Abstract

The improvement of numeracy skills carried out in group B through number card playing activities at PGRI Ujung Indah Kindergarten, Mallusetasi District, is expected to increase through this study. The approach used in this research is qualitative. This research uses classroom action research (Classroom Action Research). Data collection is carried out using observation and documentation methods, data is collected and then analyzed using descriptive analysis techniques through the initial elaboration of the research until the end of the treatment given. The study's results during the first treatment process showed a percentage rate of 20%. In cycle II there was an increase with a percentage of 87%.  For the activity aspect of pairing numbers on objects from the lowest to the highest numbers, the number in cycle I was as much as 33%, and an increase in cycle II showed a rise to 87%.  Based on this data, the indicator of learning success is achieved because it has been at ≥ 70%.

Abstract

Improving children's cognitive abilities using flashcard media by playing is the goal to be achieved in this study. This research is a type of experimental research that uses a quantitative approach. The subjects studied were 13 students of group B. Data collection techniques are carried out through observation, interviews, and collecting documentation of each child as preliminary data for researchers. The results that have been collected are then analyzed in a descriptive quantitative manner. Based on the results that have been studied, it is revealed that in the teaching and learning process, the abilities of students can be assessed so that the results obtained, namely: 1) Flashcard game tools can improve cognitive skills in children, which can be seen from the achievement of all indicators of cognitive ability, namely there is an increase that occurs by two children obtaining Very Good Development (BSB) abilities, and there are ten children with the BSH category (Developing hope).

Abstract

Improving children’s early reading skills through pictorial inductive gamest at kindergarten Al-hiro Sidoarjo is the goal to be achieved in this study; this research uses a type of classroom action research; the approach used in this study is qualitative.  The data collection methods used are observation and documentation. The data analysis technique used descriptive analysis from the beginning to the end of the study. With a focus on children's early reading skills, early reading skills are children's ability to recognize letters, read combinations of letters in syllables, and read combinations of syllables into a simple word consisting of two patterned syllables. The letters taught consist of consonants and vowels comprised of a, i, u, e, and o. The teaching of syllables introduced in the k-v-k-v pattern (consonant-vowel-consonant-vowel) is formed from the letters a, b, d, e, i, k, l, m, o, p, s, t, and u. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that to improve children's early reading skills through picture word inductive games, the teacher must at least do it based on the standards set. The increase in success can be seen in indicators 1) letter recognition, 2) syllable recognition, and 3) combining syllables into simple words. This increase can be seen in the rise in early reading ability in group B of the action research class at Al Izhar Kindergarten Makassar. This increase can be seen from the average learning outcomes assessment category obtained by children in the first cycle, the average ability is in the starting to develop sort, and the second cycle increases in the developing category as expected (BSH). 15 students are in the nascent category according to expectations. the expectation of the children being observed) the students can enter the excellent type.

Abstract

The purpose of the study was to find out how storytelling activities relate to using series image media in improving initial reading skills. The formulation of the problem stated in this study is the low initial reading ability in children of Al-Karomah Kindergarten PGRI 4 Pujon. The type of research used is quantitative, using a correlation approach. The subject to be studied is a child, which amounts to 15 children. The required data collected through observation sheets, documentation, and data acquisition of relationships of two or more variables will be analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics. The coefficient results obtained from the regression test analysis showed that the constant value was 1.975. In contrast, the serialized image storytelling value received a value of 0.902, so the regression model equation above can be described as Y = a + bX or 1.957 + 0.902X. Following the results described, it can be concluded that there is a significant relationship between serial drawing storytelling activities and children's initial reading ability.

The survey results after the action were carried out in Cycle I; as many as six children, or 40% of the 15 children, received the criteria for developing according to expectations in the aspect of students' speed in carrying out Meronce activities. Regarding accuracy, four children obtained the category of developing as expected, or 27%. After taking action in Cycle II, there was an increase from 15 students who received the criteria for designing according to expectations, six people in the speed aspect, and nine children in the category of developing very well in the speed aspect or 100%. For the accuracy aspect, seven students got the developing as expected, and eight children got the developing very well or 100%. In Cycle II, the child has reached the indicator of success, so the research is stopped.

Abstract

The ability to read is essential for early childhood; seeing the current demands of elementary schools, students who will enter the elementary school level must have the ability to read, so this is urgent for early childhood educators to pay attention to oriented media to current needs. Therefore, this research seeks to enhance interest in reading through the media of letter puzzles in early childhood. Moreover, it aims to discover the inhibiting and supporting factors in increasing interest in reading in early childhood. Through a qualitative descriptive approach, data collection techniques used observation, interviews and documentation are complemented by data analysis techniques, namely data reduction, data presentation and conclusion. The results showed an increase in early childhood reading interest by using letter puzzle media in children's learning activities; this was indicated by the average child achieving learning mastery, meaning developing according to expectations. All of this cannot be separated from the supporting and inhibiting factors in terms of time, children's mood, and media design employed in the teacher's teaching and learning process. Thus, letter puzzle media is an alternative media teacher can use to enhance interest in reading in early childhood. It also helps teachers minimise time and creates a fun learning process for children.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of applying the Mediated Learning Experience (MLE) method on mothers with children aged 5-6 years to improve the quality of interaction in learning assistance activities. The research approach used was quantitative with pre-experimental types. The research design used was single-group, pretest-posttest. The population of this study was all students at Nadira Kindergarten, Takalar Regency. The sampling technique used was purposive sampling, so the subjects in this study were seven children aged 5-6 years. The data collection technique used in this study was the NST questionnaire, interviews, and Mediated Learning Experience Rating Scale (MLERS) instrument. The methods used are descriptive statistical analysis and nonparametric statistical analysis using the Wilcoxon test. The results of hypothesis testing using the SPSS application show that the data Asymp (2-tailed) = 0.018 <0.05, then Ha is accepted, and H0 is rejected. The results showed an effect of applying the Mediated Learning Experience (MLE) method on the quality of interaction between mothers and children aged 5-6 years in learning assistance activities
