The significance of the caregiver's role in helping the elderly fulfill their fundamental requirements and daily activities. This community service's goal is to offer caregivers the tools they need to raise elderly persons who are healthy, independent, and productive. Methods: This community service is conducted through providing elderly caregivers instruction and training. 25 elderly caregivers participated in this community service. Three stages of implementation are included in this community service's activities: dementia, Activity Daily Life (ADL) with fall risk information, and creativity training. Results: It has been found that the Sig.2-tailed value is 0.000 which means it is less than the p value <0.05, so there is a significant difference in the results of knowledge about dementia in the pretest and post-test data. The cadres looked enthusiastic in following the given training. The benefit of the training of creativity for the elderly is to train memory, prevent dementia, and keep the elderly active in old age. Conclusion: There is a significant increase on the evaluation of knowledge about dementia Empowering health cadres can improve the quality of life and health status of the elderly. Elderly caregivers here are health cadres. Through this community service, it can become a solution and effort in dealing with the aging population in Indonesia.

Abstract

Introduction: Avoidant Restrictive Food Intake Disorder (ARFID) is one of the causes of nutritional disorders among children. These conditions may interfere with nutritional intake in children, which calls for community health nursing care. This community service aims to provide community nursing care for mothers who have toddlers with ARFID problems in a rural area in Aceh Province. Methods: This community service involved eight mothers with toddlers suffering from ARFID. The health education sessions, with a booklet, were performed to improve mothers’ ability to care for toddlers with ARFID. The family’s ability to manage eating disorders was measured using a self-reported questionnaire before and after the health education session. Results: All mothers' abilities increased after being given health education, as indicated by the mean pre-test (31.63) and the mean post-test (37.25) measuring by a questionnaire of the family’s ability to manage eating disorders. The result emphasized that health education interventions can improve mothers' ability to deal with eating problems in children. Conclusion: Health education using booklets as media, as part of community health nursing care, positively impacts mothers’ ability to care for toddlers with ARFID. Therefore, the sustainability of such intervention should be considered to prevent stunting among children, especially toddlers with ARFID. Abstract

Introduction: Diseases commonly observed in the elderly population are attributed to the decline in vascular functionality, with hypertension, also known as high blood pressure, being one such condition. The objective of this community service initiative is to assist senior citizens and elderly individuals in enhancing their knowledge regarding methods to reduce blood pressure levels. Additionally, it aims to enhance their proficiency in performing yoga exercises that have a positive influence on blood pressure. Method: The population in this community service activity is elderly people who are active in participating in activities organized by Posyandu Kromolio Pos 3 or Usila Mandiri Elderly School in Senggreng Village, Malang Regency. The sampling technique used is saturated sample technique or non-probability sampling. The older individuals will monitor their blood pressure during each gathering. The blood pressure assessment is conducted both prior to and following the implementation of yoga activities in order to ascertain the impact of those exercises on the blood pressure levels of older individuals. Results: At the first meeting, 58% of the elderly who attended experienced a decrease in blood pressure after doing yoga exercises. At the second meeting, 73% of the elderly who came experienced a decrease in blood pressure and 12% of the elderly did not experience changes in blood pressure before and after yoga exercises. Conclusion: Following the implementation of yoga activities as a form of treatment, a significant reduction in blood pressure was observed among the majority of senior individuals. Consequently, empirical evidence supports the assertion that yoga workouts yield beneficial effects in reducing hypertension among older individuals.
