Abstract

The success of guidance and counseling services in schools largely depends on School Counselors’ managerial abilities in planning, organizing, and evaluating services. However, many School Counselors are burdened with additional tasks beyond their main responsibilities, including administrative duties that are still handled manually, hindering optimal service delivery. Therefore, an information system is needed to simplify administrative tasks and reduce barriers to work. This study aims to examine: 1) the feasibility of an administrative information system in improving the accountability of School Counselors, 2) the practicality of an administrative information system in improving the accountability of School Counselors, and 3) the effectiveness of an administrative information system in improving the accountability of School Counselors. Using the Borg & Gall R&D model, the study involved vocational high school School Counselors and employed an administrative information system scale as the research instrument. The results showed that the system was deemed feasible by expert validation, practical by School Counselors, and effective in enhancing accountability. In the long term, SIMAS BK has the potential to be broadly implemented and integrated into national education systems to support data-driven counseling services. Abstract

Suicide remains the second leading cause of death among adolescents globally, with suicidal ideation often being the critical precursor. While family factors are recognized as a significant trigger, the qualitative mechanisms remain underexplored. This multiple-case study employed a qualitative design to investigate the family-related dynamics influencing suicidal ideation in adolescents. Three participants (aged 20–21) from Salatiga, Indonesia, with lived experience of suicidal ideation attributed to family factors, were selected via purposive and snowball sampling. Data were collected through in-depth interviews and observations, then analyzed thematically. Eleven key themes emerged: suicidal ideation, suicide attempts, family communication dysfunction, excessive pressure, grief, history of violence, parental overcontrol, responsibility burden, hopelessness, low self-esteem, and protective factors. The findings reveal that suicidal ideation arises from a complex interaction between dysfunctional family dynamics (e.g., poor communication, pressure, violence) and the adolescent's internal psychological state (e.g., hopelessness, low self-esteem). Protective factors, including improved family dynamics, social support, and religiosity, were crucial in mitigating risk. The study underscores the need for early intervention targeting family systems and strengthening protective resources to prevent adolescent suicide. Abstract

The present meta-analytic study investigates the relationship between social support and life satisfaction by synthesizing findings from diverse empirical studies across cultural, age, and methodological contexts. A total of nine peer-reviewed studies published between 2015 and 2025 were included, comprising 5,035 participants from varied demographic backgrounds. A random-effects model was fitted in Jamovi to account for potential heterogeneity across studies. The analysis revealed a significant positive correlation between social support and life satisfaction (r = 0.525, p < 0.001). Considerable heterogeneity was observed (I² = 90.98%), suggesting substantial variability in effect sizes. Despite this, the direction and magnitude of the association remained consistent. No significant publication bias was detected, indicating the robustness of the findings. These results highlight social support as a critical predictor of life satisfaction and psychological well-being across different stages of life. The study underscores the importance of fostering supportive social environments in both clinical and community settings. Keywords: social support, life satisfaction, meta-analysis

Abstract

Cases of sexual violence continue to occur in higher education institutions in Indonesia, with 1,011 cases reported across sixteen campuses, including universities in West Nusa Tenggara. Given this condition, this study is important to conduct by developing a digitally based Islamic Guidance and Counseling service model, in the form of the HiDende application, to support the creation of a campus free of sexual violence. This research aims to develop a model for the prevention and handling of sexual violence through digital-based Islamic Guidance and Counseling services using the HiDende application. The study employs a Research and Development approach with the ADDIE design. The results yield a digitally based Islamic Guidance and Counseling service model, namely the HiDende cybercounseling application. Research findings indicate that the application integrates preventive strategies through interactive educational content and curative services through anonymous counseling with psychologists. The study concludes that the HiDende Mobile App provides a practical and adaptive digital Islamic Guidance and Counseling service model. The implications suggest that HiDende can serve as a strategic digital solution for universities in preventing and addressing sexual violence effectively and sustainably. Abstract

