Abstract

This study aims to describe and analyze the main character's personality structure, namely the id, ego, and superego. This study uses a descriptive-qualitative approach to produce data in the form of words and sentences that can be described structurally according to the theory of literary psychology. The source of the data used is the novel Awan-Awan di Atas Kepala Kita using library techniques, notes, and documents. The results of the research show that the id, ego, and superego are the main characters personality components, Ben and Kay. In the two main characters, aspects of Ben's ego personality appear due to the urge of the id trying to control himself, and aspects of Ben's superego are controlled by conscience. Meanwhile, aspects of Kay's ego personality emerged because of the id drive, which overshadowed realistic principles, and Kay's superego aspects were controlled by the existence of ego drives. The strongest aspect of Ben's personality, is the controlling ego, and in Kay's personality, the id aspect dominates.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to describe the effectiveness of using a project-based learning model in writing procedure texts for students in class VII C MTS Laboratorium UIN STS Jambi. The method used in this research is quantitative, with an experimental research type. Data analysis techniques use descriptive and inferential statistics. The results showed that there was a significant difference between the pretest and posttest results in writing student procedure texts, where the value of less than the significance of the t-test obtained was 0.00 <0.05. This proves that the project-based learning model is effective in learning to write procedure texts.

Abstract

This study explores the forms of language and mechanisms of symbolic violence against Indonesian female politicians on social media. It employs a qualitative approach with a critical linguistics framework by analyzing Instagram comments on the accounts of Puan Maharani, Zita Anjani, Widiyanti Putri Wardhana, and Mulan Jameela. Data were collected through documentation, observation, and note-taking techniques and analyzed from Bourdieu’s perspective. The findings reveal that symbolic violence manifests in three main forms: negative labeling, sexist language, and degrading or dismissive expressions. These practices operate through euphemization and censorship, which normalize violence within public discourse. The study highlights that language on social media functions as an instrument of power that perpetuates patriarchal dominance, undermines women’s professional legitimacy, and potentially hinders their political participation.

Abstract

Abstract

This study aims to map the characteristics of task-based language teaching (TBLT) design, the patterns of interaction it facilitates, its contribution to language learning improvement, and the supporting and inhibiting factors in its implementation. The research employed a systematic literature review method with the PRISMA protocol, a mixed-method convergent integrated review design, and narrative-thematic synthesis of 16 empirical articles selected from Scopus, ERIC, and ScienceDirect. The results indicate that effective TBLT design is characterised by meaning-oriented tasks, collaborative work, authentic topics, teacher scaffolding, multimodal resources, and proportional integration of technology. The most dominant interaction pattern is learner–learner, while improvement in language learning appears in the linguistic, communicative, and affective domains. It is concluded that the success of TBLT is determined more by the quality

Abstract

This study aims to describe the comparison of the use of interactive digital games in Indonesian language learning. The digital games studied were Quizizz, Wordwall, and Kahoot! This study used a mixed-method research approach with an experimental research design. Research data were obtained using test, interview, and questionnaire techniques. Qualitative research data was obtained through interviews with students and quantitative data was obtained from test results. The quantitative data that has been obtained is then analyzed using N-gain and tested using the one-way ANOVA method. The results showed that there were differences in students' test results between using Quizziz, Wordwall, and Kahoot. Quizizz obtained the highest N-gain value of 0.53, so Quizizz became the most interesting learning media and had a positive impact on students learning Indonesian. The results also show that Quizziz media is the easiest, most convenient, and interesting media to use in learning.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the effect of digital Project-Based Learning on students’ skills in writing anecdotal texts and to analyze the mediating role of digital literacy and critical thinking among high school students. The study employed a quasi-experimental design using a pretest–posttest control group model. Data were collected through writing tests, a digital literacy questionnaire, and a critical thinking instrument. Data analysis was conducted using comparative tests to compare learning outcomes between the experimental and control groups, as well as hierarchical multiple regression analysis to test the mediation model. The results of the study indicate that Digital PjBL is effective in improving anecdotal text-writing skills compared with conventional learning. Digital literacy and critical thinking act as partial mediators explaining how this learning model influences the quality of students’ writing. Theoretically, this study contributes by offering a mediation model that integrates digital learning environments with higher-order thinking processes in writing instruction. In practice, the findings of this study imply the need for the explicit integration of digital literacy and critical thinking into project-based learning designs to make writing instruction more effective and meaningful.

Abstract

The Brothers Grimm's Cinderella is a world classic that contains gender bias and patriarchal ideology, which require critical examination. This study aimed to analyse the narrative structure of Cinderella through Gérard Genette's narratological theory and to formulate a critical adaptation model based on Jack Zipes' framework. The study employed a qualitative approach using Genette's narratological theoretical framework, consisting of five categories: order, duration, frequency, mood, and voice. The data analysis consisted of five stages: narrative mapping, structural analysis, ideological critique, critical adaptation, and pedagogical interpretation. The results suggest that the narrative features a progressive, linear plot and minimal temporal distortion, dynamic duration variation, diverse narrative frequencies, a didactic mood with dominant external focalization, and a heterodiegetic voice that emphasizes the moral and structural functions of the story. Comparatively, the Grimm's version presents passive characters, while the critical adaptation reconstructs active female agency, equal relationships, and the elimination of symbolic violence. The conclusion confirms that integrating the two approaches yields a transformative model for developing reading materials grounded in critical literacy and gender equality.
