Abstract

This study aims to describe the implementation of the Teaching at the Right Level (TaRL) approach through the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model in Indonesian language subjects at the elementary school level. The type of research used is descriptive qualitative research. The research subjects were the third-grade students of Class III A at SD Negeri Sembungharjo 01, consisting of 30 students. Data collection techniques used in this study included observation, interviews, and document analysis. Based on the research findings, it can be concluded that the implementation of the Teaching at the Right Level (TaRL) approach combined with the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model in Indonesian language learning at the elementary school level yielded positive results, particularly in improving student engagement and comprehension. The PBL model provides students with opportunities to actively solve problems relevant to everyday life contexts, which helps to develop their critical thinking skills and teamwork abilities.

Abstract

The primary issue addressed in this study pertains to the diminished levels of engagement and suboptimal learning outcomes observed among students in mathematics instruction highlighted by ongoing difficulties in understanding the material. This research seeks to explore the impact of differentiated instruction on the mathematics learning outcomes of fifth-grade students at UPT SPF SDN 43 Mattirowalie. This study employed a quantitative research approach, utilizing a pre-experimental design characterized by the One Group Pretest-Posttest methodology. The research procedure included the initial stage, implementation stage, and evaluation stage. The subjects in this study were 24 fifth-grade students of UPT SPF SDN 43 Mattirowalie, Kindang District, Bulukumba Regency. The results indicated that the implementation of differentiated learning positively impacted students' mathematics learning outcomes. The average score for students' mathematics performance improved significantly, rising from 31.74 (very low category) in the pretest to 64.78 (fairly good category) in the posttest. The significance value demonstrated a notable difference (0.010 < 0.05). Furthermore, the N-Gain analysis demonstrated an average normalized gain of 0.4749, categorizing it within the moderate range. These findings suggested that differentiated learning significantly influences the mathematics learning outcomes of fifth-grade students at UPT SPF SDN 43 Mattirowalie.

Abstract

Research stems from students low comprehension of abstract ecosystem concepts and the limited variety of instructional media used by teachers. A descriptive qualitative approach was employed, involving fifth-grade students and teachers at SDN Banyumanik 01 Semarang as research subjects. Data collection techniques included observation, interviews, and documentation. The results revealed that the use of diorama media significantly enhanced students’ engagement and comprehension of the subject matter. This was evidenced by an increase in the average score of the Mid-Semester Assessment (PTS), from 70 to 85, after the implementation of diorama-based learning. Additionally, students demonstrated success in three main indicators based on observation and interview data: collaboration, responsibility, and communication skills. Throughout the learning process, students showed enthusiasm and active participation. Therefore, it can be concluded that diorama media is an effective tool to improve elementary school students learning outcomes, especially in food chain topics within IPAS learning.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of using educational games in Social Studies (IPS) learning at the elementary level, with a focus on enhancing student engagement and critical thinking skills. Utilizing a literature study approach, this research compiles and integrates findings from various scholarly sources to understand the role of educational games as an alternative learning strategy. The findings indicate that incorporating game elements into the learning process not only transforms the conventional learning paradigm but also strengthens students' interaction with the subject matter, thereby triggering active participation and the development of analytical and evaluative skills. Thus, educational games have proven to be effective in supporting a more dynamic Social Studies learning process that meets the demands of 21st-century education.

