Abstract

Purpose: The community service activity by the University of Bengkulu Geophysics and Physics Team aimed to assist the community of Kandang Limun, Bengkulu City, by developing maps that display area boundaries and topographical elevations. The maps were intended to serve as easily accessible sources of information for the local community and to aid in planning and development efforts.Method: The methodology involved conducting a preliminary survey, collecting data, preparing software tools, and creating both boundary and topographic maps. A questionnaire was distributed to assess community satisfaction with the project.Practical Applications: The maps provide valuable information for local government and residents, serving as a resource for defining area boundaries and understanding topographical features. These maps are particularly useful for urban planning, land use, and community development initiatives.Conclusion: The creation and public display of administrative and topographical maps in the Kelurahan office have improved access to essential geographical information. This initiative supports better community planning and contributes to the informed development of the area, benefiting both the local government and residents.

Abstract

Purpose: This social service aimed to (1) enhance students' understanding of qualitative research methods, (2) improve their grasp of research variables, and (3) provide solutions for students struggling to finish their studies during the pandemic. It used descriptive qualitative research to analyze how students designed research during the pandemic.Method: The study involved 20 English Language Education students from Universitas Slamet Riyadi. Data was collected through lectures, focus group discussions, and consultations. The team provided material on research methods and variables, discussed challenges in pandemic research, and conducted follow-up meetings for students to consult on their research.Practical Applications: Students initially faced difficulties in selecting research methods and variables, but the program helped them address these issues. They developed suitable research designs focused on qualitative methods and online learning, contributing new insights to university education during the pandemic.Conclusion: Based on the results and discussions from this social service, it can be concluded that solutions for students struggling to finish their studies during the pandemic were achieved through this activity. Theories, training, and intensive consultations helped students gain a clear understanding of how to conduct research effectively during the pandemic.

Abstract

Purpose: This Community Service activity aims to expand the marketing scope of the MSME keripik tempe "Crackels" by providing materials on the importance of utilizing digital marketing and Instagram as a platform for business product promotion. Method: The activity was conducted using the Participatory Action Research (PAR) method, involving several stages such as planning, implementation, and evaluation. Practical Applications: The practical application of this activity included the direct implementation of digital marketing strategies by MSME actors, such as creating and managing Instagram accounts for product marketing. The MSME participants learned how to create engaging content and follow trends to increase the appeal of their products, resulting in a significant increase in followers and sales. Additionally, they utilized other applications like WhatsApp to support promotions, making marketing efforts more effective and efficient. Conclusion: This community program successfully increased the number of followers and sales for the MSME keripik tempe "Crackels" beyond the Renon area. For sustainability, additional activities such as creative content training, advanced digital marketing strategies, and regular evaluations are needed to help MSMEs effectively utilize digital technology and marketing strategies.

Abstract

Purpose: This research aims to address the lack of street nameplates in Bukit Batu Village, Mantangai District, Kapuas Regency, which causes difficulty in locating addresses. KKN students from Palangkaraya State Islamic Institute took the initiative to design and install street signs to solve this issue.Method: The study involved community interaction and field observations. It included surveying areas without nameplates, designing appropriate signs, and installing them in the village.Practical Applications: Installing street signs improves navigation for residents and visitors. This project can serve as a model for similar villages facing the same issue.Conclusion: The research successfully provided a practical solution to the lack of street nameplates, enhancing accessibility in Bukit Batu Village.

Abstract

Purpose: In today's highly diverse art and cultural landscape, it's important to have a strong sense of self-awareness. By reintroducing local culture, we can help develop a sense of belonging and appreciation for cultural heritage within communities. Preservation and development efforts are crucial for fostering the growth of culture and art, such as the Batik culture.Method: The natural dye batik training method utilizes plant-based colors found in the environment and is supported by Generation Z's entrepreneurial spirit to boost the economy and future income.Practical Applications: The purpose of this journal is to bring attention to the significance of batik and the necessity to protect it. It can be shared with government officials, policymakers, and other stakeholders who are eager to promote Indonesian culture.Conclusion: The Handarbeni Batik initiative exemplifies the symbiotic relationship between cultural preservation and economic progress. By imparting the art of batik to the next generation, this program ensures its longevity, while also empowering young individuals with the necessary skills to thrive in the contemporary job market.

