Abstract

This study aims to describe the emotional journey of children in dealing with the loss of the father figure as represented in the novel Father, This Is the Direction to Where, huh? by Khoirul Trian. This study uses a literary psychology approach with Sigmund Freud's psychoanalytic theory which includes aspects of id, ego, and superego. The research method used is qualitative descriptive with data collection techniques in the form of documentation studies through the extraction of relevant quotes from the novel. The data analysis technique is carried out using content analysis with the stages of reading the text in depth, determining the unit of analysis, classifying the data based on psychological aspects, and interpreting the meaning of the text. The results showed that the id aspect was the most dominant element with six citations, while the ego and superego aspects were found in two citations each. Thus, this novel represents the psychological process of children who experience the loss of a father in a complex and layered manner, as well as depicting psychological dynamics that are relevant to the emotional phenomena of the younger generation in the Indonesian social context.

Abstract

The background of this research is to improve the critical thinking skills of elementary school students by using the Problem Based Learning model. This research uses a mixed methods approach, with a sample of 5th-grade students and a population of 30, consisting of 14 female students and 16 male students. The data processing results show an average pretest score of 42.19, while the average posttest score is 86.28. Additionally, the normality test value for the pretest is 0.066, whereas for the posttest it is 0.50. Thus, in terms of significance, both values meet the normality test criteria of 0.05, meaning this research can be accepted. Qualitatively, this research is considered successful, with the note that there were difficulties or challenges faced, such as difficulties in understanding the learning material, and occasionally there are some students in a class whose understanding abilities are lacking. Therefore, the conclusion of this research is that there is an improvement with the implementation of the Problem Based Learning model.

Abstract

This research aims to increase students' understanding of controlling negative emotions through group guidance services and to determine the effectiveness of applying the Sciarra method in increasing students' understanding of controlling negative emotions. The research approach used is Classroom Action Research which is carried out with reference to four stages, namely: planning, action, observation and reflection. The research was carried out in two cycles which resulted in an increase in students' understanding of controlling negative emotions in the second cycle with test results showing that 4 out of 6 students experienced significant improvement and were in the high category, while 1 student was in the medium category, and 1 student was in the low category, but had an increased score compared to the test score carried out in the previous cycle 1.
