Abstract

This study aims to determine the relationship between Growth Mindset and Learning Outcomes of Elementary School Students. This study is a Quantitative Research with a pre-experimental one group pretest-posttest design conducted on elementary school students. The research subjects were 15 students. Data were collected through observation, questionnaires, tests and documentation, then analyzed descriptively quantitatively. The results showed that there was an increase in learning outcomes with an average pretest score of 66.67 to 87.20 in the posttest. Based on the Shapiro-Wilk normality test, the data were declared normally distributed so that the test was continued using a paired sample t-test with a t-count result of 6.118 with a significance of 0.00 <0.05 which means there was a significant increase after treatment. To see the relationship between growth mindset and learning outcomes, a correlation test was used, where the results of the correlation test obtained a value of r = 0.451 which means the correlation value is in the interval 0.40-0.599. This indicates that growth mindset has a moderate relationship to student learning outcomes

Abstract

The development of modern education demands a paradigm shift from teachercentered learning (TCL) to student-centered learning (SCL). This paper aims to examine the concepts, characteristics, roles of teachers and students, as well as the strengths and challenges of implementing TCL and SCL in the learning process, particularly in Islamic Religious Education (PAI). This study employs a library research method by analyzing relevant books and scholarly journal articles. The discussion indicates that TCL is effective in classroom control and efficient content delivery; however, it tends to limit students’ active participation and learning independence. In contrast, SCL positions students as active subjects in the learning process, encouraging the development of critical, creative, collaborative, and independent learning skills. Nevertheless, the implementation of SCL faces several challenges, including teachers’ readiness, students’ learning autonomy, and the availability of supporting facilities and learning culture. Therefore, careful planning and collaboration among teachers, students, and educational institutions are essential to ensure the effective and sustainable implementation of SCL in improving the quality of learning. Abstract

Pendidikan memiliki posisi sentral dalam ajaran Islam karena berfungsi sebagai sarana pengembangan potensi manusia secara menyeluruh, baik aspek spiritual, intelektual, moral, maupun sosial. Islam sejak awal kemunculannya telah menempatkan pendidikan sebagai perintah agama, sebagaimana tercermin dalam wahyu pertama yang memerintahkan manusia untuk membaca dan belajar. Artikel ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji konsep pendidikan dalam perspektif Islam, pandangan Islam terhadap pendidikan, serta model-model pendidikan Islam yang berkembang di Indonesia. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kajian pustaka dengan menelaah berbagai sumber literatur yang relevan, seperti Al-Qur’an, hadis, buku, dan artikel ilmiah. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa pendidikan dalam Islam bersifat holistik dan berorientasi pada keseimbangan kehidupan dunia dan akhirat. Model pendidikan Islam di Indonesia, seperti pesantren dan madrasah, berperan strategis dalam membentuk generasi yang beriman, berakhlak mulia, dan berpengetahuan luas. Dengan demikian, pendidikan Islam tidak hanya berfungsi sebagai transfer ilmu, tetapi juga sebagai proses pembentukan karakter dan peradaban manusia.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the implementation of maharah kalam (Arabic speaking skills) instruction based on narrative texts and to examine its impact on students’ speaking ability and responses in Grade VII of SMP IT Al-FARABI. The research employed a qualitative descriptive approach. Data were collected through classroom observations, semi-structured interviews, and documentation. The research subjects consisted of one Arabic language teacher and Grade VII students who participated in maharah kalam learning activities using narrative text media. Data analysis was conducted through data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing, while data validity was ensured through technique and source triangulation.The findings indicate that the use of narrative text media is effective in improving students’ maharah kalam abilities. Improvements were observed in several aspects of speaking skills, including fluency, pronunciation, vocabulary mastery, intonation, and self-confidence. Vocabulary mastery and self-confidence showed the most significant improvement, while pronunciation and intonation improved at a moderate to high level. Furthermore, both teachers and students expressed positive responses toward the use of narrative texts, as this medium made the learning process more communicative, engaging, and encouraged students to be more active in speaking Arabic. Overall, narrative text media can serve as an effective alternative instructional strategy to enhance Arabic speaking skills at the junior high school level.

Abstract

Adapun latar belakang yang mendorong penelitian ini adalah masih terdapat beberapa peserta didik yang masih mengalami kesulitan dalam membaca khususnya membaca permulaan. Seperti siswa yang mengalami kesulitan dan kebingungan dalam membaca kata hingga kalimat sederhana. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis penerapan metode suku kata dalam kemampuan membaca permulaan siswa kelas III SDN Ciceri Indah Kota Serang. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian kualitatif dengan metode deskriptif. Subyek penelitian ini adalah beberapa siswa yang masih mengalami kesulitan membaca khususnya membaca permulaan yakni 5 orang siswa. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah Teknik wawancara, observasi, dan dokumentasi. Data yang telah dikumpulkan kemudian dianalisis menggunakan metode analisis Milles dan Huberman yang meliputi pengumpulan data, reduksi data, sajian data, dan kesimpulan/verifikasi. Hasil yang didapatkan dari penerapan metode suku kata (Syllabic Method) bahwasannya terdapat perkembangan membaca siswa yang mengalami kesulitan membaca permulaan yakni siswa yang bersangkutan sudah mampu melafalkan bunyi kata, membaca suku kata hingga mampu membaca kalimat sederhana.

