Abstract

This study aims to examine the implementation of the national curriculum transition and the integration of global–local policies in primary schools. The research was conducted at SD As’Adiyah 4 Baru Impa-Impa using a qualitative descriptive approach. Data were collected through interviews, classroom observations, document analysis, and focus group discussions involving the school principal, lower-grade and upper-grade teachers, students, and parents. The findings show that the transition from the 2013 Curriculum to the Merdeka Curriculum has been implemented gradually through socialization, internal training, and adaptation of teaching devices. Project-based learning, particularly the Pancasila Student Profile Project (P5), has been applied and encourages student engagement, although teachers still face challenges related to collaboration, time management, and limited facilities. The integration of local content and digital literacy has begun, but remains at a basic level. Strengthening teacher capacity, stakeholder involvement, and school support systems is essential to ensure effective curriculum implementation and sustainable learning quality.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze teacher professionalism, welfare, and professional development in primary schools. The research was conducted at SD As’Adiyah 4 Baru Impa-Impa using a qualitative descriptive approach. Data were collected through interviews, observations, document analysis, and focus group discussions involving the principal, senior teachers, junior/honorary teachers, and administrative staff. The findings indicate that teacher professionalism has generally been well implemented, as reflected in strong collaboration, positive work ethics, and a supportive school environment. However, teacher welfare, particularly related to salary, certification, and professional allowances, has not been evenly distributed, especially for junior and honorary teachers. Professional development activities such as Teacher Working Groups (KKG) have contributed positively to improving teaching competence, although their implementation is still limited in frequency and participation. Strengthening certification programs, improving welfare policies, and expanding sustainable professional development are essential to enhance teacher motivation and the quality of learning in primary schools.

Abstract

This research is based on the low utilization of varied learning media in class V UPTD SD Negeri 1 Kunyit. Teachers still dominate using conventional media such as whiteboards, package books, and worksheets, so that learning is less interesting and has minimal visual stimulus. This condition makes it difficult for teachers to deliver abstract science subjects, especially material about changes in the earth due to natural events. In addition, the researcher's experience during the teaching campus program showed that students responded very positively to the use of visual and interactive digital media, characterized by their increased enthusiasm and participation. The objectives of this research and development are: to describe the media development process, to determine the validity and practicality of media, and to find out the response of students to AR-based diorama media in the science learning material of class V UPTD SD Negeri 1 Kunyit. This type of research is Research and Development (R&D) that develops AR-based Diorama Media. The development process uses the ADDIE (analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation) model. The field trial was carried out involving 13 students of class V UPTD SD Negeri 1 Kunyit. Data collection was carried out through interviews, observations, and questionnaires to assess the feasibility and user response to the media. The results of the study show that Augmented Reality (AR)-based diorama media is stated to be very feasible to use, based on the assessment of media experts with an average of 96.25% and material experts with an average of 96.25%. The practicality of the media was also stated to be very practical, as evidenced by the results of 100% teacher responses and 98.46% student responses. Thus, it can be concluded that AR-based diorama media is valid and very practical to be used as a science learning media for grade V in elementary schools.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of color-block unplugged coding instruction management in enhancing elementary school students’ logical thinking skills. This research employed a qualitative descriptive approach with fifth-grade students as the research subjects. Coding instruction was carried out through unplugged activities using color-coded cards and command blocks that represent algorithmic concepts such as sequencing, conditions, and loops. This model allows students to understand programming logic without relying on digital devices. Data were collected through observations, interviews, and pre- and post-tests of logical thinking skills. The results indicate that well-structured instructional management, the use of engaging and concrete color-block media, and students’ active participation in problem-solving activities significantly improved their logical thinking abilities. In addition, students demonstrated increased learning motivation, confidence, and collaborative skills. Therefore, color-block unplugged coding can serve as an innovative alternative for developing computational literacy in elementary education.