Bullying in vocational schools, which involves late adolescents with complex psychosocial dynamics, requires a holistic prevention approach. This study examines the implementation of a humanistic approach through collaboration between Guidance and Counseling Teachers and Homeroom Teachers to prevent bullying at State Vocational High School 1 Narmada, West Lombok. Using a qualitative case study design, data are collected through observation, interviews, and document analysis. The results show that structured collaboration through regular coordination meetings, informal communication, and joint interventions, such as home visits, is highly effective for early detection and case management. The humanistic approach, embodied in empathy, unconditional acceptance, and reflective dialogue, is consistently applied in counseling services and learning interactions. School policy support through the Duta Sahabat and Teman Curhat programs strengthens the creation of an inclusive and safe school climate. This collaborative model not only reduces incidents of bullying but also promotes emotional awareness, peer support, and a culture of mutual respect. This study concludes that the synergy between humanistic approaches and teacher cooperation, supported by school leadership, is an effective strategy for building a positive learning environment in vocational schools. Abstract

This study aims to analyze the relationship between work-life balance and employee performance at PT Milion Limbah Ambon, a plastic waste treatment company located in Ambon. This relationship has not been previously investigated at this company. Furthermore, this research contributes valuable data to the literature by focusing on a region outside Java, as most comparable studies are Java-centric. This study comprised 66 employees of PT Milion Limbah Ambon as the total sample, with most respondents residing in areas close to the company. Data were collected through an online questionnaire using the Individual Work Performance Questionnaire (IWPQ) scale and the work-life balance scale. Results showed a positive and significant relationship (r = 0.903) between work-life balance and employee performance, indicating that improving work-life balance can significantly increase employee performance. These findings provide a basis for formulating work flexibility policies or time-management training to increase productivity. Abstract

This study aims to culturally adapt and evaluate the Indonesian version of the Child and Adolescent Resilience Measure (CYRM) among boarding school students. The adaptation followed standard guidelines, including forward and backward translation by linguists and expert panel reviews, to ensure cultural and linguistic relevance. A total of 362 students from four Islamic boarding schools in Central Java participated. Reliability testing showed strong internal consistency (Cronbach’s alpha = 0.85) and composite reliability above the ≥0.70 standard. Construct validity was confirmed through exploratory and confirmatory factor analyses, supported by expert judgment on content validity. Model fit indices indicated excellent results (CFI = 0.937, RMSEA = 0.046, SRMR = 0.049). The CYRM structure comprises three dimensions Individual, Relational, and Contextual that capture personal capacity, social support, and cultural context in the face of challenges. Findings demonstrate that the Indonesian CYRM is a reliable and valid tool for measuring resilience, offering culturally appropriate support for research and interventions in Islamic boarding schools. Abstract

Learning motivation is a key psychological factor influencing students’ academic persistence and achievement, particularly within faith-based educational settings such as Madrasah Aliyah. This study examines the influence of assertiveness and self-efficacy on students’ learning motivation, with social support as a mediating variable. A quantitative path analysis was conducted using a sample of 275 students selected via proportional random sampling from three madrasahs in Dairi Regency, Indonesia. Data were collected using validated Likert-scale questionnaires and analyzed with Structural Equation Modeling using Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS 4.1). The results show that assertiveness and self-efficacy significantly affect social support (β = 0.228; β = 0.260) and learning motivation (β = 0.180; β = 0.293). Social support also positively affects learning motivation (β = 0.259). Mediation analysis reveals that social support weakly mediates the effect of assertiveness on learning motivation yet significantly mediates the effect of self-efficacy on learning motivation. These findings highlight the importance of psychological empowerment in fostering student motivation. Abstract

Loneliness in fathers is a relevant psychological issue but remains understudied. Most research on loneliness focuses on the elderly, mothers, or adolescents, while fathers are often overlooked. However, changes in roles after becoming a father may also place men at risk of loneliness. This study examines paternal loneliness from the perspectives of parenting self-efficacy, job stress, marital satisfaction, and sense of community, with meaning in life as a moderator. A quantitative research design with a PLS-SEM approach was used. The participants were 256 married fathers who lived with their spouses and had children no older than 5 years. Data were collected using self-report questionnaires in a cross-sectional design. The results revealed that meaning in life moderated the effects of parenting self-efficacy and sense of community on loneliness, but not the effect of job stress. Job stress had a direct impact on loneliness, while marital satisfaction showed no significant relationship with either meaning in life or loneliness. These findings highlight meaning in life as a protective factor against loneliness in fathers. Keywords: fathers’ loneliness, meaning in life, parental self-efficacy, job stress, sense of community, Indonesia
