Abstract

In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Indonesian Government implemented a policy mandating online learning activities to replace conventional education during the peak of the virus spread. This article employs descriptive analysis using secondary data and big data analytics from social media data to examine the pandemic's immediate effects and impacts on achieving Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) number 4, focusing on quality education. While positive sentiments surround the implementation of online learning in Indonesia, the study reveals negative trends and a slowdown in achieving critical indicators related to SDG 4. The findings highlight the need for the Indonesian government to formulate and implement improved policies to reach the Quality of Education targets by 2030. This study provides valuable insights into the progress and challenges within the Indonesian education system, offering policymakers the necessary information to make informed decisions for advancing education in the country. Abstract

This study aims to determine the influence of verbal ability and social intelligence on the self-efficacy of students at SMP Metta Maitreya Pekanbaru. The research employed a quantitative approach using a survey method. The sample consisted of 183 students selected through simple random sampling. Data were collected using a Likert-scale questionnaire that had been tested for validity and reliability. Data were analyzed using simple and multiple linear regression. The results showed that verbal ability had a significant influence on students' self-efficacy with a coefficient of determination R² = 0.402 and a t-value of 11.031. Social intelligence also had a significant effect on self-efficacy with R² = 0.693 and t = 20.206. Simultaneously, verbal ability and social intelligence had a meaningful effect on self-efficacy with R² = 0.711 and an F-value of 221.009. These findings indicate that social intelligence is the dominant factor in enhancing students' self-efficacy.

Abstract

This study was conducted to understand and describe in depth how childless Toba Batak couples interpret and maintain happiness in their married lives. Through a qualitative approach using in-depth interviews with two married couples (Subject 1 and Subject 2), as well as further research through significant others (informants), it was found that happiness in marriage is not only determined by the presence of children as successors to the family, but is more determined by the quality of the relationship, the depth of communication, acceptance of reality, and the meaning of life that is built together in married life. From both couples who participated in this study, a strong similarity was found regarding the purpose of marriage. Although they do not have children, whether due to medical factors or because the process has not produced results, both still demonstrate determination and commitment to building a family that is spiritually prosperous. This is reflected in how they live their married life with love, emotional support, and healthy and open communication. Abstract

The problem in this study is the low understanding of accounting in class X students majoring in Accounting at SMK Negeri 1 Medan. The purpose of this study is to determine the effect of emotional intelligence on the understanding of accounting in class X students majoring in Accounting at SMK Negeri 1 Medan, and to determine the effect of learning behavior on the understanding of accounting in class X students majoring in Accounting at SMK Negeri 1 Medan. This study was conducted at SMK Negeri 1 Medan. The population in this study were all class X AKL students at SMK Negeri 1 Medan, totaling 142 people. The sampling technique used was simple random sampling with a sample size of 105 respondents. The data collection technique in this study was a questionnaire with a Likert scale. Data were analyzed using Partial Least Square (PLS) analysis techniques with the help of SmartPLS software. The tests carried out included PLS Algorithm, Bootstrapping, and hypothesis testing using p-values with significance less than 0.05. The results of the analysis showed that all outer loading values were above 0.6 and AVE above 0.5 which indicated that construct validity was met. Based on the hypothesis testing, emotional intelligence has a significant effect on students' accounting understanding with a p-value of 0.000 (<0.05), so the hypothesis is accepted. Likewise, learning behavior has a significant effect on students' accounting understanding with a p-value of 0.000 (<0.05), so the hypothesis is also accepted. Therefore, it can be concluded that emotional intelligence and learning behavior have a positive effect on the accounting understanding of class X AKL students at SMK Negeri 1 Medan

