Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of snowball throwing cooperative learning assisted by flashcards on student learning outcomes on Pancasila as the state ideology in fifth grade at Al-Huda Islamic Elementary School. This study used aa quantitative approach with an experimental method using a one group pretest-posttest design. The sample in this study was all 30 fifth grade students. The results showed that before the treatment, the average student learning outcome score in the pretest was 54, which is considered low. After the treatment, the average student learning outcome score in the posttest increased to 86.83, which is considered good. The percentage of student learning completion also increased from 33.33% in the pretest to 93.33% in the posttest. Based on the results of the hypothesis test analysis using a paired sample t-test, a significance value (Sig. 2-tailed) of <0.001 was obtained at a significance level of α = 0.005. This indicates that the significance value is less than 0.05, so H0 is rejected and Ha is accepted. Thus, it can be concluded that the implementation of cooperative learning using flashcards has a significant effect on improving student learning outcomes.

Abstract

Storytelling ability is one of the essential competencies in Indonesian language learning at the elementary school level, particularly for lower-grade students (grades I, II, and III). Lower-grade students often face difficulties constructing coherent and sequential story plots due to their cognitive development, which remains at the concrete operational stage. Picture media emerges as a pedagogical solution that can facilitate students' visual thinking processes in building narrative coherence. This study aims to analyze the role of picture media in building the coherence of storytelling plots for lower-grade elementary school students through a systematic literature review of 12 relevant research articles published between 2020 and 2024 with full access. The findings reveal that various types of picture media—sequential pictures, illustrated series, picture illustrations, and literacy-based picture media—have consistently proven to help lower-grade students organize their story plots in a sequential and chronological manner. Picture media functions as visual scaffolding that provides concrete thinking frameworks, stimulates imagination, and encourages the use of clear narrative structures. The implication of these findings is the importance of integrating structured picture media in Indonesian language learning for lower-grade elementary school classrooms.

Abstract

This study is motivated by the low level of disciplinary character among elementary school students, which needs to be developed through continuous positive habituation. The purpose of this study is to describe the improvement of students’ disciplinary character through daily habituation in elementary schools. The method used is qualitative with a descriptive approach. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation involving teachers and students. The observation was conducted at SDN Tegalpanjang, Sukajadi Village, Cimanggu District. The results show that daily habituation activities such as arriving on time, praying before and after learning, maintaining environmental cleanliness, obeying school rules, as well as routine activities such as flag ceremonies, religious activities, literacy activities, and morning exercise contribute to improving students’ disciplinary character. The consistent implementation of these activities, supported by teachers’ role modeling, has a positive influence on students’ behavioral changes. Students begin to show awareness in following rules without coercion, so that disciplinary values can be internalized in their daily lives. Therefore, daily habituation is an effective effort to improve students’ disciplinary character in elementary schools.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of service quality and trust on online purchasing decisions through the Tokopedia application among students of Universitas Muhammadiyah Makassar. This research employed a quantitative approach with a sample of 103 respondents obtained through questionnaire distribution using a Likert scale. The data analysis method used was multiple linear regression with the assistance of SPSS, including validity, reliability, and classical assumption tests. The results indicate that service quality has a positive and significant effect on purchasing decisions with a significance value of 0.049 < 0.05. Trust has a positive but insignificant influence on purchasing decisions with a significance value of 0.067 > 0.05. Simultaneously, service quality and trust influence online purchases with a significance value of 0.000 < 0.05 in the F test. Thus, service quality is a significant determinant factor, while trust has a positive but not yet significant influence on online purchasing decisions of students at Universitas Muhammadiyah Makassar.

Abstract

The utilization of technology in learning is one of the efforts to improve the quality of the learning process and students’ learning outcomes. Web-based learning media, such as Google Sites, enable the presentation of materials in a more interactive and engaging way, helping students understand abstract mathematical concepts such as fractions. This study aims to determine the effect of using Google Sites web-based interactive media on students’ learning outcomes in fraction material for fourth-grade students at SD Negeri 2 Pagar Air, Aceh Besar. This study employed a quantitative approach with a pre-experimental design using a one-group pretest–posttest design. The sample consisted of 22 fourth-grade students. Data were collected through learning outcome tests in the form of pretest and posttest. Data analysis was conducted using a paired sample t-test to determine the difference in students’ learning outcomes before and after the use of the media. The results of data analysis showed that the significance value (Sig. 2-tailed) was 0.000 < 0.05, indicating a significant difference. Therefore, Ha was accepted and H₀ was rejected. It can be concluded that the use of Google Sites web-based interactive media has a significant effect on improving students’ learning outcomes in fraction material. This study recommends the use of web-based learning media in the mathematics learning process in elementary schools.

