Abstract

The training on Village Regulation (Perdes) drafting through the Independent Campus Community Service Program (Kuliah Kerja Nyata Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka - Kukerta MBKM) in Muara Takus Village was conducted with the aim of enhancing the capacity of village officials in understanding, drafting, and enacting village regulations that align with community needs and are based on applicable laws. Village regulations play a strategic role in governing various aspects of village administration, including governance management, development, community empowerment, and local potential management. However, many village officials still face difficulties in formulating Perdes in accordance with legal principles due to limited understanding of both the substance and the technical drafting of regulatory texts. Using a participatory approach, this training activity was carried out through legal counseling methods, interactive discussions, Perdes draft simulations, and guidance in formulating relevant content based on the needs of the Muara Takus community, such as natural resource management, environmental conservation, and strengthening village institutions. The activity involved 20 village officials and 11 student facilitators, with results showing an 85% increase in understanding of the legal basis, drafting procedures, and mechanisms for establishing Perdes based on pre- and post-training evaluations. Additionally, the activity produced two Perdes drafts focused on new residents who must report and parking retribution at the Muara Takus Village market. This Kukerta MBKM program not only serves as a means for students to contribute to the community but also provides a tangible contribution to strengthening village governance, increasing community participation, and promoting independence, democracy, and justice at the village level.

Abstract

Community service activities carried out in Bukit Kratai Village, Kampar Regency, aim to increase community knowledge and skills in utilizing the aquaponics system as an effort to support family food security. Aquaponics is an integrated farming technique that combines growing vegetables and fish in one mutually supporting system without soil. The Family Welfare Development Group (PKK) and the Women's Farmers Group (KWT) are involved in implementing a participatory approach through outreach, training and workshops. The materials and tools used come from used goods such as plastic bottles, jerry cans and styrofoam, so they are easy to use and cheap. The results show that people understand more about the importance of implementing an aquaponics system at home. The community is motivated to develop this system as an environmentally friendly source of food and additional income. Ultimately, this program has the potential to strengthen food security and empower communities through the application of simple, environmentally based technology.

Abstract

In the SDGs agenda, food security is a key goal that demands continuous innovation in the agricultural sector. As centers of science and technology creation, universities have a mandate to develop agricultural practices that are environmentally friendly, resource-efficient and adaptive to climate change. This research explores the role of universities in designing and disseminating innovations that strengthen food security at the national level. The method used is literature analysis and qualitative description of the best examples from various universities across Indonesia. The findings show that universities' contributions stand on three main pillars: research, education and community service. Among the innovations produced are precision agriculture technologies, integrated farming systems, and community-based farmer empowerment models. Nonetheless, a number of challenges, especially the lack of collaboration between sectors and the slow adoption of technology among farmers, hinder the expansion of impact. Therefore, strengthening the synergy between universities, government and industry is key to accelerating the implementation of sustainable agriculture that supports food security across the country.

The program aimed to enhance the capacity of fish farmers, improve aquaculture techniques, strengthen business management, and generate social and economic benefits at the community level. A participatory approach was implemented through socialization, training, the establishment of a biofloc demonstration pond, and business mentoring over a three month period. Evaluation was conducted using pre- and post-tests, as well as field observations. The results demonstrate significant improvements in farmers’ capacities: knowledge increased from 62% to 85%, positive attitudes toward adopting biofloc rose from 65% to 88%, and technical skills improved from 60% to 82%. Technically, the Feed Conversion Ratio (FCR) decreased from 1.8 to 1.4, while the Survival Rate (SR) increased from 70% to 90%. From an economic perspective, production costs decreased from IDR 23,000,000 to IDR 20,000,000, while net profit increased fivefold, rising from IDR 2,000,000 to IDR 10,000,000. Additionally, the R/C ratio improved from 1.09 to 1.50, indicating enhanced economic feasibility. Socially, the program strengthened group solidarity through collective action and intensive communication. Overall, biofloc technology has proven to be an effective strategic tool for empowering fishing communities by improving technical efficiency, economic viability, and social cohesion in catfish farming.

Abstract

According to data from the Outlook of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Indonesia, a pineapple surplus is projected to reach 789.03 thousand tons in 2025 (Center for Agricultural Data and Information Systems, Ministry of Agriculture, 2023). High pineapple production without adequate downstream processing may lead to oversupply, short shelf life, price decline, and increased agricultural waste. One of the downstreaming efforts has been implemented by the “Nenas Berduri” (Ponari) Group in Rimbo Panjang Village, Kampar Regency, through pineapple syrup production. However, the group faced several key issues: low extraction yield due to manual equipment, absence of standardized operational procedures, and limited understanding of proper production techniques. This community empowerment program aimed to enhance production capacity and product quality through the introduction of processing technology, the development of standard operating procedures, and production training. The results showed an increase in production capacity from 20–30 bottles to 80–90 bottles per month, a reduction in extraction time from 5–6 hours to less than 1 hour per batch, and all group members were able to independently operate the juicing machine and apply the SOPs correctly. This activity contributed to improving production efficiency and group self-reliance, strengthening local MSME capacity, and supporting the sustainability of pineapple syrup as a regional flagship product.
