Abstract

This study aims to describe the results of the analysis of Descriptive Study of PGSD'4A Students' Learning Motivation in Following Educational Management Courses at PGRI Yogyakarta University. The results of the analysis show a lack of enthusiasm and motivation of students in participating in educational management learning activities. This is because some students consider the material studied to be theoretical and less interesting, resulting in low participation in learning. In addition, differences in learning interests, learning methods used by lecturers and the learning environment can also affect student motivation in attending lectures. Student learning motivation needs attention because it has an influence on student involvement during the learning process, therefore researchers are interested in conducting this research using a qualitative approach with descriptive methods, the subjects of this study include PGSD'4A students and data collection techniques are carried out by means of observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. Data analysis is carried out using the interactive model of miles & Huberman.

Abstract

Bahasa dalam karya sastra tidak hanya mengandung makna denotatif, tetapi juga makna konotatif yang mampu memperkaya penyampaian pesan dan nilai estetis. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan bentuk makna konotatif yang terdapat dalam cerpen anak karya peserta Kelas Menulis Gendis Sewu. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif deskriptif dengan pendekatan semantik. Sumber data penelitian berupa lima cerpen berjudul Rumah Gembi, Pohon Toleransi di SD Nusantara, Rayakan Ulang Tahun, Ludruk di Desa, dan Minggu Bersama Budaya. Data penelitian berupa kata, frasa, atau ungkapan yang mengandung makna konotatif. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui teknik baca dan catat, sedangkan analisis data dilakukan dengan mengidentifikasi, mengklasifikasi, dan menginterpretasikan data sesuai konsep makna konotatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ditemukan 30 data makna konotatif yang dapat dikelompokkan ke dalam konotasi emosi, konotasi situasional, konotasi nilai sosial, dan konotasi budaya. Bentuk yang paling dominan adalah konotasi emosi yang menggambarkan perasaan tokoh dalam cerita. Penggunaan makna konotatif dalam cerpen anak berfungsi memperindah bahasa, memperkuat penyampaian emosi, serta menanamkan nilai moral dan budaya kepada pembaca.

Abstract

Gross motor development is a fundamental aspect in early childhood growth that supports the ability to interact actively and confidently with their environment. Gross motor activities include large muscle movements such as walking, running, jumping, and climbing, which not only improve physical strength and body coordination but also contribute to children's social, emotional, and cognitive development. This study aims to analyze the effect of kinesiology movements in supporting the development of gross motor skills in early childhood at Aisyiyah 1 Kindergarten, Bandar Lampung. The method used is direct observation of gross motor activities using movements such as star jumps, flying birds, body twists, walking horses, and jumping rabbits. The results of the study showed that these activities were effective in improving coordination, balance, and motor control in children aged 5-6 years, in accordance with the stages of gross motor development supported by Piaget's theory of motor and cognitive development and the dynamic system theory in kinesiology. Overall, these activities help children achieve basic motor competencies that underlie more complex physical and social skills in the future.

Abstract

Charactereducation has become a strategic priority in Indonesian primary schools as an effort to shape students' positive behavioral outcomes. This study examines the influence of character education on student behavior in elementary school settings using an ex post facto research design. Data were collected through a Likert-scale questionnaire administered to 60 fifth-grade students across three state elementary schools in West Java. The findings reveal that character education significantly influences students' social behavior, discipline, honesty, responsibility, courtesy, environmental care, and cooperative attitudes. A strong positive correlation (r = 0.72, p < 0.01) was found between the intensity of character education implementation and the overall quality of student behavior. These results confirm that systematic, consistent, and holistic integration of character values into school routines is a powerful lever for building behaviorally sound students. The study recommends that schools strengthen teachermodeling, family partnerships, and ongoing character-based habituation as the core pillars of an effective character education program.

Abstract

This study discusses discipline character education in elementary schools. Discipline is one of the fundamental character values that needs to be cultivated from an early age to shape responsible and quality individuals. This research uses a qualitative descriptive approach through a literature study. The findings show that discipline character education in elementary schools can be implemented through habituation, teacher role modeling, school culture development, and integration in the learning process. Success factors include consistent rule enforcement, parental support, and a conducive school environment, while the main challenges include inconsistent rule application and weak coordination between schools and families. It is concluded that discipline character education requires a holistic approach involving all school stakeholders.

