Abstract

his article aims to comprehensively analyze teachers’ professional competencies in improving the quality of learning. This study is motivated by the crucial role of teachers as the main actors in the educational process, who are required to adapt to the rapid development of science, technology, and the increasingly complex needs of learners in the modern era. This research employs a qualitative approach using a library research method, drawing data from books, scientific journals, 12 articles, and relevant regulatory documents. Data collection was conducted through documentation, while data analysis used descriptive qualitative techniques, including data reduction, data presentation, and systematic conclusion drawing. The results indicate that teachers’ professional competence is a holistic and integrated ability encompassing knowledge, skills, attitudes, and values reflected in the effective and responsible implementation of educational tasks. These competencies consist of four main aspects: pedagogical, personal, professional, and social competencies, which are interrelated and inseparable in supporting effective learning processes. Furthermore, the indicators of professional competence are reflected in the ability to design and manage learning systematically, develop creative and contextual learning materials, apply various teaching strategies and media, conduct continuous reflection and evaluation, and adapt to technological advancements as well as 21st-century skills demands. In conclusion, teachers’ professional competencies play a strategic role in enhancing the quality of learning and determining overall educational success. Therefore, continuous professional development is essential to create innovative, effective, and relevant learning processes in response to the challenges of globalization.

Abstract

This paper explores the impact of teachers' competency in shaping educational quality disparity in the application of the Merdeka curriculum in Indonesia. In this case, the research problem relates to the disparity in quality of education due to the disparity in teacher competency, resource access, and school preparedness. The research objective is to assess the impact of teachers' competency on both curriculum application and educational disparity. A qualitative descriptive research design, complemented by a literature review approach, was adopted for this study. Based on the findings, teachers' competencies in pedagogy, professionalism, society, and personal areas play an important role in ensuring effective and learner-centered learning process. Nevertheless, the lack of uniformity in terms of competencies as well as the accessibility to resources and technology makes its optimal application impossible.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to explore in depth the difficulties in social interaction experienced by students at Pontianak State Senior High School 7. This study used a descriptive method with a qualitative approach in the form of a case study. Data were obtained through interviews, observations, and documentation involving case subjects, guidance and counseling teachers, homeroom teachers, and peers. Data analysis was conducted through the stages of case identification, diagnosis, prognosis, treatment, evaluation, and follow-up. The focus of this study was to understand the symptoms, causal factors, impacts, and alternative support options to help students build more positive social relationships. The results of the study showed that students experiencing difficulties in social interaction tended to be quiet, waiting for others to invite them to speak, withdrawing, and exhibiting anxiety in social situations. After receiving guidance and counseling services using a behavioral counseling approach, students showed positive changes such as increased self-confidence, courage to interact, and improved communication skills with peers and teachers.

Abstract

The role of professional teachers becomes a key element in creating active and meaningful learning environments amid the dynamic demands of 21st-century education. The shift from teacher-centered to student-centered learning requires teachers not only to deliver content but also to facilitate engaging and participatory learning experiences. This study aims to analyze how professional teachers contribute to fostering student engagement and constructing meaningful learning processes. A qualitative approach with a library research design was employed, utilizing relevant and credible sources such as academic journals, books, and official documents. Data were collected through documentation techniques and analyzed using content analysis, including data reduction, data display, and integrative conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that professional teachers perform multiple roles, including as educators, facilitators, motivators, and learning managers, which directly influence students’ level of participation and depth of understanding. Learning environments that are designed to be active and contextual are shown to enhance critical thinking skills, social interaction, and the ability to connect knowledge with real-life situations. Thus, the effectiveness of learning is not solely determined by the methods applied, but also by the teacher’s ability to integrate professional competencies into classroom practices in a comprehensive and meaningful way.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of using Canva-based learning media on students’ academic achievement in the IPAS subject at Ngebel Public Elementary School. The background of this study is based on students’ low academic achievement and the lack of engaging and interactive learning media in the learning process. Therefore, there is a need for innovative learning media capable of improving students’ academic achievement. This study is a quantitative research using an experimental design with a quasi-experimental design in the form of a nonequivalent control group design. Data collection instruments used tests (pretest and posttest). Data analysis was conducted through normality tests, homogeneity tests, and hypothesis testing using an independent samples t-test with the assistance of SPSS. The research results indicate that the significance value is 0.001 < 0.05, so H_a is accepted and H_o is rejected. Thus, there is a significant difference between the average learning outcomes of students in the control class and the experimental class after the treatment was administered. This indicates that the use of Canva-based learning media has a significant effect on improving student learning achievement in the IPAS subject at Ngebel State Elementary School. Based on these research results, it can be concluded that Canva-based learning media is effective in the learning process because it can improve students’ learning achievement. Therefore, it is recommended that educators utilize Canva-based learning media as an alternative to create more interactive learning experiences.

