Abstract

Gambling has increasingly appeared in disguised forms through the gacha system in online games, causing addiction, financial losses, and secondary criminality, particularly among youth. Indonesian criminal law, however, remains ambiguous in classifying this practice as gambling. This study addresses two questions: (1) Can online games using gacha be considered criminal gambling under Indonesian law? (2) How is law enforcement implemented against such gambling? Using a normative legal methodology with statutory and conceptual approaches, the study examines primary sources (Law No. 1 of 2023 on the National Criminal Code, Law No. 1 of 2024 on Electronic Information and Transactions, and Minister of Communication and Informatics Regulation No. 2 of 2024), as well as secondary and tertiary materials, analyzed descriptively and qualitatively. Findings indicate that: (1) The gacha system qualifies as criminal gambling because it involves a game, chance, and wagering, especially with Real Money Trade (RMT) converting virtual items into real currency, in line with Articles 426–427 of the National Criminal Code, Article 27(2) of the Electronic Information and Transactions Law, and the classification of “simulation and/or gambling activities” in the Ministerial Regulation. (2) Law enforcement employs both penal and non-penal strategies, including legislation, police investigation, access blocking by the Ministry, and administrative or criminal sanctions, though hindered by extraterritorial jurisdiction, complex digital evidence, and lack of specific regulations. To ensure effective deterrence, adaptive regulations, international cooperation, and public education are essential to mitigate the negative impacts of digital gambling.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze parenting patterns in shaping children's education within families of commercial sex workers (CSWs) in Permata Baru Village, North Indralaya District, Ogan Ilir Regency. This research uses a qualitative descriptive approach with data collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The results show that the dominant parenting style is authoritarian, influenced by limited time, economicconditions, and the social environment. Parents’ low educational background and social stigma also affect children's educational development. The study concludes that children's education in CSW families is influenced by both family and social environmental factors, requiring support from various parties to create a conducive educational environment.

Abstract

This study was motivated by the low level of understanding among fourth-grade elementary school students regarding the topic of climate and its changes in the IPAS subject. This condition is caused by the learning process that is still teacher-centered, resulting in students being less active in understanding concepts in depth. Learning that does not actively involve students can lead to low learning outcomes. Therefore, a more innovative learning approach is needed so that students can be actively involved and understand the material better. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of using the deep learning approach with digital diorama media on IPAS learning outcomes in the topic of climate and its changes for fourth-grade elementary school students. The research method used was a quantitative method with a quasi-experimental design using a nonequivalent control group design. The sampling technique used was purposive sampling. The research sample consisted of 44 students, including class IV A as the experimental class with 21 students and class IV B as the control class with 23 students. Data collection techniques included interviews, tests, and documentation, with research instruments in the form of pretest and posttest questions. Data analysis was conducted through the Shapiro–Wilk normality test, homogeneity test, independent sample t-test, paired sample t-test, and N-Gain test. The results showed that the significance value of the independent sample t-test was 0.000 < 0.05, indicating a difference in learning outcomes between the experimental and control classes. The average posttest score of the experimental class was 87.14, which was higher than the control class with an average score of 74.13. In addition, the average pretest score of the experimental class increased from 55 to 87.14 in the posttest.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the strategies of Karang Taruna in increasing youth social participation in Timbangan Village, Ogan Ilir Regency, which is motivated by the low level of youth involvement in social community activities. This study uses a qualitative approach with data collection techniques through observation, interviews, and documentation. The focus of the study is on organizational strategies including planning, implementation, and evaluation of activities. The results show that the strategies implemented have not been optimal due to the lack of program innovation, weak organizational communication, and low youth involvement in activities. Therefore, it is necessary to strengthen strategies through the development of more engaging programs, improved communication, and active member involvement in order to increase youth social participation optimally and sustainably

Abstract

This research is motivated by the science learning results of students, many of whom are still below the KKTP. The aim of this research is to determine the significant influence of the application of the Discovery Learning learning model assisted by Digestion Smart Board media on the learning outcomes of class V science and science students at SDN 02 GunungSarik. The type of research is Quasi-experimental design, using the Nonequivalent Posttest-Only Control Group Design research design. The research population was all class V students at SDN 02 GunungSarik. The samples used were class VB (Experiment) and class VA (Control). The sampling technique uses saturated sampling. The data collection technique is to use tests, with the research instrument used in the form of objective test questions in the form of multiple choices. Hypothesis testing uses the t test statistic which is preceded by normality and homogeneity tests at a significance level of 0.05. The posttest results showed that the average score for the experimental class (83.75) was higher than the control class (77.29). The results of the hypothesis test show tcount = 2,697 and ttable = 1,679 so tcount > ttable, then H0 is rejected and H₁ is accepted. The conclusion of this research is that there is a significant influence of the application of the Discovery Learning learning model assisted by Digestion Smart Board Media on the Learning Outcomes of Class V Students at SDN 02 GunungSarik.