Abstract

This study discusses the transformation of electric bicycles from transportation tools into means of livelihood in Solok City. This phenomenon can be seen through the use of electric bicycles by mobile culinary vendors such as coffee sellers, ampera food sellers, and fried chicken vendors. This research used a qualitative method with a descriptive approach through observation, interviews, and documentation. The study applies the concept of technology appropriation by Roger Silverstone and Eric Hirsch within the framework of Science and Technology Studies (STS). The results show that electric bicycles have transformed into mobile trading tools that support community economic activities because they are more practical, flexible, and cost-efficient. This phenomenon reflects a process of technology appropriation, where technology is reinterpreted according to the social and economic needs of society.

Abstract

This study aims to describe and analyze the role of the school environment in increasing the caring attitude of Christian students at SMA Negeri 3 Surakarta. Using a qualitative approach with a descriptive case study design, data were collected through non-participatory observation, semi-structured interviews with a Christian Religious Education teacher and twelve Christian students, and documentation. Data validation was carried out through source and method triangulation, while data analysis followed an interactive model consisting of data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The results showed that the school environment plays a strategic role in shaping students' caring characters. This is evident through the role of teachers as role models, a positive school culture, and inclusive social interactions. Christian values of love serve as the spiritual foundation that motivates students to care for others. In addition, the synergy between families and churches reinforces the internalisation of these values. Despite facing challenges such as modern individualism and media social usage, social experiences through collaborative learning, extracurricular activities, and community service effectively transform the concept of love into concrete social actions.

Abstract

Elementary school students’ problem-solving abilities are still relatively low because the learning process tends to be teacher-centered and does not actively involve students in discovering learning concepts. This condition causes students to have difficulty thinking critically, creatively, and independently in solving problems. This study aims to determine the effect of the inquiry learning model on students’ problem-solving abilities in elementary schools. This study employed a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental research design. The subjects of the study were elementary school students divided into experimental and control groups. Data collection was conducted using a test method in the form of problem-solving ability questions. The data were analyzed using prerequisite tests, namely normality and homogeneity tests, followed by hypothesis testing using the t-test. The results showed that the inquiry learning model had a positive effect on students’ problem-solving abilities. Students who learned through the inquiry learning model demonstrated better critical thinking skills, active questioning, and the ability to find solutions to given problems compared to students who learned through conventional learning. Therefore, the inquiry learning model is effective in improving elementary school students’ problem-solving abilities.

Abstract

The primary problem in this research is the low numeracy skills of Group B children at TK Negeri 01 Lembah Gumanti Kabupaten Solok due to the use of monotonous conventional methods. This study aims to improve early childhood counting abilities through the application of giant snakes and ladders game media. The research method used is Classroom Action Research (CAR) conducted in three cycles with 20 research subjects. Data were collected through observation and documentation techniques. The results showed a significant increase in classical completeness, from 20% in the pre-cycle stage to 90% at the end of cycle III. The use of giant snakes and ladders media effectively bridges abstract mathematical concepts into concrete ones through enjoyable visual and kinesthetic stimulation. It is recommended for educators to integrate this physical activity-based educational game tool (APE) to meaningfully optimize children's cognitive potential without mental pressure.

Abstract

This study discusses the changes in cultural identity among the younger generation of the Anak Dalam Tribe in Nalo Tantan District, Merangin Regency. This study aims to determine the forms of cultural identity changes and the factors that influence these changes. This study uses a qualitative method with a descriptive approach. Data collection techniques were carried out through observation, interviews, and documentation. The results of the study indicate that there has been a change in cultural identity among the younger generation of the Anak Dalam Tribe, which is evident in their dress, language use, social patterns, and the decreasing involvement of the younger generation in traditional activities. These changes are influenced by developments in technology, education, social media, and social relations with outsiders. However, some young people still strive to maintain local culture and participate in traditional activities in the community. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that modernization has influenced the changes in the cultural identity of the younger generation of the Anak Dalam Tribe, so the role of families, traditional leaders, and the community is needed in maintaining local culture so that it can survive amidst the changing times.
