Abstract

This research aims to describe the application of Project Based Learning model in learning to write negotiation texts for E.3 phase students. The approach used in this research is a qualitative approach, a descriptive research type. The research data are in the form of words, phrases, sentences, and paragraphs that describe the application of the Project Based Learning model. The data source for this research is the Indonesian language subject teacher for phase E.3. The results of this study show that the application of the Project Based Learning model in learning to write negotiation texts for phase E.3 students, in the steps of determining projects, designing project plans, preparing schedules, and monitoring the progress of student projects, is carried out according to the syntax of the Project Based Learning model. However, in the step of testing project results, it has not been carried out optimally due to time constraints, so the teacher assesses based on student project results only. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that the implementation of the Project Based Learning model in writing negotiation texts of E.3 phase students is overall carried out according to the steps of the Project Based Learning model designed in the teaching module.

Abstract

This study aims to identify and classify categories of personality archetypes and to analyze the layers of personality archetypes found and described in the main characters in Mahika novel by Aya. The theory used in this study is Carl Gustav Jung's analytic psychology theory to understand several layers of personality archetypes using the descriptive qualitative method. The data source used is Mahika novel by Aya in the form of narrative texts and character dialogues that describe the personality archetypes of the main characters. The data were obtained using library techniques, reading, and taking notes. The results of the study show that four layers of personality archetypes are reflected in the characters Dara, Aksa, and Deehan as the main characters in the novel. The archetypes include persona, shadow, anima or animus, and the self.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mendeskripsikan penggunaan media video dalam pembelajaran teks prosedur di SMP. Siswa tidak tertarik menulis teks prosedur. Metode penelitian kuantitatif jenis quasi eksperiment desain one group pretest-posttest setting. Teknik analisis data menggunakan statistik inferensial berupa Uji-t yang didahului Uji Homogenitas dan Uji Normalitas. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan terdapat perbedaan signifikan dari hasil pretest dan posttest menulis teks prosedur siswa dimana nilai signifikansi Uji-t yang didapat sebesar 0,00 yang lebih kecil dari 0,05. Hal ini membuktikan bahwa media video efektif digunakan dalam pembelajaran menulis teks prosedur. Penelitian ini terbatas oleh waktu yang singkat. Jadi diharapkan untuk penelitian selanjutnya dapat melakukan penelitian dengan waktu yang lebih lama dan dikombinasikan dengan model atau pendekatan pembelajaran lainnya.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the use of discovery learning and YouTube on the ability to write short stories in class IX SMPN 4 Kota Sukabumi. This study used an experimental method with a one-group pretest-posttest research design. The sample in this study was 26 students, using the purposive sampling technique. The data collection technique was in the form of an essay test that was conducted twice, namely a pretest and a posttest. Based on the results of the analysis, there are several problems that cause students to have difficulty writing short story texts, namely difficulty developing ideas from the given theme, lack of vocabulary mastery, lack of student motivation in writing, and the use of learning models and media that are given less creatively. The results showed that the average score of students when doing the pretest was 53.31, which increased to 76.38 in the posttest results. The calculation results of the test were obtained using the t-test, obtained a t_hitung value of 15.072 and a sig value (2-tailed) of 0.00. Thus, the sig value (2-tailed) <0.05 which indicates that there is a significant difference between the pretest and posttest. Thus, it can be concluded that the use of the discovery learning model and youtube has an effect on the ability of students in class IX SMP Negeri 4 Kota Sukabumi to write short stories.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the characterizations and inner conflicts experienced by the character Alffy. This research method is descriptive qualitative. The research data is in the form of sentences and quotes that contain characterizations and inner conflicts. The data source for this research is the novel Senja Dan Pagi by Alffy Rev and Linka Angelia. Data collection techniques are reading, recording, and analyzing. The analysis techniques of this research are reduction, data presentation, and conclusions. The results of this study are the characterizations of Alffy's character including responsibility, compassionate, kind, and brave. Inner conflict based on Abraham Maslow's theory that found data on the non-fulfillment of five needs, namely physiological, security, belonging and love, appreciation, and self-actualization. Alffy's character experiences an inner conflict due to unfulfilled needs which causes Alffy's character to feel afraid, sad, disappointed, and hopeless.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the implementation of a problem-based learning model in writing news texts in class VII C SMP Negeri 14 Jambi City. This type of research is descriptive, with a qualitative approach. Data collection techniques are observation, interview, and documentation. The data obtained are the results of interviews with Indonesian language teachers who teach in class VII C related to the learning implementation process. The results of this study indicate that the implementation of the problem-based learning model in writing news texts in class VII C SMP Negeri 14 Jambi City is carried out in accordance with the steps of the problem-based learning model. This can be seen in the steps of problem-based learning, namely orienting students to the problem, organizing students to learn, guiding investigations, developing and presenting work, and analyzing and evaluating the problem-solving process.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the development of students' ability to design creative words with cultural wisdom. The source of research data is the ability to string creative words together and design a setting for words with Jambi cultural wisdom. Data analysis techniques were collected with creative, unique, interesting, and valuable words. The analysis of ability data was carried out individually and then analyzed based on the average percentage value of making a series of creative words and designing a word background of Jambi cultural wisdom. The results of the study can be stated as follows: the ability of each student and group to assemble words and design the background of Jambi cultural wisdom is at the level of 'good' ability, and the ability of sales strategies and sales targets is generally 'very good'. Thus, it is suggested, this learning can be a reference for students interested in language-based creative industries.