Abstract

Mathematics is one of the subjects that is synonymous with mathematical abilities, one of which is the ability to understand concepts, with the ability to understand concepts makes it easier for students to solve problems because students will be able to relate and solve these problems with concepts they have understood. This study aims to obtain results and describe the development of animated videos using animaker to improve the ability to understand concepts in learning on flat shapes. This type of research is a development research with an RnD approach. The main objective of this study is to produce a learning media product in the form of a research and development (R&D) type of learning media. This research was developed using the five steps of the ADDIE development model, namely 1) analyze, 2) design, 3) development, 4) implementation, 5) evaluation. Data collection techniques used were interviews, observations, and questionnaires. This study produced learning media using the Animaker Application based on the validation that has been carried out which resulted in a "very good" category. The validation results show that the learning media product is worthy of being tested on students. The results of the field trial resulted in a "good" category. Thus, the mathematics learning media product created by the researcher is worthy of being used in the learning process.

Abstract

This study was motivated by the still-low level of digital reading literacy among elementary school students in Indonesian language instruction, despite the implementation of digital technology. This study aims to describe the level of digital reading literacy among fifth-grade students, identify the factors influencing it, and describe the use of digital learning resources in Indonesian language instruction at SDN Larangan Selatan 1. This study employs a qualitative approach using the case study method. Data collection was conducted through observation, semi-structured interviews, and document analysis, with the research subjects being two fifth-grade teachers and four students. Data analysis was carried out through data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results of the study indicate that students’ digital reading literacy falls into the “fairly good” category. Students are able to follow and understand digital texts, but still face limitations in critically evaluating and utilizing digital information. Factors influencing digital reading literacy include supporting and inhibiting factors. Supporting factors are technological factors and reading-related factors, while inhibiting factors are individual ability and ethical considerations regarding the use of digital media. Digital learning resources have been utilized quite effectively in Indonesian language instruction. Teachers use digital texts to present reading materials, assign summary tasks, ask comprehension questions, and provide follow-up activities that engage students in critical thinking. The findings of this study underscore the importance of strengthening digital reading literacy through well-planned instructional strategies and the effective use of digital media in Indonesian language instruction at the elementary school level.

Abstract

This study aims to develop a valid, practical, and effective STAD-based cooperative e-comic medium to improve the conceptual understanding of science material among fourth-grade students at SD Negeri 1 Penglatan. The research problem stems from students’ low conceptual understanding, teaching that remains teacher-centered, and the use of media that lacks variety and does not yet optimally utilize technology. This study is a research and development (R&D) study using the ADDIE model. The research subjects included 2 content experts, 2 media experts, 2 teachers, and 25 fourth-grade students at SD Negeri 1 Penglatan, with the research object being the STAD-based cooperative e-comic medium. Product validation was conducted by content and media experts, while the practicality test involved teachers and students through individual and small-group tests. Data collection methods included questionnaires and tests with quantitative descriptive analysis. The research results indicate that the e-comic media has a very high level of validity, with a percentage of 96% (subject matter experts) and 95% (media experts). The practicality of the media received an average of 97% from teachers, as well as 94% in individual and small-group tests, categorized as very practical. The results of the effectiveness test showed an increase in the average score from 44.00 on the pretest to 84.20 on the posttest, with a significance value of the paired sample t-test of 0.000 (< 0.05) and an N-Gain value of 0.74 (effective category). Thus, the STAD-based cooperative e-comic medium is deemed valid, practical, and effective for improving students’ understanding of IPAS concepts.

Abstract

Shivering during surgery often appears as a complication in surgical patients under general anesthesia. This phenomenon can trigger an increase in oxygen demand, higher energy burning, and discomfort for the patient. The risk is greater in Open Reduction Internal Fixation (ORIF) cases with long operating times. Objective : Describe the pattern of intraoperative Shivering in ORIF patients receiving general anesthesia in the Central Surgery (IBS) room at RSUD dr. Gondo Suwarno Ungaran. Method : This descriptive observational study with a cross-sectional design was conducted at IBS RSUD dr. Gondo Suwarno Ungaran. The sample consisted of 5 patients selected through purposive sampling. Data collection relies on direct observation and review of medical records during surgical procedures. Univariate analysis focused on frequencies and percentages. Results : Four respondents (80.0%) were male. A total of 4 respondents (80.0%) underwent surgery for more than 60 minutes. Shivering was detected in 3 respondents (60.0%), while 2 others (40.0%) were free from these symptoms. The heaviest level of Shivering occurred most often, namely in 2 respondents (40.0%). All cases of Shivering were recorded in patients with operation duration exceeding 60 minutes. Conclusion : Incidence of intraoperative Shivering in ORIF patients with general anesthesia at RSUD dr. Gondo Suwarno Ungaran is relatively high, especially for those whose operations last more than 60 minutes.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Lifeboats are the only safety equipment that can save the crew in an emergency. This study aims to determine the maintenance process and crew skills in operating lifeboats. The research method used is descriptive qualitative with data collection techniques through observation, interviews, and documentation. Observations were made to determine the lifeboat maintenance process, the condition of lifeboat parts, and crew skills in operating lifeboats. Meanwhile, interviews were conducted with the Captain, chief officer, third officer and third engineer to obtain in-depth information regarding the technical problems that occurred. The research findings revealed that maintenance on the lifeboats on the MV. Tonasa Lines XV was not carried out according to the planned maintenance schedule. Furthermore, the crew was deemed incompetent in operating the lifeboats, resulting in delays in launching them. This, in turn, left them unprepared for emergencies. Suggested solutions include improving lifeboat maintenance in accordance with SOLAS 1974 regulations and providing training to the crew on lifeboat operating procedures.
