Abstract

Stunting in early childhood is a global concern because of its long-term impact on children's growth and development. This study aims to evaluate the relationship between health education interventions and changes in parental knowledge and attitudes in dealing with stunting in early childhood. The research method used is an intervention study with a quasi-experimental design. The sample for this study consisted of parents of early childhood children who were selected using convenience sampling. The health education intervention was carried out through workshops, providing materials, and discussion sessions for two months. Data collection was carried out before the intervention (baseline) and after the intervention using a questionnaire to measure the level of knowledge and attitudes of parents towards stunting. Data analysis was carried out using the paired t-test and Pearson correlation. The results of the study showed a significant increase in parental knowledge and attitudes after the health education intervention with a value of p = 0.001. In addition, there was a significant positive relationship between increased knowledge and changes in parental attitudes in overcoming stunting in early childhood (r = 0.75, p < 0.01). In conclusion, health education interventions are effective in increasing parental knowledge and attitudes and can potentially reduce stunting rates in early childhood.

Abstract

This research study discusses the integration of artificial intelligence (AI) in Early Childhood Education (PAUD) units to improve play and game activities for children as well as innovation in implementing AI-based learning. AI technology has very good prospects and potential in changing teaching and learning activities in educational units with its ability to think and learn like humans, understand human feelings, find solutions in complex decision making, and so on. However, this is sometimes not in line with the application of AI in early childhood education units which are still in their early stages, especially in developing countries like Indonesia. The method used in this research is qualitative research, the data collection technique is from various journal articles about the benefits and impact of AI on early childhood play and play activities. With the support of AI, PAUD units can improve the results of their teaching and learning activities by facilitating more diverse play experiences, increasing operational efficiency, monitoring children's play and play results in real time. Although progress in the application of AI has been seen, there appear to be challenges and shortcomings, including limited AI research in fields outside of STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics), the lack of AI theories and models in play and gaming activities, and resistance in adopting AI in a child's play activities. It is important for PAUD units to integrate AI more optimally in the process of playing and playing activities for children, as well as providing training to educators, education staff and PAUD students to optimize the education system in the future

Abstract

Engaging media is necessary to stimulate children's speaking skills in kindergarten. The purpose of this study is (1) to describe the development of media big book picturesque stories for learning speech skills in children's kindergarten, (2) to describe the feasibility, practicality, and effectiveness of big book picturesque media for learning kindergarten speech skills. This research employed the research and development of Borg and Gall, which, due to time and cost limitations, then took only seven stages—data collection techniques using questionnaires and observations. Data is validated with media validity assessment by material experts and media experts—data analysis techniques using quantitative and qualitative data analysis. Design development plans using flowcharts, define access learning objectives, formulate indicators references, define media titles, compile storytelling, layout Big Book story images, create storyboards, and create validation lifts. Results from the validity of 88.3% (very decent), product practicality of 89% (efficient), and effectiveness of 83.42% (excellent). Thus, the media big book picture story is very decent, practical, and effective for learning speaking skills in kindergarten children

The results of the research show that the strategy for weaning students using contextual learning media and infrastructure in a fairly complete learning environment. The chronology of the weaning process is: (1) preparation, (2) weaning process and (3) follow-up. This strategy is supported by quite complete outdoor media, good communication and socialization patterns, participation and support of parents in the environment around the school. The factors that influence the weaning process are (1) early childhood socialization, (2) the initial process of introducing learning to the environment, (3) effective communication patterns between teachers and parents, (4) teacher's strategies during early learning, and (5) media infrastructure that is complete, safe, and easily accessible. There were no significant obstacles in the weaning process, apart from variations in the communication between teachers and parents, and the conditions that were there were interrelated

Abstract

This research is motivated by the lack of development in children's speaking skills, as observed in classroom learning processes. One contributing factor is the limited use of interactive learning media and tools that can stimulate children's speaking abilities. Therefore, finger puppet media based on character cards was developed using the ADDIE model, aimed at improving the speaking abilities of children in Class B at Negeri Pembina Larompong Kindergarten. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and validation by experts and analyzed using descriptive quantitative methods. Based on the research results, the developed media received a score of 88% from material experts and 87.14% from media experts, which falls into the "very valid" category. The use of this media is expected to assist teachers in effectively and enjoyably stimulating children's speaking abilities as an interactive learning tool.

Abstract

This study aims to identify parenting styles applied by parents to early childhood in Telkom Makassar Kindergarten and analyze the relationship between democratic, authoritarian, and permissive parenting styles with four main aspects of adaptive behavior in children: communication skills, daily life skills, socialization abilities, and motor skills. Using a quantitative approach with a correlational design, the study involved 40 children selected through proportional random sampling. Data were collected using validated and reliable questionnaires. The findings reveal that democratic parenting has the most positive impact on the development of all dimensions of adaptive behavior. Meanwhile, authoritarian and permissive parenting styles showed varying effects on specific dimensions. The study also found that a combination of parenting styles yields more optimal outcomes compared to the exclusive application of a single style. These findings highlight the importance of flexible and culturally sensitive parenting approaches to support holistic child development. This research provides theoretical and practical contributions to designing adaptive parenting strategies that promote the growth of early childhood development.

Abstract

Character education is a crucial aspect in shaping a generation that is integrated, united, and appreciates the nation's noble values. However, technological developments and social phenomena in Indonesia indicate a decline in character among the younger generation, especially in early childhood education (PAUD) settings. This study aims to develop an experiential learning-based learning model rooted in local culture to shape the character of Pancasila in early childhood. The research methodology used is research and development (R&D) with quantitative and qualitative approaches. The model trial was conducted at TK RAMA, Group B, using observation techniques and paired sample t-tests to measure changes in children's character. The results show that the application of the ARIE model has a significant impact on improving the development of Pancasila character in the students, with an average N Gain score of 0.8, indicating the effectiveness of the model in character building. This learning model successfully created a learning environment that supports the development of values such as cooperation, independence, critical thinking, and creativity in children. Based on these findings, the experiential learning model based on local culture can be a solution for implementing Pancasila character education in PAUD and contribute to forming a generation with strong integrity and a high sense of nationalism.
