Abstract

Physics is often perceived as difficult and abstract because learning activities are rarely connected to students’ real-life and cultural experiences. This study aimed to analyze the validity and reliability of assessment instruments using the Rasch Model, evaluate the effectiveness of a game-based physics learning module grounded in Jambi traditional games, and examine students’ motivation and responses. A quantitative Research and Development (R&D) approach based on the ADDIE model was employed involving 68 eleventh-grade science students. Data were collected through pretest–posttest assessments, motivation questionnaires, and classroom observations, then analyzed using the Rasch Model and paired-sample t-test. The findings showed high instrument quality, with person reliability ranging from 0.85–0.87 and item reliability from 0.92–0.93. Most items met the Rasch fit criteria (Infit–Outfit MNSQ 0.5–1.5), indicating valid and consistent measurement. Students’ mean scores improved significantly from 52.3 to 83.7, with a very large effect size (Cohen’s d = 1.85). Rasch analysis also revealed a positive shift in students’ conceptual abilities and showed that approximately 75% of students achieved above-average motivation after the intervention. These findings indicate that integrating Jambi traditional games into physics learning effectively contextualizes abstract concepts, enhances conceptual understanding, motivation, and creates more meaningful learning experiences.

Abstract

This study aimed to determine the effect of using WordWall  learning media on students’ motivation and learning outcomes in the excretory system topic among eleventh-grade students at SMA Negeri 23 Makassar. The study employed a quasi-experimental method with a nonequivalent control group design. The research population consisted of all Grade XI students, while the sample included Class XI Merdeka 2 as the experimental group and Class XI Merdeka 1 as the control group, selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected using tests, questionnaires, and documentation. The data were analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics. The results showed that students’ learning motivation in the experimental class was higher than that in the control class. The Mann–Whitney test yielded a significance value of 0.000 < 0.05, indicating a significant effect of WordWall  media on students’ learning motivation. In terms of learning outcomes, the experimental class also demonstrated greater improvement than the control class, with an N-Gain score of 0.71 in the high category, while the control class obtained an N-Gain score of 0.53 in the moderate category. The independent sample t-test produced a significance value of 0.009 < 0.05, indicating a significant effect of WordWall  learning media on students’ learning outcomes. Therefore, it can be concluded that the use of WordWall  learning media has a positive and significant effect on students’ motivation and learning outcomes in the excretory system topic.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of differentiated instruction based on students’ learning style profiles in Indonesian language learning for Class XI E at SMAN 1 Gerung and to identify the challenges faced by teachers in its implementation. This research employed a descriptive qualitative approach to provide an in-depth description of differentiated instruction in classroom learning. The subjects consisted of 35 students, one Indonesian language teacher, and the vice principal for public relations. Data were collected through observation, semi-structured interviews, and questionnaires. Data validity was ensured through source and technique triangulation. Data analysis used the Miles and Huberman model through data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that differentiated instruction has been implemented through preparation, implementation, and evaluation stages; however, its implementation has not been optimal. Teachers conducted diagnostic assessments, but the mapping of students’ learning styles was still not comprehensive. Differentiation in content, process, product, and learning environment tended to be uniform and had not fully accommodated students’ diverse learning needs. Evaluation was conducted through formative and summative assessment, although feedback had not been provided evenly to all students. The main challenges faced by teachers include limited time, facilities, learning media variation, and difficulties in designing learning activities and assessment instruments. Therefore, continuous teacher training and institutional support are needed to optimize differentiated instruction.