Abstract

Social Studies (IPS) education at the elementary school level often faces challenges in engaging students, particularly due to the reliance on text-based delivery methods that can lack interactivity. One solution to enhance students' reading interest is the use of animated videos as an engaging and interactive learning medium. This study adopts a qualitative approach through literature review to explore the role of animated videos in increasing students' reading interest in Social Studies education. Data is collected by analyzing relevant literature, including books, journals, and other academic articles. The findings indicate that animated videos can motivate students to take a greater interest in the subject matter, strengthen their understanding through clearer visualizations, and support a more interactive learning experience. Therefore, animated videos can be considered an effective teaching method for improving literacy and conceptual understanding in Social Studies.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatar belakangi oleh rendahnya minat peserta didik pada keterampilan menulis hal ini dapat terlihat dari peserta didik yang kurang memperhatikan ejaan serta tata bahasa dalam menulis sebuah teks, serta peserta didik juga kesulitan dalam menulis serta mengembangkan sebuah ide teks narasi dengan kata dan kelimat yang tepat sehingga hal ini dapat mempengaruhi hasil belajar yang diperoleh peserta didik. Tujuan penelitian ini dilakukan adalah untuk mendeskripsikan peningkatan keterampilan menulis teks narasi pada pembelajaran Bahasa Indonesia menggunakan mode Cooperative Learning tipe STAD di kelas V SDN 10 Sapiran Kota Bukittinggi. Subjek penelitian ini adalah guru dan peserta didik kelas V yang berjumlah 21 orang yang diantaranya 11 orang perempuan dan 10 orang laki-laki. Data penelitian ini dikumpulkan dengan menggunakan teknik tes dan non tes. Sedangkan untuk instrumen pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini menggunakan lembar tes dan non tes. Pendekatan yang digunakan yaitu pendekatan kualitatif dan pendekatan kuantitatif. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian tindakan kelas (PTK) yang dilaksanakan pada 2 siklus. Siklus I terdiri dari 2 pertemuan dan siklus II terdiri dari 1 pertemuan. Pada setiap siklus ini meliputi empat tahapan, diantaranya adalah perencanaan, pelaksanaan, pengamatan dan refleksi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya peningkatan siklus I modul ajar dengan rata-rata 83,33% dengan kualifikasi baik (B) meningkat pada siklus II dengan rata-rata 91,6% dengan kualifikasi sangat baik (SB). Pelaksanaan proses pembelajaran aspek guru di siklus I rata-rata nilai yang diperoleh adalah 84,37% dengan kualifikasi baik (B) meningkat pada siklus II dengan rata-rata nilai yang diperoleh adalah 93,75% dengan kualifikasi sangat baik (SB). Pelaksanaan pada aspek peserta didik di siklus I rata-rata nilai yang diperoleh adalah 81% dengan kualifikasi baik (B) Meningkat pada siklus II dengan rata-rata nilai yang diperoleh adalah 90,6% dengan kualifikasi sangat baik (SB). Hasil penilaian keterampilan peserta didik di siklus I dengan rata-rata 73,1 dengan kualifikasi cukup (C) meningkat pada siklus II dengan memperoleh nilai 81 dengan kualifikasi baik (B). Berdasarkan hasil yang diperoleh dapat disimpulkan bahwa dengan model Cooperative Learning tipe STAD dapat meningkatkan keterampilan menulis teks narasi pada pembelajaran Bahasa Indonesia di Sekolah Dasar. Kata Kunci : Model Cooperative Learning tipe STAD, Keterampilan Menulis, Pembelajaran Bahasa Indonesia.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of using integrated STEM-based PjBL learning modules on students' scientific argumentation skills. The research is experimental in nature, employing a post-test only design. The population in this study comprises 11th-grade phase F students enrolled in Biology for the 2024/2025 academic year. Non-probability sampling was utilized, with the sample selected through purposive sampling. The Biology content covered in the study focuses on the excretory system, specifically the skin. Data collection instruments included interviews, observations, and objective tests. Data analysis techniques involved tests for normality, homogeneity, and hypothesis testing. The results of the study indicate that there is a significant difference between the scientific argumentation skills of students who used the integrated STEM-based PjBL modules and those who underwent conventional learning.

Abstract

This study explores the implementation of literacy activities at SDN 1 Bangunsari, addressing the challenges in enhancing students' reading interest and literacy skills. The study aims to analyze the strategies employed, identify obstacles encountered, and formulate practical solutions to strengthen literacy culture in elementary schools. Utilizing a qualitative descriptive method, data were gathered through in-depth interviews with principals, teachers, and students; direct classroom observations; and document analysis. The findings reveal that the school conducts several literacy activities such as 15-minute reading sessions before class, classroom reading corners, and storytelling practices. These activities contribute positively to students’ reading habits and comprehension. However, the study also found significant challenges, including limited access to appealing reading materials, low student motivation, and lack of innovative teaching strategies. To overcome these barriers, the study suggests enhancing book collections, providing teacher training on literacy strategies, and integrating technology-based approaches. The findings contribute to the understanding of effective literacy program implementation in elementary schools and offer recommendations for improving literacy education in similar settings.

Abstract

This research is an R&D (Research and development) development research. This study aims to look at the results of the validity of the products developed and determine the practicality and effectiveness of the HOTS (Higher Of Order Thinking Skills) based mathematics LKPD with the context of pyramid houses on grade IV flat building material at MI Al-Adli Palembang. The development model in this research is ADDIE with five stages, namely analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. Data collection techniques using interviews, questionnaires and tests. This research involved lecturers as media and language experts, and teachers as material experts. The subjects in this study were students of class IV.C as many as 23 students for the practicality trial and for the effectiveness trial on the pre-test and post-test. The results showed that the HOTS-based math LKPD with the context of the Palembang pyramid house was very valid or feasible to use with a percentage of 97.3% media experts, 92% material experts and 92% language experts. The response of students with a very practical category obtained a percentage score of 93.2% and the results of the pre-test and post-test with the effective category obtained a percentage of 83.56%.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the steps and obstacles and challenges experienced by the Badan Perlindungan Pekerja Migran Indonesia (BP2MI) of Serang City in implementing protection for Indonesian Migrant Workers. This study uses a qualitative methodology with a descriptive approach. The results of the study obtained were a.) The Role of Protection provided by BP2MI of Serang City is divided into 2 (two), namely administrative protection and legal protection; b.) Obstacles experienced by BP2MI Serang City in implementing protection for Migrant Workers include the departure of PMI in a Non-Procedural (Illegal) manner; and c.) Challenges experienced by BP2MI in implementing protection for PMI are differences in handling PMI who are departed in a Procedural and Non-Procedural manner. This step has shown that BP2MI Serang City and Dinas Tenaga Kerja dan Transmigrasi Serang City have carried out their performance well in implementing Law Number 18 of 2017 concerning the Protection of Indonesian Migrant Workers (UU PPMI). For existing obstacles and challenges, they will be followed up firmly both legally, socially and administratively to strengthen supervision and protection for Workers and Prospective Indonesian Migrant Workers.
