Abstract

The problem found based on classroom observations was that some students did not understand the concept of flat shapes in detail. It was also found that students had not visualized the concept of flat shapes in everyday life and teachers only asked students to memorize formulas without paying attention to understanding the concept. The aim of this research is to describe the application of PMRI LKPD to improve mathematics learning outcomes, especially in flat plane material. The research carried out here is Classroom Action Research which consists of 2 cycles with 4 stages, namely the planning, implementation, observation and reflection stages. Data analysis was carried out using descriptive analysis which included calculating the average and percentage of classical completion. This research was carried out at SDN 127 Palembang, the subject of this research was class V, totaling 26 students and the object of research was the PMRI LKPD. The completeness of the learning outcomes obtained increased from cycle to cycle, namely 38% in the pre-cycle to 58% in cycle I, and reached 85% in cycle II. This shows that the use of PMRI LKPD has been proven to be able to improve mathematics learning outcomes in class V.

Abstract

Prostitution is a social problem that impacts all aspects of life. Students living in the Tegal Panas red-light district are distracted by negative behavior, thus hindering their moral development. This study aims to describe the habits and social behavior of students living in the Tegal Panas red-light district. This study uses a qualitative descriptive approach with a phenomenological research design. Data collection techniques include in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation. Data analysis uses Miles and Huberman, which consists of data collection, data condensation, data presentation, and conclusions. The results show that students' habits are influenced by the implementation of rules in the family environment, but interaction with teenagers and adults is unavoidable, which also influences their habits. Students' social behavior is more focused than teenagers who do not continue their education because they spend their time at school. However, some students also exhibit deviant social behavior such as rude language, smoking, drinking alcohol, engaging in casual sex and getting pregnant outside of marriage. This study recommends that parents and related social institutions take efforts to strengthen the morals of teenagers living in vulnerable areas, such as red-light districts.

Abstract

Increased cooperation between China and ASEAN and the promotion of the Belt and Road Initiative have increased the need for graduates who are proficient in Indonesian. Guangxi Minzu University plays an important role in preparing such talent through its “3+1” learning model, which consists of three years of study in China and one year in Indonesia. This study employs an embedded mixed-methods approach, with data collected through online interviews with three lecturers from the Indonesian Language Study Program. The analysis focuses on the curriculum structure, learning model, and implementation challenges. The results show that the curriculum focuses on language skills (50%), cultural understanding (20%), and work practices (15%). However, there are still obstacles such as a lack of integration between domestic and overseas programs and minimal assessment of the learning process. The university has begun to collaborate with industry to open project classes and bring in practitioners as lecturers. This study recommends stronger curriculum integration, improvement of the evaluation system, and increased industry involvement so that graduates have better language skills, cross-cultural understanding, and work readiness in the Southeast Asian region.

Abstract

Learning Pancasila in class II with the lecture method will cause less active student involvement in the learning process. The right solution to overcome this problem is through improving student learning outcomes by implementing the Make A Match Type Cooperative learning model supported by Flash card media. The purpose of the classroom action research carried out is to provide an increase in student learning outcomes in the subject of Pancasila Education for Class II Students Through the Make A Match Type Cooperative Model Assisted by Flash card media at SD N Kandri Girisubo. This research was conducted in four stages, namely planning, action, observation and reflection. Obtaining student success data from student test results and observation sheets. Learning outcomes increased with an average gain of 62.5 in Cycle I to 75.4 in Cycle II learning, and the percentage of completeness increased from 66.8% to 78.6%. This increase proves that learning by implementing the Make a match type cooperative model with the help of flash card media in cycle II is very effective in providing increased activity and student learning outcomes in the aspects of knowledge, attitudes, and skills in the Pancasila Education subject. Thus, this research can be said to be successful, and the research cycle was stopped.

Abstract

Nowadays, self-regulation is very important in shaping students' character. With self-regulation skills, students become sensitive to everything in their environment. However, in reality, self-regulation is not widely practiced by students, especially in a multicultural society where students are expected to be sensitive to their surroundings in order to minimize conflicts between ethnic groups, classes, and religions. This study aims to analyze the role of Social Studies (IPS) education and self-regulation in developing social values to achieve harmony at SMP Negeri 1 Singkawang, as well as its implications for social and cultural resilience. Using a qualitative phenomenological approach, data was collected through in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and documentation, and then analyzed thematically. The findings indicate that the integration of SSE learning emphasizing understanding diversity, combined with the development of students' self-regulation, significantly contributes to strengthening social values such as tolerance, empathy, and mutual respect. These findings are important for strengthening the nation's social and cultural resilience through contextual education, especially in diverse regions like Singkawang. This research is expected to serve as a foundation for developing a more inclusive and holistic social studies curriculum, as well as learning strategies that promote students' self-regulation as a foundation for living in a diverse society.

Abstract

Education in Indonesia faces the crucial challenge of strengthening literacy and numeracy, especially in Sociology, a subject demanding data analysis and interpretation of social phenomena. This challenge is compounded by the need to prepare students for the Academic Ability Test (TKA), which emphasizes critical thinking and questions based on literacy-numeracy models. This best-practice research aims to implement the Backward design strategy integrated with literacy and numeracy to enhance the readiness of Grade XII students at SMAN 7 Yogyakarta for the Sociology TKA. The strategy was conducted through three stages: 1) Identify Desired Results (understanding TKA question formats); 2) Determine Acceptable Evidence (formative and summative assessments, including external Try Outs/TO); and 3) Design Learning Experiences (differentiated instruction and innovative activities like "Bowling Litnum" and independent TKA question creation). The method used was descriptive qualitative with a subject of 70 Grade XII students who chose Sociology as an elective. The results showed a significant improvement in the group of students predicted to be eligible for the National Achievement-Based Selection (SNBP), with the average score of summative assessments and TO TKA reaching 75–78 (meeting the success target of ≥75). However, the overall average score remained below the target due to motivational differences between eligible and non-eligible students. The conclusion indicates that Backward design is effective in improving learning outcomes for motivated groups and successfully integrates literacy-numeracy into Sociology learning, while also creating transferable evidence-based practice. The key success factors were the synchronization of TKA blueprints and external collaboration.

Abstract

This best practice aims to design a collaborative learning approach integrating Geography, Mathematics, and Chemistry through the Pancasila Student Profile Strengthening Project (P5) under the theme Sustainable Lifestyle. The subjects of this best practice were 199 students from classes X1–X6 at Kolese De Britto Senior High School during the second semester of the 2023/2024 academic year. The collaborative learning process was conducted in five stages: (1) engagement, (2) exploration, (3) transformation, (4) presentation, and (5) reflection. Student responses to the project were collected via Google Forms. Data analysis was carried out by reducing data from the questionnaires, presenting it in qualitative and quantitative forms, and drawing conclusions. The P5 collaborative project consisted of five stages: rainfall data collection (rain harvesting), data processing, rainwater filtration and distillation, infographic creation, and evaluation-reflection. Rain harvesting was identified as the most challenging stage (30.8%), while the filtration and distillation stage was seen as needing the most improvement (43.6%). This project resulted in increased knowledge, skills, and the application of values aligned with the Pancasila Student Profile. Skills that improved through this collaborative learning included processing rainfall data (85.5%), collaborating in rainfall data collection (71.8%), analyzing rainfall data (70.9%), and collaborating in infographic creation (59.8%). The project also raised awareness about the importance of clean water and the health impacts of pollution, while motivating students to care more about the environment through concrete actions.