Abstract

The implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum through the Pancasila Student Profile Strengthening Project (P5) is one of the efforts to develop students’ character and competencies based on the values of Pancasila. In Indonesian language instruction at the high school level, the P5 theme “Nurturing Mind and Body” is expected to support students in developing character, collaboration skills, responsibility, and self-awareness through project-based learning activities.This study aims to identify the implementation of the Pancasila Student Profile Strengthening Project (P5) in Indonesian language instruction at Senior High Schools (SMA) with the theme “Nurturing Mind and Body.” This study employs a descriptive qualitative method. Data were collected through interviews with the vice principal for curriculum and Indonesian language teachers, observations, and documentation of P5 implementation activities. Data analysis techniques included data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions.The research findings indicate that the planning phase included forming a team of facilitators, assessing school readiness, determining themes and subthemes, developing modules, and planning project reporting strategies. During implementation, learning activities utilized textbooks and the Merdeka Belajar platform website. Although some activities were not fully carried out in accordance with the modules, the project proceeded effectively. Evaluation included reflection activities, feedback, and assessment management. Overall, this implementation supports character development and learning outcomes.

Abstract

This study aims to develop a Socio-Scientific Issues (SSI)-based Student Worksheet (Lembar Kerja Peserta Didik, LKPD) on climate change material and evaluate its practicality and effectiveness on students' scientific attitudes. This research is development research with a 4D model that includes the define, design, develop, and disseminate stages. However, this article focuses on the development stage, especially the results of the practicality test and effectiveness test. The research subjects were grade X students of MAS Al-Chalil. The developed product has passed expert validity testing using Aiken's V index and obtained a value of more than 0.80, so it is declared valid and worthy of being tested. Practicality data were obtained through learning implementation sheets, teacher response questionnaires, and student response questionnaires, while effectiveness data were obtained through scientific attitude questionnaires given before and after learning. The results showed that the learning implementation obtained an average of 92%, teacher response of 91.25%, and student response of 89.08%, so the SSI-based Student Worksheet is included in the practical category. The results of the effectiveness test indicated that the average pretest score for students' scientific attitudes increased from 49.60 to 74.20 in the posttest, with an N-Gain value of 69.49%, which is categorized as moderate and interpreted as quite effective. The highest increase was in the sensitivity in investigating the environment indicator at 84.38%, while the lowest increase was in the curiosity indicator at 51.22%. Thus, the SSI-based LKPD on climate change material is practical and quite effective for improving students' scientific attitudes.

Abstract

This study aimed to analyze the character values of fourth-grade students at SDN 1 Nyiur Tebel, Sukamulia District, East Lombok Regency. This study employed a quantitative approach using a pre-experimental design with a one-group pretest-posttest model. The research subjects consisted of 30 fourth-grade students selected using a saturated sampling technique. Data were collected through questionnaires and observations using a character values questionnaire consisting of 20 valid and reliable statement items. The data were analyzed using descriptive percentage analysis, the Shapiro-Wilk normality test, and the Paired Sample T-Test with the assistance of IBM SPSS version 31. The results showed that the average score of students’ character values increased from 57.20 in the pretest to 63.83 in the posttest. The normality test results indicated that both pretest and posttest data were normally distributed, with significance values of 0.092 and 0.068 (> 0.05), respectively. The hypothesis test using the Paired Sample T-Test revealed a t-value of -6.854 with a significance value of < 0.001, indicating a significant difference between the pretest and posttest scores. Improvements in character values were observed in the indicators of environmental care, responsibility, honesty, discipline, friendliness/communicativeness, curiosity, democracy, and independence. Observation results also showed positive behavioral development among students during the IPAS learning process. In conclusion, learning activities carried out consistently and systematically contributed positively to improving the character values of fourth-grade students at SDN 1 Nyiur Tebel. The findings of this study imply that IPAS learning can be used as an effective strategy to strengthen character education in elementary schools and assist teachers in integrating character values into classroom learning activities.