Abstract

The issue addressed in this research is the low learning outcomes in accounting, specifically in the subject of general journals, among Class X students at SMKN 1 Medan. The purpose of this study is to determine the effect of learning anxiety on the accounting learning outcomes of Class X students at SMKN 1 Medan, and to assess the impact of procrastination on the same outcomes. This research was conducted at SMKN 1 Medan. The population of this study consists of all Class X AKL students at SMKN 1 Medan, totaling 142 individuals. The sampling technique employed was simple random sampling, re-sulting in a sample size of 105 respondents. Data collection was performed using a questionnaire with a Likert scale. The data were analyzed using Partial Least Square (PLS) analysis with the assistance of SmartPLS software. The tests conducted included PLS Algorithm, Bootstrapping, and hypothesis testing using p-value with a significance level of less than 0.05. The analysis results indicate that all outer loading values are above 0.6 and the Average Variance Extracted (AVE) is above 0.5, demonstrating that construct validity is met. Based on hypothesis testing, learning anxiety has a significant effect on students' learning outcomes, with a p-value of 0.029 (< 0.05), thus the hypothesis is accepted. Similarly, pro-crastination significantly affects students' learning outcomes with a p-value of 0.000 (< 0.05), leading to the acceptance of this hypothesis as well. Therefore, it can be concluded that both learning anxiety and procrastination negatively influence the learning outcomes of Class X students at SMKN 1 Medan

Abstract

The problem in this research is the low activity and learning outcomes. The purpose of this research is to determine the improvement of activity and learning outcomes of the eleventh-grade students of SMKN 1 Medan through the implementation of Problem-Based Learning model assisted by Mind Mapping. This study was conducted at SMKN 1 Medan. The subject of this research was the students of class XI AKL 3, totaling 32 students. The object of this research is the Problem Based Learning model assisted by Mind Mapping. This research was conducted in two cycles. The data collection techniques in this research are the observation sheets for learning activity and tests of learning outcomes. The data analysis techniques for this research are quantitative data analysis and qualitative data analysis. From the student activity observation sheet in cycle I, there were 15 (46.87%) who fell into the very active and active categories. In cycle II, the number of students categorized as very active and active increased to 31 students (96.87%) and has met the success indicator of ≥75%. From the analysis of the data obtained, the test results showed an average score of the Pre Test as 76.09 with 14 students (43.75%) achieving mastery, and in the Post Test of cycle I, the average score was 81.09 with 28 students (87.5%) achieving mastery. This improved further in the Post Test II with an average score of 90.46, with 32 students (100%) achieving mastery, meeting the success indicator of ≥85%. Based on this analysis, it can be concluded that the implementation of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model assisted by Mind Mapping can increase student activity and learning outcomes at SMKN 1 Medan.

Abstract

The problem in this study is the low level of student learning activity and the accounting learning outcomes that remain below the Minimum Mastery Criteria (KKM). The purpose of this study is to determine the improvement in learning activity and accounting achievement of students in class XI AKL 2 at SMK Negeri 6 Medan through the implementation of the Team Assisted Individualization (TAI) learning model. This research was conducted at SMK Negeri 6 Medan in the 2024/2025 academic year. The subjects of the study were 35 students from class XI AKL 2, while the object of the study was the Team Assisted Individualization learning model. The study was carried out in two cycles. Data collection techniques included observation sheets to assess student learning activity and tests to measure learning outcomes. The data analysis techniques used were both quantitative and qualitative. Based on the observation sheets, in Cycle I, 12 students (34.29%) were categorized as active and very active. In Cycle II, this number increased to 31 students (88.58%), meeting the success indicator of ≥ 85%. Regarding learning outcomes, the data showed that the average pre-test score was 69.71, with 15 students (42.85%) achieving mastery. In the post-test of Cycle I, the average score increased to 82.00, with 26 students (74.29%) achieving mastery. This improved further in the post-test of Cycle II, with an average score of 95.71 and 33 students (94.29%) achieving mastery, thereby meeting the success indicator of ≥ 85%. Based on this analysis, it can be concluded that the implementation of the Team Assisted Individualization (TAI) learning model can improve both the learning activity and accounting achievement of students at SMK Negeri 6 Medan.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the learning with a scientific approach to students' interests and learning outcomes in the quadratic function material at SMK Negeri 5 Medan 2024/2025. The type of research used is quantitative descriptive. The research population was all class X, and the research sample consisted of 64 class The sampling technique was carried out using the purposive sampling technique. The instruments used were tests, questionnaires and observation sheets. Hypothesis testing in this study used the t-test and descriptive test. The results of the study showed that: (1) learning with a scientific approach has an effect on students' learning interests, (2) the magnitude of the influence of learning with a scientific approach on students' learning interests is 73.7%, (3) learning with a scientific approach has an effect on students' learning outcomes, (4) the magnitude of the influence of learning with a scientific approach on students' learning outcomes is 89.9%, (5) learning with a scientific approach to students' learning interests is effective, (6) learning with a scientific approach to students' learning outcomes is effective.

