Abstract

This study aims to examine the roles and functions of counseling in improving the well-being of students (santri) in Islamic boarding schools (pesantren). The method used in this study is a literature review by analyzing various journal articles related to the research topic. The results show that counseling services have preventive, curative, and developmental functions in helping students deal with various problems such as stress, anxiety, and difficulties in adapting to the boarding school environment. Furthermore, counseling also contributes to enhancing emotional maturity, independence, as well as the development of students’ character and moral values. Counseling services in pesantren are provided in various forms, such as individual counseling, group counseling, and consultation services, which complement each other in the student development process. The implementation of counseling services integrated with Islamic values has been proven to improve students’ mental health and psychological well-being in a sustainable manner. Therefore, counseling becomes an essential component in supporting the overall development of students.

Abstract

Research is a scientific activity conducted systematically and in a planned manner to acquire new knowledge and to address various problems in society. This study aims to analyze students' understanding of quantitative research methodology within higher education learning contexts. The research employs a library research approach by reviewing various relevant scientific literature, including journals, books, and academic articles. The findings indicate that students' understanding of quantitative research tends to be limited to technical aspects, such as numerical data processing and statistical analysis, while their comprehension of conceptual, methodological, and philosophical foundations remains insufficient. Furthermore, students demonstrate a low level of understanding regarding the tradition of quantitative research, particularly its grounding in the positivism paradigm. Misconceptions are also found in fundamental concepts such as variables, hypotheses, and research design. Overall, students’ understanding is categorized as moderate and requires further improvement. These findings suggest the need for more comprehensive and integrative learning strategies in teaching research methodology, emphasizing not only procedural skills but also conceptual and philosophical understanding.

Abstract

The development of da’wah in the modern era demands professional, systematic, and data-driven management in response to increasing societal complexity and advancements in information technology. This article aims to conceptually examine various quantitative research methods relevant to da’wah management studies and to explain their implementation in academic research. This study employs a descriptive qualitative approach using a library research method and descriptive-analytical analysis of relevant scientific literature. The findings indicate that quantitative methods such as surveys, experiments, correlational studies, and ex post facto designs play an important role in measuring and evaluating the effectiveness of da’wah programs in an objective and structured manner. Survey methods are used to identify perceptions, satisfaction, and participation of congregants; experimental methods to test the effectiveness of da’wah strategies; correlational methods to analyze relationships among variables within da’wah organizations; and ex post facto methods to evaluate completed programs. The implementation of quantitative methods in da’wah management functions includes planning, organizing, actuating, and controlling, thereby supporting data-driven decision making. This study concludes that the use of quantitative methods can enhance the quality of da’wah management studies to become more systematic, objective, and evidence-based.

Abstract

The family is the most fundamental social institution, playing a crucial role in shaping individual character and community resilience. In the context of globalization and the digital era, families face various challenges, such as moral crises, communication disruption, and the negative influence of social media, which demand a family concept that is not only harmonious but also resilient and adaptive. This study aims to analyze the concept and implementation of the sakinah family movement from Muhammadiyah's perspective as a foundation for building a progressive civilization. This study used a qualitative method with a library research approach, reviewing various literature sources including books, scientific journals, articles, and official Muhammadiyah documents. Data were analyzed using thematic analysis techniques to identify the concept, principles, and implementation of the sakinah family within the context of modern life. The results show that Muhammadiyah, as a modern Islamic movement, has a strong commitment to building society through strengthening the family institution. The concept of the sakinah family from Muhammadiyah's perspective emphasizes not only harmony but also the integration of the values ​​of monotheism, justice, equality, and social responsibility. The sakinah family movement is realized through various development programs such as premarital guidance, Islamic parenting, economic empowerment, and family digital literacy. The implementation of this concept has proven effective in strengthening family resilience and shaping a generation with noble character and adaptability to changing times. Thus, a harmonious family becomes the primary foundation for building a civilized and progressive civilization.

Abstract

Criminal law in Indonesia has undergone significant development in response to the increasing complexity of modern crimes, which can no longer be effectively addressed by the provisions of the Criminal Code (KUHP). This study aims to analyze the types of criminal law in force in Indonesia, identify the characteristics of special criminal law as a response to extraordinary crimes, and examine corporate liability within the framework of special criminal law. The research method employed is normative legal research using a legislative and conceptual approach. The results indicate that Indonesian criminal law is divided into general criminal law and special criminal law, where special criminal law serves as an adaptive criminal policy instrument against transnational crimes such as corruption, narcotics, money laundering, human trafficking, terrorism, and cybercrime. The characteristics of special criminal law are marked by deviations from general criminal procedure law, a reversal of the burden of proof, and the ability to hold corporations liable as perpetrators of criminal acts. This study concludes that special criminal law is not merely a supplement to the Criminal Code (KUHP), but a main pillar of contemporary Indonesian criminal law policy.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the relationship between study time management and learning outcomes of class XI students in the Package C program at SPNF SKB Palembang City. This study uses a quantitative correlational approach. The population and sample of the study amounted to 50 class XI Package C students. Data collection techniques used questionnaires and documentation. Data analysis techniques used descriptive statistics and Pearson Product Moment correlation tests. The results showed that study time management was in the high category, while learning outcomes were in the good category. The results of the correlation test showed a significant positive relationship with a moderate level (r = 0.403; p < 0.05). This indicates that the better the study time management, the better the student learning outcomes, although it is not the only influencing factor.