Abstract

Although various studies have evaluated the Package C Program using the CIPP model, most studies focused on general aspects of program implementation and were conducted in different locations. To date, there are not many studies that specifically evaluate the Package C Program at PKBM Melati, Enrekang Regency, by comprehensively examining the context, input, process, and product aspects according to the conditions and needs of the local community. This study aims to evaluate the implementation of the Package C Program at PKBM Melati, Enrekang Regency using the CIPP (Context, Input, Process, Product) evaluation model. The Paket C Program is one of the equivalency education services intended for people who are unable to attend formal education; therefore, program evaluation is necessary to determine the level of success and identify supporting and inhibiting factors. This study employed a qualitative evaluative approach involving PKBM managers, tutors, and learners as research subjects. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis was conducted through data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The results showed that in the context aspect, the implementation of the Paket C Program was in accordance with community needs for equivalency education services. In the input aspect, the availability of human resources, facilities, curriculum, and funding had supported program implementation although several limitations still existed. In the process aspect, learning activities had been carried out according to plan through face-to-face learning and assignments, but learner participation had not been fully optimal. In the product aspect, the program showed positive results in increasing community opportunities to obtain senior high school equivalency certificates as well as improving learners’ knowledge and skills. In general, the Paket C Program at PKBM Melati Enrekang Regency has been implemented fairly well, but improvements are still needed in facilities, learner discipline, and learning innovation.

Abstract

This study aims to empirically examine the influence of TikTok social media usage and learning motivation on students’ learning outcomes. This explanatory survey research involved 131 fifth-grade students from Cluster IV Sandubaya as research participants. Data were collected through questionnaires and documentation techniques, then analyzed using simple linear regression and Moderated Regression Analysis (MRA). The findings revealed that the use of TikTok social media did not have a significant influence on students’ learning outcomes, as indicated by the significance value obtained (p = 0.295 > 0.05). In contrast, learning motivation showed a significant influence on students’ learning outcomes (p = 0.001 < 0.05), indicating that students with higher learning motivation tended to achieve better academic performance. Furthermore, the interaction test results demonstrated that learning motivation was unable to moderate the influence of TikTok social media usage on students’ learning outcomes (p = 0.199 > 0.05). These findings suggest that the level of learning motivation does not strengthen or weaken the relationship between TikTok usage and learning outcomes among fifth-grade students in Cluster IV Sandubaya. Therefore, learning motivation remains an important factor in improving students’ academic achievement.

Abstract

Competence in solving problems is a fundamental aspect of physics learning, yet students frequently demonstrate insufficient mastery, especially concerning heat-related material. A key factor behind this issue is the lack of optimal instruments for assessing such competencies. This study aims to examine the quality of an assessment instrument developed to measure problem-solving competence on heat topics. Using a descriptive quantitative approach, the study involved 51 eleventh-grade students from a state senior high school in Bandung. Twenty-five essay-type questions were administered and analyzed through Winsteps software applying the Rasch Model framework. Findings confirmed that the instrument satisfied validity and unidimensionality requirements, supported by a raw variance explained by measures reaching 51% and unexplained variance across contrasts 1–5 at 13.7%. Item validity was verified through MNSQ, ZSTD, and Point Measure Correlation assessments. Reliability analysis yielded strong outcomes across person reliability, item reliability, and Cronbach's Alpha. The instrument successfully distinguished students across different ability levels through a well-distributed range of item difficulties. However, discrimination analysis indicated that certain items need refinement to further improve instrument quality.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the profile of high school students’ critical thinking skills on the topic of work and energy based on Peter A. Facione’s critical thinking indicators. The research employed a quantitative approach with a descriptive method. The sample consisted of 52 tenth-grade students of SMA Al-Ma’soem in the 2024/2025 academic year, selected using purposive sampling techniques. The research instrument was an essay test developed based on six Facione indicators, namely interpretation, analysis, evaluation, inference, explanation, and self-regulation. Data were analyzed using quantitative descriptive techniques through percentage calculations for each indicator achievement. The results showed that students’ critical thinking skills were categorized as high. The evaluation indicator obtained the highest percentage at 70.41%, while the explanation indicator achieved the lowest percentage at 66.12%. The low achievement in the explanation indicator indicates that students still experience difficulties in constructing scientific arguments systematically. This study demonstrates that physics learning on the topic of work and energy is capable of developing students’ critical thinking skills, although explanation skills still need improvement.
