Abstract

Cement integrity in oil and gas well cementing operations is critically important, particularly under high-pressure and high-temperature (HPHT) conditions and in the presence of gas indications. The main challenges include degradation of cement quality due to changes in slurry physical properties such as strength retrogression, as well as the risk of micro-annulus formation and channeling that can lead to gas migration. This study aims to optimize slurry design to enhance cement integrity and prevent gas migration. The method employed is a laboratory-based experimental approach with quantitative analysis of slurry physical properties. The results indicate an optimal formulation with a density of 17 ppg, pumpable rheology, filtration loss of 35 ml, thickening time of 6 hours 30 minutes, 0% free water, SGS transition time of 2 minutes (100–500 lb/100 ft²), cement expansion of 0.651%, compressive strength of 4910 psi, and cement hydration that passed gas migration testing. This formulation is proven to be effective in maintaining cement integrity under high-temperature conditions.

Abstract

The Archimedes screw turbine is a promising technology for low-head hydropower because of its simple construction and low maintenance requirements. This study investigated the performance of a three-pitch Archimedes screw turbine by varying shaft inclination angles (31°, 39°, and 47°) under five flow discharge rates (0.004704–0.014113 m³/s). Experiments were conducted using a laboratory-scale test rig. Flow discharge, shaft rotational speed, and generator output were measured using a weir meter, tachometer, and multimeter. Increasing flow discharge consistently increased shaft rotational speed and turbine output power. The maximum output power of 61 W was achieved at a 47° inclination angle with a discharge of 0.014113 m³/s, while the highest efficiency of 71% was obtained at the same angle with 0.007057 m³/s. Efficiency decreased beyond the optimum operating condition because of hydraulic losses, including turbulence, leakage flow, and backflow. Optimizing shaft inclination and operating discharge is essential for improving low-head hydropower performance.

Abstract

The development of warehouse automation systems has encouraged the implementation of Automated Guided Vehicles (AGVs) to improve material handling efficiency. However, an inappropriate staging area location may increase material movement distance and operational cycle time in the auto inbound system. This study aims to determine the optimal staging area location in an AGV-based auto inbound system using Load Distance and Cycle Time analysis. The research was conducted at the RMPM warehouse of PT Sanghiang Perkasa by evaluating several staging area alternatives based on material movement distance and AGV operational time parameters. The results show that STG 1 is the optimal location with a cycle time value of 176.274 seconds/cycle, lower than STG 2 at 228.708 seconds/cycle and STG 3 at 295.344 seconds/cycle. The optimization of staging area location can improve the operational efficiency of the auto inbound system

Abstract

This study aims to develop a business process digitalization model that can assist Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in gradually improving operational efficiency according to their level of organizational readiness. The study employs a Design Science Research (DSR) approach involving problem identification, literature review, business process mapping, formulation of model dimensions, development of implementation stages, and conceptual validation by experts. The findings indicate that MSME digitalization should be viewed as a business process transformation rather than merely the adoption of digital applications. The proposed model consists of five key dimensions: organizational readiness, process standardization, digitalization priorities, data integration, and performance measurement. The implementation framework is structured into four levels, ranging from administrative digitalization and transaction integration to operational control integration and data-driven decision-making. The model can serve as both a diagnostic tool and a digitalization roadmap that takes into account the resource constraints commonly faced by MSMEs. Further research is required to empirically test the model across MSMEs in various sectors and to assess its impact on processing time, costs, productivity, quality, and decision-making accuracy.

Abstract

Mr. Teguh’s Tofu Factory, established in 2003, is an example of a home-based industry that employs a make-to-stock production system. The reactive, non-scientifically based system for controlling raw material inventory resulted in stockouts and overstock during the January–December 2025 period. This study aims to determine the safety stock, reorder point, and optimal order quantity using the Silver Meal (SM) method. Demand forecasting was performed using the Weighted Moving Average. The results show that the Silver Meal method yields a safety stock of 663 kg and a reorder point of 4,836 kg. The application of this method resulted in a 75% reduction in ordering costs (from Rp1,027,200 to Rp256,800) and a 100% reduction in storage costs (from Rp270,675 to Rp0), or a non-material operational cost savings of 80.21%, thereby reducing the Total Inventory Cost (TIC) from Rp1,862,297,875 to Rp1,853,286,800. This study demonstrates that the integration of the WMA and Silver Meal forecasting methods can be an effective solution for optimizing soybean raw material inventory policies in the home-based tofu industry

