Abstract

This study aims to analyze the relationship between work-life balance and employee performance at PT Milion Limbah Ambon, a plastic waste treatment company located in Ambon. This relationship has not been previously investigated at this company. Furthermore, this research contributes valuable data to the literature by focusing on a region outside Java, as most comparable studies are Java-centric. This study comprised 66 employees of PT Milion Limbah Ambon as the total sample, with most respondents residing in areas close to the company. Data were collected through an online questionnaire using the Individual Work Performance Questionnaire (IWPQ) scale and the work-life balance scale. Results showed a positive and significant relationship (r = 0.903) between work-life balance and employee performance, indicating that improving work-life balance can significantly increase employee performance. These findings provide a basis for formulating work flexibility policies or time-management training to increase productivity. Keywords: work-life balance, employee performance, industrial and organizational psychology

Abstract

This study aims to culturally adapt and evaluate the Indonesian version of the Child and Adolescent Resilience Measure (CYRM) among boarding school students. The adaptation followed standard guidelines, including forward and backward translation by linguists and expert panel reviews, to ensure cultural and linguistic relevance. A total of 362 students from four Islamic boarding schools in Central Java participated. Reliability testing showed strong internal consistency (Cronbach’s alpha = 0.85) and composite reliability above the ≥0.70 standard. Construct validity was confirmed through exploratory and confirmatory factor analyses, supported by expert judgment on content validity. Model fit indices indicated excellent results (CFI = 0.937, RMSEA = 0.046, SRMR = 0.049). The CYRM structure comprises three dimensions Individual, Relational, and Contextual that capture personal capacity, social support, and cultural context in the face of challenges. Findings demonstrate that the Indonesian CYRM is a reliable and valid tool for measuring resilience, offering culturally appropriate support for research and interventions in Islamic boarding schools. Keywords: resilience, santri, islamic boarding school, child and youth resilience measure (CYRM)

Abstract

Learning motivation is a key psychological factor influencing students’ academic persistence and achievement, particularly within faith-based educational settings such as Madrasah Aliyah. This study examines the influence of assertiveness and self-efficacy on students’ learning motivation, with social support as a mediating variable. A quantitative path analysis was conducted using a sample of 275 students selected via proportional random sampling from three madrasahs in Dairi Regency, Indonesia. Data were collected using validated Likert-scale questionnaires and analyzed with Structural Equation Modeling using Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS 4.1). The results show that assertiveness and self-efficacy significantly affect social support (β = 0.228; β = 0.260) and learning motivation (β = 0.180; β = 0.293). Social support also positively affects learning motivation (β = 0.259). Mediation analysis reveals that social support weakly mediates the effect of assertiveness on learning motivation yet significantly mediates the effect of self-efficacy on learning motivation. These findings highlight the importance of psychological empowerment in fostering student motivation. Keywords: learning motivation, self-efficacy, assertiveness, social support, academic resilience, quality education, student well-being

Abstract

Loneliness in fathers is a relevant psychological issue but remains understudied. Most research on loneliness focuses on the elderly, mothers, or adolescents, while fathers are often overlooked. However, changes in roles after becoming a father may also place men at risk of loneliness. This study examines paternal loneliness from the perspectives of parenting self-efficacy, job stress, marital satisfaction, and sense of community, with meaning in life as a moderator. A quantitative research design with a PLS-SEM approach was used. The participants were 256 married fathers who lived with their spouses and had children no older than 5 years. Data were collected using self-report questionnaires in a cross-sectional design. The results revealed that meaning in life moderated the effects of parenting self-efficacy and sense of community on loneliness, but not the effect of job stress. Job stress had a direct impact on loneliness, while marital satisfaction showed no significant relationship with either meaning in life or loneliness. These findings highlight meaning in life as a protective factor against loneliness in fathers. Keywords: fathers’ loneliness, meaning in life, parental self-efficacy, job stress, sense of community, Indonesia

Abstract

This study examines the influence of religiosity and honesty on ghosob behavior in students at the Bina Umat Islamic Boarding School in Yogyakarta. Using a quantitative approach, data were collected via a Likert-scale questionnaire from 100 male students aged 15–18 years. Religiosity is measured using Glock & Stark's five dimensions (ideological, ritualistic, experiential, intellectual, and consequential), while honesty is assessed across three domains (toward oneself, others, and God). Multiple linear regression analysis showed that both religiosity (β = 0.239, p < 0.001) and honesty (β = 0.699, p < 0.001) significantly influenced ghosob behavior, with a combined contribution of 76.5% (Adj. R² = 0.765). Honesty was the dominant predictor, accounting for 73.6% of the variance, compared with religiosity (49.8%). The findings show that despite high religiosity, ghosob behavior still occurs because it is normalized in the pesantren culture. The results of the study support Glock & Stark's theory of religiosity, Kohlberg's theory of moral development, and Bandura's theory of social learning, while emphasizing the importance of internalizing the value of honesty as a practical expression of religiosity in character education in the pesantren environment. Keywords: religiosity, honesty, ghosob behavior, pesantren, character education, psychology of Islamic education

