Abstract

Neck pain can be caused by ergonomic factors such as doing activities that cause the neck to be in a static position and experiencing repetitive motion for a long time. This study aims to determine the prevalence and risk factors for neck pain in college students. An analytic observational study with a cross-sectional approach was used to 231 UIN Jakarta Public Health students aged ≥18 years. Data was collected through an online questionnaire and analyzed by the chi-square test. The results showed the prevalence of neck pain in college students was 25% with the duration of using a laptop/computer as a risk factor that was significantly associated with the incidence of neck pain (pv = 0.02). The prevalence of neck pain in college students is still quite high. There is a need for education related to risk factors for neck pain among students, especially those who conduct online lectures.

Abstract

One method of contraception that has high effectiveness is progestin contraception. One type of progestin, namely depot medroxyprogesterone acetate, can stimulate the appetite control center in the hypothalamus, causing an increase in appetite and body weight. The number that becomes the standard assessment to determine whether a body weight is classified as normal, underweight, overweight, or obese is the body mass index (BMI). This research aims to identify the relationship between estradiol levels and body mass index. This type of research is analytic. The research sample was 45 DMPA user. Data analysis used discriminant analysis. The results showed that estradiol levels of 56.4 ± 19.3 pg/mL tended to have normal BMI. Estradiol levels of 73.3 ± 47.7 pg/mL tend to be overweight. It can be concluded that there is no relationship between estradiol levels and body mass index.

Abstract

Usnic acid is a secondary metabolic compound derived from the genus usnea which has antibacterial activity. This study aims to determine the formulation of usnic acid nanocrystalline toothpaste and its antibacterial activity. The formula was prepared in four concentrations, namely F0 (1% usnic acid nanocrystals without preservatives), F1 (preservative only), F2 (2% usnic acid nanocrystals), F3 (3% usnic acid nanocrystals) and F4 (4% usnic acid nanocrystals). All formulas were tested for physicochemical characteristics (organoleptic, homogeneity, pH, foam formation) and tested for antibacterial activity against Streptococcus mutans. The results of the physicochemical characteristics test showed that all formulas met the physicochemical quality requirements of toothpaste. Antibacterial activity test with well method produced inhibition diameters of F0 (12.87 mm), F1 (6.26 mm), F2 (13.79 mm), F3 (14.16 mm), F4 (14.47 mm) and Positive Control 22.26 mm. Statistical results using the One Way ANOVA method at the 95% level of confidence, followed by Duncan's test showed that there was a significant difference in the diameter of inhibition between each formula.
