Innovations include the use of appropriate technology, such as temperature control during production, and promoting products via Instagram. Temperature variation testing was conducted to extend product shelf life without altering taste. As a result, the fresh herbal medicine produced was more hygienic, with extended shelf life—3 days for beras kencur and 7 days for kunir asam. Additionally, partners gained a better understanding of the importance of hygiene and food safety. Digital marketing via Instagram has helped the products become more widely recognized and favored by the public.

Abstract

This community service aims to enhance the capacity of health cadres in Kindingan Village in blood pressure measurement using digital sphygmomanometers. The main problems faced by the service partners are the cadres' low understanding of sphygmomanometer usage, normal blood pressure limits, and pulse monitoring. This activity was conducted in several stages, namely theoretical training, practical training, and evaluation. The team provided grants in the form of 10 units of digital sphygmomanometers and 5 units of infant and adult weighing scales to support their role in community health monitoring. The training results showed a significant increase in the cadres' understanding and skills in accurately measuring blood pressure. The cadres are now able to understand normal blood pressure limits and utilize the pulse feature on the sphygmomanometers, and it is expected that this will improve the overall quality of community health monitoring, especially in the early detection of hypertension.

Abstract

Hypertension is a major health problem that requires continuous management, especially in areas with limited access to health services, such as Sungai Rangas Ulu Village. Limited public knowledge and a lack of health cadre skills in monitoring blood pressure are challenges in hypertension control. This community service activity aims to optimize the role of cadres in preventing hypertension. The training involved five cadres from toddler integrated health posts (posyandu) and five cadres from elderly integrated health posts (posyandu), with methods that included theoretical delivery on hypertension and its risk factors, as well as practical use of sphygmomanometers. The training results showed that 89% of cadres experienced a significant increase in knowledge and skills. Overall, this program successfully increased cadre capacity in blood pressure monitoring and health education, which is expected to contribute to more effective hypertension control in Sungai Rangas Ulu Village. Continued mentoring is needed to ensure program sustainability and long-term positive impact.