Abstract

This study discusses various lexemes in the meaning field of hand activities in the Javanese dialect of Sidoarjo. This study begins with the fact that many hand activity lexemes have very subtle differences in meaning, especially in Javanese, which can lead to ambiguity in meaning. This study aims to describe these differences in meaning and elaborate on them. The study uses a descriptive qualitative approach with a componential analysis method through a study of the meaning field. Data were obtained through an introspectional method because the researcher is a native speaker, and verified by interviews with native speakers of the Javanese dialect of Sidoarjo. The results show that 29 hand activity lexemes were found, divided into two subfields: hand activities with intermediaries consisting of 15 lexemes. Each subfield has a common component and a differentiating component that includes one common dimension and five differentiating dimensions. As a result, the meaning field analysis is able to provide clarity of meaning and explain the differences in meaning of each hand activity lexeme in the Javanese dialect of Sidoarjo more systematically.

Abstract

Mutual cooperation, tolerance, and social solidarity were chosen as research topics because these values ​​are essential foundations for maintaining harmony in multicultural communities, particularly in urban areas such as Teladan Timur Village, Medan Kota District. The diversity of ethnic, religious, and cultural backgrounds in the local community makes this study relevant to examining how local cultural values ​​persist amidst modernization. The research method used was a qualitative approach using direct observation techniques, brief interviews with residents and neighborhood heads, and documentation of community social and cultural activities. The results show that the value of mutual cooperation is still reflected in environmental cleanliness activities and community service, tolerance is evident in attitudes of mutual respect between religious communities, and social solidarity is evident through the habit of helping each other in community activities and community meetings. These findings confirm that preserving local cultural values ​​plays a crucial role in strengthening social cohesion and creating a harmonious community life.

Abstract

Escherichia coli is a Gram-negative bacterium that frequently causesgastrointestinal infections and remains a public health concern due to increasingantimicrobial resistance. This condition encourages the exploration of herbal plantsas alternative antibacterial agents. Centella asiatica (pegagan) is a medicinal plantwidely used in traditional medicine and is known to contain bioactive compoundssuch as flavonoids, tannins, saponins, and triterpenoids that potentially exhibitantibacterial activity. This study aimed to evaluate the inhibitory effect of ethanolicextract of C. asiatica leaves against E. coli using the disc diffusion method. Freshpegagan leaves were processed into simplicia, extracted with 96% ethanol, anddiluted into four concentrations (15%, 30%, 45%, and 60%). Escherichia colicultures were standardized to 0.5 McFarland and inoculated onto agar media. Paperdiscs impregnated with each extract concentration were applied, with ciprofloxacinused as a positive control and ethanol as a negative control. After incubation at 37°Cfor 24 hours, inhibition zones were measured. The results showed that none of theextract concentrations produced a measurable inhibition zone, while ciprofloxacinformed a clear zone of inhibition, indicating bacterial sensitivity and method validity.These findings suggest that ethanolic extract of C. asiatica leaves at concentrationsof 15–60% does not exhibit measurable antibacterial activity against E. coli, possiblydue to insufficient concentration of active compounds to penetrate the Gramnegative bacterial cell wall.

Abstract

This research was designed to evaluate the impact of the implementation of a game-based learning model or Game Based Learning (GBL) on improving the mathematics academic achievement of second-grade students at UPT SD 94 BEBA, Takalar Regency. The decline in mathematics academic achievement at the elementary level is often associated with traditional teaching methodologies that tend to focus on educators. The investigation was conducted using a quantitative methodology and a quasi-experimental design using a One Group Pretest-Posttest design. Data collection was carried out through learning outcome assessments, then analyzed using a paired t-test and N-Gain calculation to measure the effectiveness of score improvement. The analysis findings showed a significant deviation between the pretest and posttest scores, evidenced by a t-statistic value of 15.433 and a significance level of 6.606e-15. The average learning outcome score increased from 79.96 to 83.04 after the implementation of GBL, with an N-Gain index of 0.17 which is categorized as low. This finding indicates that although the increase is statistically significant, the effectiveness of improving learning outcomes is still limited. Overall, the implementation of GBL has been proven to be able to encourage students' motivation, active participation, and understanding of mathematical concepts through enjoyable and student-centered learning experiences.

Abstract

Meningkatnya polarisasi identitas keagamaan dan kecenderungan sikap keberagamaan eksklusif menjadi tantangan serius bagi masyarakat multikultural. Kondisi tersebut menempatkan pendidikan, khususnya Pendidikan Islam, sebagai arena strategis dalam membentuk identitas keagamaan moderat. Identitas keagamaan moderat dipahami sebagai orientasi keberagamaan yang seimbang, toleran, dan adaptif terhadap kemajemukan sosial. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis kontribusi kurikulum Pendidikan Islam dalam pembentukan identitas keagamaan moderat berdasarkan kajian literatur ilmiah. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode tinjauan literatur terhadap buku akademik, artikel jurnal nasional dan internasional, serta dokumen kebijakan pendidikan Islam. Data dianalisis menggunakan analisis isi untuk mengidentifikasi konsep, pola, dan kecenderungan pemikiran akademik terkait relasi antara kurikulum Pendidikan Islam dan identitas keagamaan moderat. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa kurikulum Pendidikan Islam berkontribusi secara signifikan dalam pembentukan identitas keagamaan moderat melalui perumusan tujuan pembelajaran yang berorientasi pada moderasi beragama, pengorganisasian materi ajar yang inklusif dan kontekstual, penerapan pendekatan pembelajaran dialogis dan reflektif, serta sistem evaluasi yang mencakup aspek kognitif, afektif, dan sosial. Integrasi nilai-nilai moderasi beragama dalam keseluruhan komponen kurikulum terbukti berperan dalam membentuk orientasi keberagamaan peserta didik yang seimbang dan kontributif terhadap kehidupan sosial. Kajian ini menegaskan pentingnya pengembangan kurikulum Pendidikan Islam yang secara sistematis mengarusutamakan nilai moderasi beragama sebagai upaya membangun identitas keagamaan moderat dalam konteks masyarakat plural.