Abstract

This research is a type of quantitative research with a pre-experimental research design and a one-group pretest-posttest design that aims to determine students' beginning reading skills before and after the use of big book media. Data collection techniques were carried out using tests, observations, and documents. The data analysis techniques used were descriptive analysis and inferential analysis. Based on the results of descriptive statistics, it shows that students' beginning reading skills before using big book media obtained an average of 65.13 in the sufficient category, and their beginning reading skills after using big book media obtained an average of 87.20 in the excellent category. Based on the results of inferential statistics, the results obtained from tcount 5.630. Furthermore, compared with the t distribution table, for an error of 5% and dk = n-1 = 30-1 = 29, we obtained a value of 1.69913. The result of tcount is greater than ttable, so H0 is rejected and H1 is accepted. So it can be concluded that the use of Big Book Media affects the beginning reading skills of grade II students at SD Negeri Lonrong, Gowa Regency.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the application of a project-based learning model to improve the process skills and learning outcomes of class VIII students at Al Falah Islamic Junior High School, Jambi City. The researcher used a research method in the form of classroom action research (PTK), data collection techniques using observation instruments, interviews, documentation, and poster writing assignments. The research subjects were students of class VIIIl 1 SMPl Islam All Falah Kotal Jambi, with a total of 28 students. The variables in the study were the learning process and the results of writing posters using a project-based learning model. The results of this research showed that the pre-action average was less than the minimum completeness criteria (KKMl) set, which is 75. The pre-action average was 72.1, and cycle I reached 77.5. In cycle II, it increased to 80.9 and reached the predetermined limit of completeness. It was concluded that the application of the project-based learning model with observation of the process and product results of learning to write posters showed a significant improvement.

Abstract

This study aims to review the semiotic technique of Sapardi's poetry in five selected poems from Sihir Hujan. This research is qualitative descriptive research. The analysis technique used is the semiotic theory with a heuristic-hermeneutic reading from Michel Riffaterre. Of the five poems that became the object of the study, it was found that almost all of them used implicit metaphors. Sapardi in Sihir Hujan relies on sound elements to form a rhythm, support the mood of the rhyme, and emphasize the meaning of the rhyme. Thus, it can be stated that the meaning of Sapardi's poem is something that is behind the textual expression of the poem. This study also came to the conclusion that the poem "Yang Fana Adalah Waktu" is the only poem out of the five selected poems that can be used as learning material for literature and figurative language for elementary, junior high, and high school education levels.values both in terms of religious values, moral values, social values, and aesthetic values.