Abstract

ABSTRACT This article examines how the implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum contributes to the development of 21st-century student character through a literature review approach. The Merdeka Curriculum emphasizes student-centered learning, curricular flexibility, and character formation grounded in the Profile of Pancasila Students and project-based learning. In response to 21st-century demands, schools are expected to cultivate not only cognitive abilities but also socio-emotional skills and character values such as collaboration, communication, critical thinking, creativity, independence, integrity, and social responsibility. Using library research, this study systematically reviews policy documents and scholarly literature related to the Merdeka Curriculum, character education, and 21st-century competencies. The findings indicate that character development is most effective when schools integrate the dimensions of the Profile of Pancasila Students into intraculicular learning, implement the Project for Strengthening the Profile of Pancasila Students (P5), apply differentiated instruction and formative assessment, and foster a supportive school culture with strong parental and community partnerships. Despite these strengths, challenges remain, particularly regarding teacher readiness, consistency of school culture, administrative demands, and unequal resource support. The study recommends strengthening teacher capacity, aligning assessment with character indicators, and reinforcing a reflective and collaborative school ecosystem.Kata keyword: Merdeka Curriculum, Profile of Pancasila Students, character education 21st-century competencies.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the quality of test items developed by Accounting Education students at Universitas Negeri Surabaya for the topic of Principles and Concepts of Accounting and Basic Banking. The analysis was conducted using the Anates application to evaluate item validity, reliability, difficulty level, discrimination power, and distractor effectiveness. Twenty respondents, consisting of vocational students and undergraduate accounting education students, completed a set of 63 multiple-choice items. The results show that the test has a high reliability coefficient, indicating strong internal consistency. However, many items were categorized as very easy, had low discrimination power, or contained ineffective distractors, suggesting the need for revision. Only about half of the items met acceptable validity criteria. These findings emphasize the importance of empirical item analysis in producing accurate and fair evaluation instruments, and highlight the necessity of improving pre-service teachers’ competence in test development and psychometric assessment.

Abstract

This study explores the phenomenon of Fear of Missing Out (FoMO) and fashion consumption behavior among Generation Z university students in Banda Aceh in the era of digital communication. The research is grounded in the growing use of social media platforms such as TikTok and Instagram, which have shaped new consumption patterns based on trends and social validation. The purpose of this study is to examine how digital communication and FoMO influence fashion purchasing decisions, as well as to identify the underlying social and psychological factors. Using a descriptive qualitative approach, data were collected through in-depth interviews with several active social media users who have purchased fashion products influenced by online trends. The findings reveal that most respondents purchase new clothing, shoes, or accessories even when the old ones are still wearable, driven by the desire to stay relevant to current viral trends. Repetitive exposure to fashion content, influencer endorsements, and digital marketing strategies significantly increase buying interest and reinforce symbolic consumption behavior. FoMO also triggers social anxiety that compels individuals to follow trends to maintain their digital presence. Nevertheless, some respondents show financial awareness by considering their economic capacity and family values before purchasing. This study concludes that Generation Z’s fashion consumption behavior is a complex result of digital communication, social pressure, and psychological needs for belonging within virtual communities. Abstract

The learning of Qur’anic exegesis (tafsir) in Madrasah Aliyah plays an important role in developing students’ comprehensive and contextual understanding of Islam. However, Qur’anic learning in madrasahs often focuses on memorization and textual comprehension, resulting in Qur’anic values not being fully internalized in students’ attitudes and behavior. This study aims to analyze the urgency of Qur’anic exegesis learning within the Islamic education curriculum at Madrasah Aliyah. The research employs a qualitative approach using a literature study method by examining relevant books, scholarly articles, and related sources. The results indicate that Qur’anic exegesis learning plays a strategic role in fostering critical, moderate, and responsible religious understanding, as well as supporting the formation of students’ character and moral values. Therefore, strengthening and optimally integrating Qur’anic exegesis learning into the Islamic education curriculum of Madrasah Aliyah is essential.