Abstract

Purpose: The aim of community service is to empower the community and educate the community regarding organic farming through making liquid organic fertilizer, integrated farming through an aquaponic system, and applying the AgroMap Info website for agricultural sustainability.Method: The program was conducted offline using the Participatory Rural Appraisal (PRA) method, involving the community as active participants. Activities were held in various hamlets to ensure full engagement and practical learning.Practical Applications: The program provided practical knowledge on organic farming and aquaponics, promoting better agricultural practices. The AgroMap Info website helped farmers access critical agricultural data, enhancing sustainability.Conclusion: Provide a concise summary of the primary findings derived from the study. Emphasize the importance of the results and their contribution to a broader comprehension of the topic or resolution of the research issue outlined in the introductory section.

Abstract

Purpose: Gisik Cemandi Village, Sedati District, Sidoarjo Regency, aims to enhance its digital visual branding as a key part of its digital communication strategy. The program focuses on creating a digital strategic plan, which includes goals, strategies, policies, and investment priorities for both short and long term. Additionally, training and developing human resources is crucial for effective use of digital governance, alongside proper management and supervision of digital communication technology.Method: From August to September 2023, the activities included Digital Visual Branding counseling, Creative Content Production training, and CMS mentoring for the village’s official website, enabling efficient information dissemination.Practical Applications: The program produced three key outcomes: Digital Visual Branding Training to help the village community develop their brand identity in the digital world; Creative Content Creator Training to improve content creation for digital marketing, and; the creation of a website for the village's Digital Information Governance.Conclusion: In conclusion and advice, through this program, the community was provided with the visual design skills and branding understanding needed to strengthen the village's brand image online. The training focuses on creative content development that assists the village's digital marketing and branding efforts. This provides the ability to create engaging and informative content to increase the village's visibility online.

Abstract

Purpose: The study provides insight on the importance of Digital Marketing and its evolution which sees business today keep up eith the latest trends and explore new ways to promote products or services and achieve virality via social media deemed beneficial for business. Method: Qualitative methodology consist of observation, interviews, and direct involvement, was used during the consideration for social media optimization to facilitate Digital Marketing, which pertains to its aptness to closely enhance productivity. Practical Applications: This study presents how Digital Marketing through modern social media platforms can boost a reach, engagement, and consumer intention to make a purchase, thereby improving a business’s prospects moving forward. Findings from this study also indicate the potential advantages for businesses from parallel sectors. Conclusion: This study brings to light how prevalent Digital Marketing through social media has become in the modern age and how cost-effective and beneficial it can be for businesses looking to promote their products or services. Adopting current Digital Marketing strategies is crucial to connecting with the modern-day consumer and to establish a brand’s position in the market.

Abstract

Purpose: This study aims to explore and map the untapped potential of Tungu Village, a coastal area with resources like marine products, waterfalls, Mairang Island, and mangrove forests. The goal is to highlight how these assets can be developed to boost the local economy and turn the village into a unique tourist destination. Method: The project involves mapping Tungu’s tourism and economic potential, focusing on marine tourism, mangrove education tours, and cultural heritage. Data will be gathered through site visits and community discussions to identify key resources and development opportunities. Practical Applications: The mapping will guide village authorities in increasing income through marine tourism, seafood processing, educational tours, and cultural tourism. Developing these areas offers sustainable growth and new revenue streams for the community. Conclusion: The study provides a plan for unlocking Tungu Village's potential, offering a pathway to economic development through tourism and local resources. Success will require collaboration between the village, local government, and community members.

Abstract

Purpose: This research focuses on the role of social media in business development to realize MSME Marketing in Tegal Parang, Tegal Parang Village, Mampang Prapatan for business sustainability and environmental sustainability Method: This research uses a community service approach to achieve its objectives. This activity includes training sessions in the form of providing theory, examples, discussion forums and mentoring to improve social media skills. Practical Application: The results of this study are useful for members of the MSMEs and the community in developing product designs and marketing. Conclusion: This research underlines the importance of providing training to MSME members and the community which can improve product design and increase product sales volume. This has practical implications for increasing the volume of MSME products which has an impact on improving the welfare of MSME members.