Abstract

The increasing number of sexual harassment cases against women in digital spaces indicates the narrowing of safe environments. Many people still assume that sexual harassment occurs due to the victim’s fault, including their behavior, clothing, and way of speaking. This study examines the practice of victim blaming against women in cases of sexual harassment circulating on social media. The focus of this research is on victim blaming experienced by women when reporting perpetrators to authorities as a form of self-defense within the construction of security. This study employs a descriptive qualitative approach using Norman Fairclough’s critical discourse analysis. The subject of this research is social media, particularly Instagram, with the object of study being video posts depicting an online motorcycle taxi driver committing sexual harassment against a woman in a mall, including the unauthorized use of the victim’s photo, as well as comments that blame the victim related to the victim’s physical appearance in sexual harassment cases.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the dynamics of the national education system through philosophical, sociological, psychological, and juridical perspectives within the framework of educational management. This research employs a qualitative approach with a library research method, utilizing data from scientific journals, academic books, and official policy documents related to the national education system. Data were analyzed using content analysis techniques, including data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that the national education system is a complex and dynamic system influenced by interconnected educational foundations. Philosophical foundations provide direction and values, sociological foundations reflect social contexts, psychological foundations emphasize learners’ characteristics, and juridical foundations ensure regulatory compliance. Furthermore, the application of systems theory in educational management enables a holistic understanding of the relationships between input, process, output, and outcome. The integration of these perspectives is essential in creating an effective, adaptive, and sustainable education system. Therefore, educational management must be conducted comprehensively by integrating these dimensions to improve the quality of national education.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the role of interactive learning multimedia in supporting Indonesian language writing skills in elementary school students based on a synthesis of relevant literature. Data were obtained from national journal articles published between 2022 and 2025 and relevant to the use of interactive multimedia in writing learning. Analysis was conducted through reading, categorizing, comparing, and synthesizing research findings to obtain a comprehensive conceptual overview. The study results indicate that interactive learning multimedia contributes to increasing student engagement, motivation, and the ability to develop ideas, construct sentences, and organize writing systematically. Furthermore, interactive multimedia supports more concrete, engaging, and student-centered learning through the integration of text, images, audio, and animation. These findings demonstrate that interactive learning multimedia has the potential as an innovative medium to support the improvement of elementary school students' writing skills, based on the literature reviewed. These findings are expected to form the basis for developing technology-based learning strategies that are effective, relevant, and appropriate to the 21st-century literacy needs of elementary school students.

Abstract

This article examines the framework of Islamic education policy in Indonesia, focusing on the integration of fundamental Islamic principles into national education regulations. This study aims to analyze the extent to which fundamental values such as tawhid and akhlak are accommodated in public policy, particularly from the perspective of Law No. 20 of 2003 on the National Education System and Law No. 18 of 2019 on Pesantren. The research method employed is qualitative, utilizing a literature review (library research) design. Data were collected through documentation and textual analysis of regulatory documents and academic literature from the 2020–2026 period, which were then analyzed using content analysis techniques. The research findings indicate that although the legal framework has provided formal recognition of Islamic education, its implementation still faces structural obstacles such as institutional dualism and regulatory fragmentation. A critical analysis concludes that digital transformation and regulatory harmonization are key strategies for enhancing the relevance of Islamic education in the Society 5.0 era. These findings contribute to the development of educational policies that are more integrative and adaptive to global challenges.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the effect of the effectiveness of MyDAMRI digital attendance on employee discipline at Perum DAMRI Makassar Branch. This research uses an explanatory quantitative approach with simple linear regression method. The population consists of 102 employees of Perum DAMRI Makassar Branch, with a sample of 82 respondents selected using random sampling technique based on the Slovin formula. Data were collected through questionnaires measured using a 5-point Likert scale and analyzed using SPSS software through validity tests, reliability tests, classical assumption tests, simple linear regression, and hypothesis testing. The results show that MyDAMRI digital attendance effectiveness has a positive and significant effect on employee discipline (coefficient = 0.873, t = 10.711, sig. = 0.001). The correlation coefficient (R = 0.768) indicates a strong relationship between the two variables, while the coefficient of determination (R² = 0.589) shows that 58.9% of the variation in employee discipline can be explained by digital attendance effectiveness. These findings confirm that a practical, efficient, transparent, and secure digital attendance system encourages employees to be more disciplined in adhering to work rules and regulations.
