Abstract

Pesantren have been the initiators of institutions that provide religious education, especially Islam in the archipelago, especially when Islamic da'wah developed in the 13th century. The distinctive pattern of education with the presence of a mosque, a kiai, books, lodges, and students makes it the only original education in the archipelago. The advantage of pesantren compared to other educational institutions is its emphasis on the education of noble moral character compared to the cognitive side. This paper employed the library research method. The data were collected by analyzing/exploring some journals, books, both printed and electronic documents, and other source information that relates to the research. Pesantren have their strategies and methods when dealing with human moral education. Not only as an institution for producing virtuous people, but Islamic boarding schools also have an important role in the social dimension of society and even become a cadre institution for future leaders as a consequence of their regular forging and training for santri regarding superior individual personalities. However, currently, the capability of pesantren with its success in educating moral character is being tested in the era of high technology development known as the Industrial Revolution 4.0. A term that describes the characteristics and characteristics of the community or generation in it which is certainly different from previous generations.

Abstract

The existence of meurukon traditional art has practically become endangered due to the lack of skill and knowledge transfer from older to younger generations. This phenomenon caused the lack of awareness of many Acehnese societies on the Islamic values (dawah) contained in the meurukon tradition. This study employed a qualitative approach. The result of this study shows that there is a relation and reciprocal relationship between the culture of meurukon and dawah values based on the Islamic teachings. The dawah values within the meurukon traditional art are as follows; 1. The value of Tauheed, 2. The value of Amar bil Maroof wa Nahi anil Munkar, 3. The value of truth, 4. The value of worship, 5. The value of silaturrahim, 6. The value of Akhlaq, 7. The value of Tabligh, 8. The value of art integration. Hence, it can be concluded that meurukon is an art of dawah in the form of mujadalah. Meurukon plays an important role in transferring knowledge and dawah values to society by using 2 approaches. Firstly, by using the media such as; meunasah, mosque, and pesantren. Secondly, the integration of art and culture, which tends to use the aesthetic value in the society through stanzas and poems delivered in the form of dialogue (mujadalah). As a solution, some regencies in Aceh province have actively re-promoted meurukon by regularly organizing the competition of meurukon in the sub-districts and regency area.

Abstract

The presence of COVID-19 has changed the religious information of Islamic organizations in Indonesia. To a certain extent, religious organizations play an essential role in handling outbreaks regarding their strategic position as opinion leaders for society. This study seeks to examine the religious discourse changes of Nadhlatul Ulama (NU) and Muhammadiyah in responding to the pandemic as portrayed on their official websites. This study uses a qualitative method with a critical discourse analysis approach from van Dijk (2001), in which language is analyzed by describing the aspects of language (texts) and relating to the context and social cognition. The study concludes that the state/government's power relation dominates NU and Muhammadiyah's discourses. Nahdatul Ulama (NU) tends to show the theological-normative things based on culture, while Muhammadiyah discusses religious narratives based on charity and transformative actions. However, both of them are developing contextual fiqh and disaster fiqh facing the COVID-19 pandemic based on the Quran-Hadis direction.

Abstract

The problem with this study is that there has been no formulation of religious character in scouting. Meanwhile, students' character at the Tsanawiyah Madrasah level is unstable, so many of their behaviors are difficult for teachers to direct. However, such a reality should not be worried because much effort can be made to do coaching through intracurriculars or extracurriculars. This study aims to reveal the implications of scouting on the religious character and learning outcomes of Islamic religious education students at Madrasah Tsanawiyah Negeri 5 Padang. Research is carried out with a qualitative approach of narrative type, this approach was chosen because of the desire of the researcher to express his own experiences related to the content of the study. Therefore, data is collected through discussions, interviews, and documentation studies. Data analysis is carried out by interpreting narratives whose validity is then determined by triangulation techniques. Based on the results of the study, it is known that scouting education carried out in MTs Negeri 5 Padang City can shape the religious character of students, this is based on material connectivity in scouting education activities that are strongly available with the religious character that students are expected to have. Scouting education also has implications for the learning outcomes of the PAI field of students in MTs Negeri 5 Padang City, this can be traced from the learning outcomes of students who are members of scouting education

Abstract

Qur’an is a guide and holy book for Muslims whose presence is accepted. The current study of Qur’an studies places reception as one that is often discussed. This research is based on the idea of Ahmad Rafiq's reception. Then this study analyzes the reception of the Qur'an on social media. This study aims to describe the reception on the Instagram account @quranreview, which actively uploads interpretations of verses of the Qur’an. Because receptions are the result of human thought, and of course, the results will vary, the author feels the need to raise this discussion to add to the body of knowledge related to the practice of the Qur'an. The research method is a virtual ethnographic qualitative method, which collects data from online information instead of interviews and surveys. The primary data sources are posts from the @quranreview account supported by secondary data sources such as scientific journals. After the data is collected, it is analyzed with the stages of reduction, display, and data verification. The results found in the study are that there are three receptions of the Qur'an in the @quranreview account, including the reception of exegesis, aesthetic reception, and functional reception. The reception that is most prominent and dominating in this account is the reception of exegesis because it is an account that focuses on studying the interpretation of the Qur'an. Other receptions, such as aesthetic and functional, are also found through postings of verse interpretations.
