Abstract

The development of warehouse automation systems has encouraged the implementation of Automated Guided Vehicles (AGVs) to improve material handling efficiency. However, an inappropriate staging area location may increase material movement distance and operational cycle time in the auto inbound system. This study aims to determine the optimal staging area location in an AGV-based auto inbound system using Load Distance and Cycle Time analysis. The research was conducted at the RMPM warehouse of PT Sanghiang Perkasa by evaluating several staging area alternatives based on material movement distance and AGV operational time parameters. The results show that STG 1 is the optimal location with a cycle time value of 176.274 seconds/cycle, lower than STG 2 at 228.708 seconds/cycle and STG 3 at 295.344 seconds/cycle. The optimization of staging area location can improve the operational efficiency of the auto inbound system.

Abstract

White turmeric (Curcuma mangga Val.) is one of Indonesia’s local rhizome plants containing curcuminoids and polyphenolic compounds, which have potential as natural sources of antioxidants. This study aimed to evaluate the effect of different levels of lemongrass extract addition on antioxidant activity, physicochemical characteristics, and consumer preference of white turmeric instant beverages, as well as to determine the optimal formulation. The beverage was prepared using 500 ml of white turmeric extract with the addition of lemongrass extract at concentrations of 100, 200, 300, and 400 ml through a crystallization method. A Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with two replications was applied, and hedonic testing was conducted using 20 semi-trained panelists. Data were analyzed using Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) followed by Duncan’s Multiple Range Test (DMRT) at a 5% significance level. The results showed that lemongrass extract addition significantly increased antioxidant activity and color intensity and affected aroma preference, but did not significantly influence moisture content. The formulation with 100 ml lemongrass extract obtained the highest sensory acceptance, while the 400 ml formulation showed the highest antioxidant activity. The optimal formulation was recommended at 100–200 ml lemongrass extract addition to produce a functional beverage with a balance between health benefits and consumer acceptability.

Abstract

The rapid growth of Indonesia's construction industry has increased construction waste generation, particularly in superstructure work such as columns, beams, floor slabs, formwork, reinforcement, and concrete casting. The 3R concept (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle) is recommended by various regulations, yet its field effectiveness requires further study. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of 3R-based construction waste management, identify waste types with management potential, and assess project actors' roles and perceptions. The study was conducted at the Pasar Baru Ciparay Development Project using a descriptive quantitative approach with a 5-point Likert-scale questionnaire administered to 70 respondents, tested for validity (Pearson product moment) and reliability (Cronbach's Alpha). Results show reduce effectiveness of 82%, reuse 87%, recycle 87%, and overall 3R effectiveness of 88%, averaging 86% (very effective category). The largest waste originated from formwork timber (30%) and reinforcement steel offcuts (29%).

Abstract

This research was conducted due to the high failure rate of Agile methods in construction projects in Yogyakarta, caused by clashes with traditional work systems. The objective is to identify the root causes of this problem and design a solution. Through a pilot study, data from expert questionnaires were analyzed quantitatively. The causal framework results indicate that failures are triggered by the interaction of regulatory, organizational, behavioral, technological, and financial barriers, which lead to schedule delays and rework. As a solution, a hybrid improvement framework is proposed, which includes: (1) hybrid governance and contracting that balances Waterfall (official documents/schedules) with Agile (team coordination), (2) incremental behavioral changes, (3) integration of digital monitoring tools, and (4) small-scale pilot evaluations prior to widespread implementation. This approach effectively bridges the rigid administrative demands with the need for speed in the field

Abstract

This study aims to identify potential failures in the inspection and repair process at AHASS Toba Motor Workshop, determine the level of risk using the Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) method, identify the root causes using Root Cause Analysis (RCA), and propose improvement recommendations. This research employed a descriptive quantitative approach. Data were collected through observations, interviews, documentation, and questionnaires distributed to five respondents consisting of the workshop manager, cashier, senior mechanic, and junior mechanic. The FMEA method was applied by assessing severity, occurrence, and detection to calculate the Risk Priority Number (RPN), while RCA with the 5 Whys Analysis technique was used to identify the root causes of the highest-priority failures. The results indicate that several failure modes in the inspection and repair process have high-risk levels and require immediate corrective actions. The primary root causes include inadequate mechanic accuracy, limited technical experience and competence, insufficient supervision of standard operating procedure (SOP) implementation, and ineffective final inspection procedures.