Abstract

Gedebage District, Bandung City, is predominantly underlain by highly plastic soft clay, which may cause stability and deformation issues during excavation works. This study evaluates a basement excavation supported by a secant pile wall system and analyzes the influence of construction methods on lateral wall deformation and excavation stability. Numerical modeling was performed using the Finite Element Method with the Hardening Soil model. Soil parameters were determined from CPTu data and correlations from relevant literature due to limited site data. The construction methods examined include strutting, open cut, and temporary berm under undrained and drained conditions. The evaluation was based on a maximum lateral deformation limit of 1%H and a minimum Factor of Safety of 1.5 in accordance with SNI 8460:2017. The results indicate that strutting is the safest and most effective method for controlling deformation and maintaining excavation stability at the study site.

Abstract

An excavator (specifically a pull-shovel) is a machine designed to excavate material located below its own operating level. Hydraulic cylinders are critical components that actuate attachments such as the boom, arm, and bucket. Among these attachments, the bucket cylinder is the most prone to failure because it interacts directly with the material being excavated. Frequent failures lead to increased downtime and disrupt production processes. The primary causes of bucket cylinder failure in the Caterpillar Cat 336 EL excavator are seal and O-ring damage, as well as oil contamination, both of which result in cylinder leakage. Maintenance measures taken to address these failures include: (i) replacing the seal kit on the cylinder head and piston to prevent pressure loss; (ii) inspecting the internal brass bushing—if the bushing is worn or damaged (which can cause new seals to leak), it must be replaced; and (iii) cleaning the cylinder and rectifying issues related to oil contamination.

Abstract

Sikapak Barat Village, located in the North Pariaman District of Pariaman City, generates a significant amount of household plastic waste—averaging 50 kg per day. Much of this waste remains unprocessed and relies on waste collection systems, creating a risk of accumulation and environmental pollution in residential and coastal areas. This situation highlights the need for simple, appropriate technology that can be directly implemented by the village community. A plastic waste shredder is a mechanical device designed to cut and break down plastic into specific sizes; the "crusher" type is one of the most commonly used varieties. A crusher-type plastic waste shredder with a capacity of 12 kg/hour has been successfully designed and built according to specifications. The machine operates exactly as planned, and testing confirms that it functions as intended, achieving a shredding capacity of 12 kg/hour.

Abstract

This study examines the effects of Digital Transformation and Neuromarketing on the Purchase Decision of Bolu Cermai products, with Digital Cognitive Agility and Implicit Institutional Trust as mediating variables. A quantitative approach was employed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) with SmartPLS. The measurement model showed that all constructs met the required reliability and convergent validity criteria, with Cronbach’s Alpha values ranging from 0.874 to 0.894, Composite Reliability values from 0.908 to 0.922, and Average Variance Extracted values from 0.664 to 0.703. The structural model indicated that Digital Transformation and Neuromarketing explained 28.5% of the variance in Digital Cognitive Agility and 24.3% of the variance in Implicit Institutional Trust. These findings indicate that the effectiveness of Bolu Cermai marketing is not determined solely by digitalization and marketing stimuli, but also by consumers’ ability to process digital information and their trust in the transaction system. The study provides practical implications for MSMEs to strengthen digital experiences, improve marketing communication, and enhance transaction credibility to support consumer purchase decisions.

Abstract

This study analyzes the implementation of Class A aggregate base course spreading work on the Sei Pagar–Rantau Kasih–Batas Pelalawan road construction project in Kampar Regency. The analysis covers material composition, hauling and spreading stages, equipment use, compaction methods, and field density test results. A descriptive quantitative approach was used through field observation, technical interviews, document review, literature study, and documentation. The base course was designed with a thickness of 20 cm and a mixture consisting of 30% crushed stone 2–3 cm, 25% crushed stone 1–2 cm, 35% stone dust, and 10% sand. The work stages included hauling, dumping, spreading with a motor grader, watering, and compaction with a vibratory roller. A sand cone test at one point produced a field density of 100.01% relative to laboratory density and met the applicable technical requirement. The results indicate that the spreading and compaction procedures generally complied with the requirements; however, work-safety controls, traffic signs, gradation inspection, and the consistency of quality testing need to be strengthened. Recommendations focus on improving material, moisture, thickness, compaction-pass, and quality-documentation controls.
