Abstract

This study examines the influence of religiosity and honesty on ghosob behavior in students at the Bina Umat Islamic Boarding School in Yogyakarta. Using a quantitative approach, data were collected via a Likert-scale questionnaire from 100 male students aged 15–18 years. Religiosity is measured using Glock & Stark's five dimensions (ideological, ritualistic, experiential, intellectual, and consequential), while honesty is assessed across three domains (toward oneself, others, and God). Multiple linear regression analysis showed that both religiosity (β = 0.239, p < 0.001) and honesty (β = 0.699, p < 0.001) significantly influenced ghosob behavior, with a combined contribution of 76.5% (Adj. R² = 0.765). Honesty was the dominant predictor, accounting for 73.6% of the variance, compared with religiosity (49.8%). The findings show that despite high religiosity, ghosob behavior still occurs because it is normalized in the pesantren culture. The results of the study support Glock & Stark's theory of religiosity, Kohlberg's theory of moral development, and Bandura's theory of social learning, while emphasizing the importance of internalizing the value of honesty as a practical expression of religiosity in character education in the pesantren environment. Keywords: religiosity, honesty, ghosob behavior, pesantren, character education, psychology of Islamic education

Abstract

The gaming industry in Indonesia is rapidly expanding, with a growing number of players, highlighting the need for appropriate instruments to understand its impact. This study aimed to adapt the Game Transfer Phenomena Scale (GTPS-20) into Indonesian and evaluate its psychometric properties. The adaptation process followed standard procedures, including forward translation, synthesis, backward translation, expert judgment, pretest, and submission, and was tested on 823 gamers across Indonesia. Results indicated that the Indonesian GTPS-20 demonstrated high content validity (0.93–1.00), strong item discrimination (0.608–0.756), excellent reliability (α = 0.956), and satisfactory construct validity based on confirmatory factor analysis (RMSEA = 0.023; SRMR = 0.037; CFI = 0.998; TLI = 0.998). These findings confirm that the adapted scale is a valid and reliable tool for assessing game transfer phenomena among Indonesian gamers and can support future research on the psychological and behavioral impacts of gaming. Abstract

This bibliometric study explores the research landscape on father involvement in parenting as a foundation for family counseling interventions to prevent klitih behavior among adolescents. Data were collected from Scopus and Web of Science (2014–2024), yielding 1,245 publications. Bibliometric mapping and trend analysis were conducted using VOSviewer, Biblioshiny, and R-Studio. Findings identified four major clusters: father involvement and child development (38%), family counseling interventions (29%), adolescent risk behaviors and violence (21%), and cultural contexts in parenting (12%). Research output increased substantially, from 45 articles in 2014 to 187 in 2024, with peak interest between 2020-2022. The United States led contributions (34%), followed by Australia (18%) and the United Kingdom (15%), while Southeast Asia accounted for only 6%. Key frameworks included Attachment Theory, Family Systems Theory, and Social Learning Theory. The study highlights research gaps in culturally specific interventions and emphasizes the need for father-focused counseling models to prevent adolescent violence. Keywords: father involvement, klitih behavior, family counseling, adolescent violence prevention, Yogyakarta, bibliometric analysis

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of self-acceptance and gratitude in mediating the influence of social support on subjective well-being. The research sample consisted of 102 mothers of children with special needs aged 1–12 years, selected through purposive sampling. The instruments used included the SWLS (Satisfaction with Life Scale) and PANAS (Positive Affect Negative Affect Schedule) to measure subjective well-being; GQ-6 (Gratitude Questionnaire) to assess gratitude; MSPSS (Multidimensional Scale of Perceived Social Support) to assess social support; and PPAS (Porter Parent Acceptance Scale) to assess self-acceptance. Data were analyzed using path analysis mediation with JASP version 18.3. Scientifically, this research contributes to expanding psychological understanding of internal and external factors that influence parental subjective well-being through positive emotional mechanisms. The findings show that self-acceptance and gratitude significantly mediate the effect of social support on subjective well-being, with a total contribution of 97.4%. Abstract

This study investigates the relationship between career search self-efficacy and student life satisfaction among vocational high school students, with career decision self-efficacy (CDSE) as a mediator. Using a quantitative correlational design, 729 students from six vocational schools in Banda Aceh were selected through proportional stratified random sampling. Data were collected using the Career Search Self-Efficacy Scale (CSSES), the Career Decision Self-Efficacy Scale–Short Form, and the Student Life Satisfaction Scale, and analyzed using descriptive statistics and Sobel tests. The results are that career exploration efficacy, personal efficacy, and parental support positively influence CDSE and life satisfaction, whereas interview efficacy shows a negative effect due to anxiety. Mediation analysis confirms that CDSE significantly mediates the link between career search self-efficacy and life satisfaction, especially through self-appraisal and planning. The study extends Social Cognitive Career Theory by integrating cultural factors and highlighting the importance of school-based guidance in strengthening planning skills and family involvement. Abstract

