Abstract

The Kuta region is one of the most developed tourism areas in the Central Lombok Regency. This development impacts the population that continues to increase in the area, thereby influencing the increasing need for groundwater. However, the study area tends to be dry, especially in the dry season and rainfall is very low. This is quite difficult for residents to find good aquifers for groundwater exploration. From this, subsurface lithology identification is carried out to determine the lithology of the subsurface layers to obtain potential aquifers. The method used is geoelectric vertical electrical sounding which is carried out at two location points with a track length of 500 meters and a spacing of 10 meters. From the analysis of the 1D resistivity curve produced in this survey, information on subsurface lithology at the measurement point, consisting of layers of clay, sandstone, and breccia, was obtained. At the MR-1 line there is sandstone lithology at a depth of 53-84.3 meters which is thought to have the potential to be an aquifer, while at the MR-2 line, the presence of sandstone lithology is at a depth of 67.5-110 meters. Therefore, this measurement location shows the prospect of the existence of an aquifer which is characterized by a layer of sandstone which is a rock with good porosity and permeability

Abstract

English speaking proficiency remains a challenge for many Indonesian EFL students due to limited opportunities to practice authentic communication and low self-confidence in using the language. Since English slang is commonly used in everyday communication and digital media, it has the potential to create a more engaging and natural speaking environment for students. This study aimed to investigate the impact of English slang on Indonesian EFL students’ speaking skill. A qualitative research design was employed involving 17 tenth-grade students at a vocational high school in Indonesia. Data were collected through observation checklists, speaking performance assessments, students’ self-reflection questionnaires, and documentation. The students participated in pair conversations on various topics and were encouraged to use English slang expressions appropriately. The findings indicate that all students actively participated in the activity, used English to communicate, and incorporated slang expressions into their conversations. Most students achieved a rating of Good or Very Good in their speaking performance, particularly in terms of fluency, pronunciation, confidence, and the use of English slang. Self-reflection results also indicate that students felt more comfortable, confident, and motivated when speaking English using slang expressions. In addition, students felt that slang made conversations more natural and helped them express their ideas more easily. These findings suggest that English slang can positively support students’ speaking skills by boosting their self-confidence, participation, fluency, and communicative engagement in EFL classrooms.

Abstract

Mathematics is an essential subject taught at every level of education, and geometry, one of its branches most closely connected to students' daily lives, plays a key role in developing spatial ability, particularly through the cube and cuboid material taught in sixth grade. However, field observations revealed that teachers still commonly rely on conventional media such as cardboard cubes, resulting in students who struggle to visualize, construct, and represent three-dimensional shapes, indicating the need for an interactive learning medium to support this ability. This study aims to describe the development process of WEPICSAL (Website for Interactive Learning on Carrd.co Assisted by Spatial Website), an interactive web-based learning medium on cube and cuboid material for sixth-grade elementary school students, and to determine its validity and practicality. The medium was developed using the Research and Development method with the ADDIE model, comprising analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. WEPICSAL uses Carrd.co as its display and navigation platform, supplemented by spatial websites, namely the Isometric Drawing Tool and 3D Builder Math Playground, and was designed with a Problem-Based Learning approach. The results show that WEPICSAL was successfully developed through all five ADDIE stages. Validity scores reached 77.5% from material experts and 94.7% from media experts, both indicating valid categories. Practicality reached 93.7% in the small-group trial, 96.9% in the large-group trial, and 96.3% based on teacher responses, all of which were categorized as highly practical. WEPICSAL is therefore considered a valid and practical learning medium for cube and cuboid material.