Abstract

The gaming industry in Indonesia is rapidly expanding, with a growing number of players, highlighting the need for appropriate instruments to understand its impact. This study aimed to adapt the Game Transfer Phenomena Scale (GTPS-20) into Indonesian and evaluate its psychometric properties. The adaptation process followed standard procedures, including forward translation, synthesis, backward translation, expert judgment, pretest, and submission, and was tested on 823 gamers across Indonesia. Results indicated that the Indonesian GTPS-20 demonstrated high content validity (0.93–1.00), strong item discrimination (0.608–0.756), excellent reliability (α = 0.956), and satisfactory construct validity based on confirmatory factor analysis (RMSEA = 0.023; SRMR = 0.037; CFI = 0.998; TLI = 0.998). These findings confirm that the adapted scale is a valid and reliable tool for assessing game transfer phenomena among Indonesian gamers and can support future research on the psychological and behavioral impacts of gaming. Keywords: game transfer phenomena, instrument adaptation, confirmatory factor analysis, indonesian gamers

Abstract

This bibliometric study explores the research landscape on father involvement in parenting as a foundation for family counseling interventions to prevent klitih behavior among adolescents. Data were collected from Scopus and Web of Science (2014–2024), yielding 1,245 publications. Bibliometric mapping and trend analysis were conducted using VOSviewer, Biblioshiny, and R-Studio. Findings identified four major clusters: father involvement and child development (38%), family counseling interventions (29%), adolescent risk behaviors and violence (21%), and cultural contexts in parenting (12%). Research output increased substantially, from 45 articles in 2014 to 187 in 2024, with peak interest between 2020-2022. The United States led contributions (34%), followed by Australia (18%) and the United Kingdom (15%), while Southeast Asia accounted for only 6%. Key frameworks included Attachment Theory, Family Systems Theory, and Social Learning Theory. The study highlights research gaps in culturally specific interventions and emphasizes the need for father-focused counseling models to prevent adolescent violence. Keywords: father involvement, klitih behavior, family counseling, adolescent violence prevention, Yogyakarta, bibliometric analysis

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of self-acceptance and gratitude in mediating the influence of social support on subjective well-being. The research sample consisted of 102 mothers of children with special needs aged 1–12 years, selected through purposive sampling. The instruments used included the SWLS (Satisfaction with Life Scale) and PANAS (Positive Affect Negative Affect Schedule) to measure subjective well-being; GQ-6 (Gratitude Questionnaire) to assess gratitude; MSPSS (Multidimensional Scale of Perceived Social Support) to assess social support; and PPAS (Porter Parent Acceptance Scale) to assess self-acceptance. Data were analyzed using path analysis mediation with JASP version 18.3. Scientifically, this research contributes to expanding psychological understanding of internal and external factors that influence parental subjective well-being through positive emotional mechanisms. The findings show that self-acceptance and gratitude significantly mediate the effect of social support on subjective well-being, with a total contribution of 97.4%. Keywords: gratitude, social support, subjective well-being, self-acceptance

Abstract

This study investigates the relationship between career search self-efficacy and student life satisfaction among vocational high school students, with career decision self-efficacy (CDSE) as a mediator. Using a quantitative correlational design, 729 students from six vocational schools in Banda Aceh were selected through proportional stratified random sampling. Data were collected using the Career Search Self-Efficacy Scale (CSSES), the Career Decision Self-Efficacy Scale–Short Form, and the Student Life Satisfaction Scale, and analyzed using descriptive statistics and Sobel tests. The results are that career exploration efficacy, personal efficacy, and parental support positively influence CDSE and life satisfaction, whereas interview efficacy shows a negative effect due to anxiety. Mediation analysis confirms that CDSE significantly mediates the link between career search self-efficacy and life satisfaction, especially through self-appraisal and planning. The study extends Social Cognitive Career Theory by integrating cultural factors and highlighting the importance of school-based guidance in strengthening planning skills and family involvement. Abstract

The rapid growth of smartphone use offers many benefits but also raises risks of problematic smartphone use (PSU), which negatively affects psychological well-being, job performance, and social interaction. While prior research has largely focused on adolescents and university students, studies on teachers remain limited. To address this gap, the present study examined the effects of fear of missing out (FoMO), loneliness, emotion regulation, and academic burnout on PSU among vocational high school teachers in Bekasi Regency, Indonesia. Using a quantitative ex-post facto design, data were collected from 132 teachers selected through multistage random sampling. Instruments (SAS-SV, FoMO Scale, UCLA Loneliness Scale, ERQ, Academic Burnout Scale) demonstrated excellent validity and reliability (α = 0.923–0.973). Multiple regression analysis indicated a significant effect (F = 6.491; p < 0.001) with R² = 47%. Findings highlight the importance of digital well-being programs through adaptive emotional regulation, workload management, and healthy technology use. Keywords: academic burnout, emotion regulation, FoMO, problematic smartphone use, vocational high school teachers