The rapid growth of smartphone use offers many benefits but also raises risks of problematic smartphone use (PSU), which negatively affects psychological well-being, job performance, and social interaction. While prior research has largely focused on adolescents and university students, studies on teachers remain limited. To address this gap, the present study examined the effects of fear of missing out (FoMO), loneliness, emotion regulation, and academic burnout on PSU among vocational high school teachers in Bekasi Regency, Indonesia. Using a quantitative ex-post facto design, data were collected from 132 teachers selected through multistage random sampling. Instruments (SAS-SV, FoMO Scale, UCLA Loneliness Scale, ERQ, Academic Burnout Scale) demonstrated excellent validity and reliability (α = 0.923–0.973). Multiple regression analysis indicated a significant effect (F = 6.491; p < 0.001) with R² = 47%. Findings highlight the importance of digital well-being programs through adaptive emotional regulation, workload management, and healthy technology use. Keywords: academic burnout, emotion regulation, FoMO, problematic smartphone use, vocational high school teachers

Abstract

Pesantren increasingly face psychosocial issues such as bullying and harassment, requiring sensitive interventions. Musyrif/musyrifah often serve as first responders but lack formal counseling or Psychological First Aid (PFA) training. This snapshot study examines the feasibility of large language models (LLMs) as simulators for developing counseling communication skills in pesantren contexts. Five LLMs: Gemini, DeepSeek, ChatGPT, Claude, and Meta AI, were tested using a culturally relevant case scenario. Their counseling responses were evaluated through a seven-skill rubric: attending, empathy, reflection, clarification, paraphrasing, summarizing, and nonverbal sensitivity. Five raters independently scored the outputs. Gemini achieved the highest mean (M = 4.89), followed by DeepSeek (M = 4.71) and ChatGPT-5 (M = 4.57). Claude (M = 3.86) and Meta AI (M = 3.20) scored lower, especially in nonverbal sensitivity. The study concludes that advanced LLMs, particularly Gemini and DeepSeek, show strong potential as scalable, culturally adaptive tools to strengthen counseling readiness in pesantren. Abstract

This research aims to analyse Al-Washliyah's da’wah in promoting religious moderation in Kota Medan during the politically charged year of 2024. The study addresses the rise in religious politicisation and extremist narratives that threaten social cohesion. Using a qualitative case study design, data were obtained through in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and document analysis, and were analysed thematically to identify strategies, challenges, and impacts. The findings reveal that Al-Washliyah fosters religious moderation through sermons, digital media, interfaith collaboration, and community education, highlighting tolerance, inclusivity, and unity. Organisational strength and leadership commitment support these efforts, whereas misinformation and political polarisation remain major obstacles. In practice, this study provides policymakers and religious institutions with insights into developing effective communication models to sustain harmony during electoral dynamics. It contributes to understanding the roles of local religious organisations in maintaining peace amid political tension. Abstract

This study systematically reviews how erosion of self-efficacy predicts burnout among school counselors by synthesizing nine empirical studies published between 2015 and 2025 using PRISMA 2020 and Kitchenham’s SLR framework. Findings show that declining self-efficacy consistently predicts higher emotional exhaustion, depersonalization, and reduced personal accomplishment. Self-efficacy also mediates the relationship between job resources (role clarity, supervision, training) and counselor well-being, while loneliness and weak organizational support attenuate the protective effects of self-efficacy. Contextual vulnerabilities include crisis management and parental collaboration, where demands often exceed counselors’ capacities. Based on integrated evidence, the study proposes a context-sensitive early-detection framework for Indonesian schools that integrates organizational supports, mastery experiences, and emotional-spiritual interventions. Contributions are threefold: theoretical extension of the Job Demands Resources model, empirical validation of self-efficacy erosion as a predictor of burnout, and practical guidance for prevention. Future research should validate detection instruments and use longitudinal, mixed-method designs in Indonesian settings and implementation studies. Keywords: burnout, school counselors, self-efficacy, loneliness, systematic literature review

Abstract

Based on the model of emotion regulation (Gross, 1998), the ability to manage emotional responses is very important for achieving subjective well-being and happiness. Adolescents in orphanages are vulnerable to experiencing emotional distress and low levels of happiness due to limited affective support. This study aims to test the effectiveness of emotion regulation training in increasing happiness in 16 adolescents (ages 10–17 years). It was hypothesized that training based on Gross's five stages of emotion regulation would significantly improve happiness scores. Using the one group pretest-posttest design and the Hills & Argyle Happiness Scale, the training was conducted in three sessions (one day). The results of the Paired Sample t-Test showed that although the average happiness score increased marginally from 91.63 (Pretest) to 92.63 (Posttest), the increase was not statistically significant (p = 0.328 > 0.05). These findings provide a theoretical and practical contribution to the need for longer and more intensive intervention durations as input for the design of sustainable programs to improve subjective welfare in orphanages.