Abstract

Psychosocial well-being in primary education constitutes a crucial foundation for child development, yet it is often overlooked in academic discourses oriented toward grade achievement. This study aims to evaluate the influence of Child-Friendly Schools (CFS) on students' psychosocial well-being, identify its determining factors, and map the most effective intervention models. Utilizing a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) of selected literature from the 2015–2025 period, it was found that the implementation of CFS significantly enhances subjective life satisfaction and reduces student aggressive behavior. Internal factors, such as teacher self-efficacy and the quality of peer relationships, emerge as primary determining variables, while a supportive school climate is proven capable of mitigating the negative impacts of socioeconomic inequality. This study concludes that ecosystemic interventions involving synergy between schools, families, and communities alongside the application of restorative discipline, represent the most superior strategies. The significance of this research lies in providing an evidence-based foundation for policymakers to prioritize CFS as a central pillar of long-term mental health and educational equity.

Abstract

This study was motivated by the still-low reading comprehension skills of elementary school students, which hinder the achievement of literacy competencies. The study aims to describe the nature of reading comprehension difficulties, identify their causes, and examine teachers’ efforts to address them among fourth-grade students at SDN 14/I Sungai Baung. The study employed a descriptive qualitative approach, with data sources consisting of fourth-grade students and teachers. Data collection techniques included observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. Data analysis utilized an interactive model comprising data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results of the study indicate that the students’ main difficulties include understanding main ideas, the meaning of vocabulary, and drawing conclusions from texts. The contributing factors stem from both internal student factors and external learning factors. Teachers’ efforts were implemented through the use of contextual learning strategies and the provision of intensive reading practice. The findings also reveal that conventional teaching methods, limited learning media, and insufficient parental support at home are external factors that further exacerbate students' reading comprehension difficulties. These findings have important implications for the development of more effective reading learning strategies in elementary schools.

Abstract

Keaksaraan dini merupakan landasan penting bagi keberhasilan akademis jangka panjang anak-anak, namun banyak anak berusia 5-6 tahun di Indonesia masih menghadapi tantangan dalam keterampilan membaca awal, khususnya dalam mengenali huruf dan menghubungkan simbol tertulis dengan bunyinya yang sesuai. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis kesesuaian metode pengajaran yang digunakan oleh pendidik PAUD dalam pengajaran alfabet dan mengidentifikasi metode dan media yang paling efektif untuk mendukung perkembangan pra-membaca. Dengan menggunakan pendekatan Tinjauan Pustaka yang sistematis, penelitian ini mensintesis temuan dari 10 artikel peer-review yang diterbitkan antara tahun 2022-2026, dipilih melalui Google Scholar dan SINTA 2-4 jurnal terindeks menggunakan kata kunci: literasi, pra-membaca, dan PAUD. Data dianalisis melalui sintesis tematik yang melibatkan pengkodean baris demi baris, pembentukan tema deskriptif, dan pengembangan tema analitis studi silang. Temuan tersebut mengungkapkan bahwa kesadaran fonologis berfungsi sebagai prasyarat paling mendasar untuk kesiapan membaca dan harus mendahului pengenalan huruf secara visual. Pendekatan fonik secara konsisten terbukti lebih efektif daripada metode konvensional, karena secara bermakna menghubungkan simbol huruf dengan suara dalam lingkungan belajar yang alami dan tidak menekan. Media interaktif seperti kartu surat, roda baca, dan alat alfabet rol secara signifikan meningkatkan motivasi anak-anak dan kemampuan mengenali huruf. Lingkungan keluarga juga muncul sebagai faktor eksternal penting yang mendukung perkembangan literasi dini. Disarankan agar pendidik memulai pengajaran literasi dari pengenalan suara sebelum memperkenalkan simbol tertulis, menggunakan media interaktif dan berbasis permainan, dan melibatkan keluarga sebagai mitra aktif dalam stimulasi literasi dini untuk memastikan pembelajaran yang holistik dan sesuai dengan perkembangan.

Abstract

This study is motivated by the uneven impact of infrastructure investment on regional economic growth in Indonesia, where some regions are able to capture the benefits of infrastructure development more quickly than others. The study aims to examine the direction of infrastructure investment policy in Indonesia and explain how such investment affects regional economic growth. This article applies a descriptive qualitative approach through literature review and policy document analysis, including the 2025–2029 National Medium-Term Development Plan, state budget documents, Statistics Indonesia publications, and national as well as international empirical studies on infrastructure and regional growth. The findings show that infrastructure investment contributes to regional growth by reducing logistics costs, improving interregional connectivity, expanding market access, increasing business productivity, and generating interregional spillover effects. However, these benefits are not evenly distributed. Regions with stronger economic bases, better institutional quality, and greater fiscal capacity tend to gain more rapidly than lagging regions. Roads, ports, airports, electricity, and digital infrastructure also produce different effects depending on each region’s economic structure. Therefore, infrastructure investment policy should emphasize project quality, intermodal connectivity, asset maintenance, blended financing, and integration with human capital development and local productive sectors. The study concludes that infrastructure investment is more effective in promoting regional economic growth when it is designed according to territorial needs rather than merely distributing physical projects across regions.