Abstract

Waste management poses a significant environmental challenge in Indonesia. Ineffective waste handling can lead to various negative environmental impacts. Meanwhile, energy demand continues to rise in line with population growth. One innovative solution to address these issues is the use of Thermoelectric Generator (TEG) technology in a Waste-to-Energy Power Plant (PLTSa) system. This study aims to design and develop a power generation system that utilizes heat energy from the combustion of waste—specifically plastic and paper—to generate electricity, which is then used as a power source for lighting systems. This research uses a quantitative descriptive method to explain a phenomenon or process without relating it to other variables. The energy conversion process is carried out using six TEG modules connected in series to maximize voltage output. The generated voltage is then regulated and stored in a battery using a Solar Charge Controller (SCC), and monitored through an INA219 sensor and an Arduino UNO microcontroller. The system is also equipped with a photocell sensor that enables the light to operate automatically based on the ambient light intensity. Test results show that a temperature difference (∆T) of 227.7°C between the hot and cold sides of the TEG can produce a maximum voltage of 15.87 Volts. The monitoring and automatic control system functions effectively in tracking the TEG output and switching the light on or off according to environmental lighting conditions. Therefore, this system presents a viable alternative solution for renewable energy generation based on waste management.

Abstract

Masalah dalam penelitian ini adalah rendahnya hasil belajar siswa dalam mata pelajaran IPS yang diduga dipengaruhi oleh kondisi sosial dan rendahnya minat belajar siswa. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh kondisi sosial dan minat belajar terhadap hasil belajar IPS siswa kelas VII Di UPTD SMP Negeri 2 Pematangsiantar. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian kuantitatif dengan metode deskriptif. Populasi penelitian adalah seluruh siswa kelas VII sebanyak 11 kelas dengan jumlah siswa 334 orang. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan dengan teknik proportional random sampling sehingga sampel yang diambil adalah 88 orang.Data dikumpulkan melalui angket untuk variabel kondisi sosial dan minat belajar, serta nilai tes mata pelajaran IPS sebagai indikator hasil belajar. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan meliputi uji regresi linier sederhana, regresi linier berganda, uji-t, uji-F, dan koefisien determinasi.Pengujian persyaratan analisis dilakukan dengan uji normalitas mengugunakan chi kuadrat, berdasarkan perhitungan kedua variabel berdistribusi normal. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh positif dan signifikan kondisi sosial terhadap hasil belajar siswa dengan (thitung=9,99 > ttabel=1,987) dan ada pengaruh yang positif dan signifikan minat belajar terhadap hasil belajar siswa dengan (thitung=10,860 > ttabel=1,987) Hasil uji F menunjukkan bahwa secara simultan kedua variabel tersebut berpengaruh signifikan terhadap hasil belajar siswa (Fhitung = 69,91 > Ftabel = 3,10). Nilai koefisien determinasi (R²) sebesar 0,6496 menunjukkan bahwa 64,96% variasi hasil belajar siswa dipengaruhi oleh kondisi sosial dan minat belajar, sedangkan sisanya 35,04% dipengaruhi oleh faktor lain yang tidak diteliti dalam penelitian ini.
