Abstract

The water-gas shift (WGS) reaction is a crucial process for increasing hydrogen (H₂) production by minimizing carbon monoxide (CO) content. It is widely applied in the petrochemical industry to reduce CO levels in syngas produced from hydrocarbon reforming. Conventionally, this reaction is conducted in two stages: high-temperature shift (HTS) and low-temperature shift (LTS). However, this approach presents both technical and economic limitations. To address these issues, catalysts capable of operating optimally at intermediate temperatures—referred to as medium-temperature shift (MTS)—have been developed. The scope of discussion in this article consists of catalyst development challenges such as sintering, deactivation, and side reactions. This review is intended to serve as a reference for the development of efficient WGS catalysts under MTS conditions, along with modification strategies aimed at enhancing their performance based on current research findings.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the quality control of wooden window products at CV Arafah Jaya Purwakarta, which recorded a defect rate of 22%. The Fault Tree Analysis (FTA) method is used to identify root causes of failures, while the Failure mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA) method prioritizes corrective actions based on the Risk Priority Number (RPN). Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation from January 2024 to February 2025. The analysis identified five main defect types: brittle wood, imprecise joints, incorrect dimensions, insect infestation, and peeling paint. Brittle wood had the highest RPN value (315), making it the top priority for improvement. Corrective suggestions were formulated using the 5W+1H approach to develop systematic solutions. The combined application of FTA and FMEA proved effective in reducing defect potential and improving product quality.

Abstract

The high number of workers at PT. XYZ's central distribution warehouse, without a systematically structured HSE system based on risk analysis, increases the vulnerability to workplace accidents. This aligns with national data from BPJS TK, which recorded 162,327 work accident cases from January to May 2024. This study aims to identify potential hazards, analyze risk levels using the HIRADC method, trace the root causes through Fault Tree Analysis (FTA), and design an HSE Plan tailored to actual warehouse conditions. The initial assessment showed 50% of risks were classified as high. After implementing risk controls based on the hierarchy of controls, high-risk levels dropped to 8.3%, while low-risk levels increased to 79.2%, indicating successful risk minimization. These findings emphasize the importance of a systematic HSE Plan to reduce workplace risks effectively.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of Lean Manufacturing and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) on employee performance through the mediation of 5S in the Operations Department of PT. XYZ. The method used is quantitative with a SEM-PLS approach using the SmartPLS 4 application. Data was collected from 217 respondents. The results indicate that Lean and PPE do not have a significant direct effect on employee performance. However, both have a significant effect on the implementation of 5S. Lean has a t-statistic of 8.023 and PPE has a t-statistic of 10.116, both of which are > t-table 1.64 and p-value < 0.05. The implementation of 5S also significantly influences employee performance (t-statistic = 11.122). Additionally, 5S significantly mediates the relationship between Lean and PPE and employee performance, with t-statistics of 6.518 and 7.365, respectively. These findings indicate that 5S plays a crucial role in linking work systems and safety to employee performance.

Abstract

The development of construction services in Indonesia has currently grown, this is marked by the many construction projects. Management is the process of planning, organizing, guiding, and supervising the efforts of organizational members and the use of resources to achieve other organizational goals (Handoko, 2016), while a project is a series of events that are carefully designed, from the beginning to the end of the project aimed at achieving clear goals. The purpose of this study is to analyze the differences in time management using the PERT method and the CPM method. From the results of the study, the optimistic time needed to complete the work using the PERT method, a probability value of 90.82% was obtained for the work to be completed in 85 days or less. From the results of the study, it is known that there are 4 critical paths in the Construction of the Kendari City Hospital Polyclinic Building using the CPM method.