Abstract

Rendahnya hasil belajar matematika siswa kelas IV SD Negeri 1 Pagar Air Aceh Besar pada materi perkalian, khususnya perkalian bersusun panjang dan pendek, menunjukkan bahwa pemahaman konsep siswa masih belum optimal. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penerapan pendekatan Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) dengan Blok Dienes terhadap hasil belajar siswa. Pendekatan RME mengaitkan konsep matematika dengan situasi nyata melalui tahapan situational, model of, model for, dan formal knowledge, sedangkan Blok Dienes digunakan sebagai media konkret untuk membantu memahami nilai tempat dan proses perkalian. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan jenis Pre-Experimental dan desain One Group Pretest-Posttest Design. Sampel penelitian berjumlah 25 siswa kelas IV. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui tes pretest dan posttest, sedangkan analisis data menggunakan uji normalitas dan uji paired sample t-test. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa nilai rata-rata pretest siswa sebesar 58,4 meningkat menjadi rata-rata nilai posttest sebesar 79,6 dengan nilai signifikansi 0,000 (p < 0,05), sehingga terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan dari penerapan pendekatan RME berbantuan Blok Dienes terhadap hasil belajar siswa. Dampak penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa pembelajaran yang mengaitkan konteks nyata dan penggunaan media konkret dapat meningkatkan pemahaman konsep matematika siswa. Oleh karena itu, disarankan agar guru menerapkan pendekatan RME berbantuan Blok Dienes dalam pembelajaran untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa secara lebih optimal.

Abstract

This study, entitled "Deep Learning Strategies in Developing Digital Content Writing Skills on Social Media," aims to analyze how deep learning strategies play a role in developing digital content writing skills in the community. This study used a qualitative method with a descriptive approach to explore individuals' experiences, processes, and actual practices in writing on social media. Data were obtained through observation and questionnaires using a purposive sampling technique from active social media users. The results showed that digital content writing activities reflect deep learning principles, such as cognitive engagement, reflection, and experience-based meaning construction. Respondents not only wrote spontaneously but also considered the audience, message clarity, and presentation context, indicating the presence of critical thinking processes. However, obstacles were still encountered such as difficulty finding ideas, choosing diction, and low self-confidence. The conclusion of this study confirms that deep learning strategies are relevant and effective in optimizing digital content writing skills, so that writing activities on social media can function as a meaningful and sustainable learning process.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of STEAM-based (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics) learning through a mini terrarium project in improving elementary students' science skills. The research employed a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental design (one-group pretest-posttest) involving 17 third-grade students at SD Negeri 112 Pekanbaru. The instruments used included learning outcome tests (pretest and posttest) and STEAM skills observation sheets. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, N-Gain test, and paired sample t-test. The results showed an increase in the average student score from 56 to 70, with an N-Gain value of 0.29 categorized as low but approaching moderate. Qualitatively, students demonstrated improvements in observation, classification, collaboration, and communication skills. Project-based learning through mini terrarium creation proved effective in helping students understand ecosystem concepts concretely and increasing learning engagement. Therefore, the STEAM approach has strong potential as an innovative learning strategy to enhance elementary students’ science process skills.

Abstract

This study was motivated by the importance of developing students collaboration skills in science learning at the elementary school level. STEAM-based science learning through pinwheel lantern media was selected as an alternative learning approach that can provide active, concrete, creative, and collaborative learning experiences. This study aimed to analyze the effectiveness of STEAM-based science learning through pinwheel lantern media in improving the collaboration skills of fifth-grade students at SD Negeri 112 Pekanbaru. This study used a quantitative approach with a one-group pretest-posttest design. The research subjects consisted of 29 fifth-grade students. Data were collected through pretests, posttests, and observation sheets on collaboration skills. The data were analyzed using mean scores and N-Gain. The results showed that STEAM-based science learning through pinwheel lantern media was able to improve students collaboration skills in the moderate category. Students showed improvement in group participation, task distribution, discussion, mutual assistance, and responsible task completion. Therefore, STEAM-based science learning through pinwheel lantern media can be used as an alternative science learning approach to develop elementary school students collaboration skills.

Abstract

This study was motivated by the low mathematics learning outcomes of fourth-grade elementary school students on the topic of plane figures. The problem was influenced by teacher-centered learning practices, monotonous instructional methods, and the limited use of concrete learning media. This study aimed to improve students’ mathematics learning outcomes through the implementation of the Discovery Learning model assisted by concrete media. The research employed Classroom Action Research (CAR) conducted in two cycles, each consisting of planning, action, observation, and reflection stages. The study was carried out at SD N 1 Datah involving 16 fourth-grade students. Data were collected through learning outcome tests and observation sheets, then analyzed using descriptive quantitative and qualitative techniques. The findings indicated that the application of the Discovery Learning model supported by concrete media was able to enhance students’ mathematics learning outcomes, as reflected in the increase in the average scores and the percentage of learning mastery from the first cycle to the second cycle. Therefore, the use of the Discovery Learning model assisted by concrete media is considered effective in improving mathematics learning outcomes on the topic of plane figures for fourth-grade students.
