Abstract

Cultural Intelligence Profiles of Guidance and Counseling Teachers. Cultural bias is one of the inhibiting factors in guidance and counselling, so the process of guidance and counselling in schools is often less than optimal. One of these problems is identified by the low cultural intelligence of guidance and counselling teachers. This study aims to investigate the level of cultural intelligence of guidance and counselling teachers in providing services to students at school . The survey method with descriptive statistical analysis was used to obtain an overview of the level of cultural intelligence of guidance and counselling teachers, which was strengthened through the interpretation of the results of interviews with informants. Respondents in this study amounted to 81 people, who came from high school, and vocational junior high school levels in South Sulawesi. The results showed that the level of cultural intelligence of guidance and counseling teachers at the high school level was 19.5%; SMK was 21.88%, and SMP was 53.57%, which does not consider the cultural diversity of students (such as ethnicity, religion, language, socio-economic status, gender, etc.) in providing guidance and counseling services to students. It has implications for the inability of guidance and counseling teachers to develop multicultural-based service programs, at SMA 14.29%; SMK at 15,63%; and SMP at 21.43%. In general, this study illustrates the low cultural intelligence possessed by guidance and counseling teachers, so that a follow-up effort is in the form of development and training modules to enhance teacher guidance and counseling cultural intelligence.Keywords: Profile, Cultural Intelligence, Guidance and Counseling Teacher

Abstract

Islamic Boarding School And The Hardiness Of Santri: Collaboration Of Islamic Religious Teachers And Guidance And Counseling At Pesantren. This study aims to analyze and describe the form of implementation of the collaboration between PAI teachers and BK teachers in developing the hardiness of students at Darul Arqam Sawangan Islamic Boarding School. Hardiness is a personality that must be owned by students in carrying out life in Islamic boarding schools when facing the problems they face. The importance of doing this research because there are still minimal guidance and counseling services that are carried out and can be done in collaboration with PAI teachers in islamic boarding school. This research method used a qualitative method with a descriptive approach. The data collection techniques through three methods, including: interviews, documentation, observation, and field notes (documentation). The data analysis technique used the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusions. The results of this study indicated that the form of implementation of the collaboration between PAI teachers and BK teachers in developing the hardiness of students by sharing their respective tasks, such as PAI teachers who provided material to become hardiness students during teaching and learning activities and provide information related to the progress of students. Whereas, BK teachers run the BK program through personal field services for students with classical guidance techniques and group counseling. This study has limitations due to the background of students is various, this does not rule out the possibility that the level of toughness of students is different and in providing material about hardiness and it cannot be expected that all students will experience an increase.Keywords: PAI Teachers; BK Teachers; Hardiness; Islamic Boarding Schools; Santri

Abstract

Factors Causing Verbal Aggressive Behavior of Private Vocational School Students in Semarang City. Verbal aggression behavior’s students does’nt appear by itself, this study aims to determine the factors cause verbal aggression behavior of students of vocational high school. Verbal aggressive behavior’s students, concerns the BK teacher or School Counselor as an agent helping students develop in positive and optimal direction. This research uses a quantitative approach with a descriptive survey type research method. Total population of 7746 respondents. The sampling technique used was cluster random sampling, simple random sampling with a sample of 334 respondents from 3 schools. Data collection using a questionnaire and psychological scale and data analysis techniques using descriptive analysis percentage. The results prove verbal aggression is in moderate category. The most factor causing verbal aggression is personal factor that is self adjustment and social factor is media influence. The low factor that causes verbal aggression behavior from social factors is frustration while personal factors is the factor of self-awareness.Keywords: Factors, Verbal Aggression, Student

Abstract

Management Models of Guidance and Counseling Services to Increase Performance Based on Android Applications. Guidance and counseling service activities in schools can now be assisted by technological advances, one of which is online-based. The success of the counselor's performance as part of the education system is influenced by many factors such as the ability to master the use of technology and the implementation of its management. This study aims to produce a product in the form of a guidance and counseling teacher management model to improve performance based on android applications. This study uses the Research and Development method, namely a research design that aims to produce or develop a product in the form of models, designs, prototypes, materials, media, tools or strategies, in order to improve the quality of learning by involving partners, namely SMK Negeri 7 Semarang City, Central Java. The population in this study were guidance and counseling teachers or counselors in the city of Semarang with purposive sampling. Data analysis in this study used the Wilcoxon test with an error rate of 5% with the help of SPSS 23.0. The results of this study produce a product in the form of an android application that can provide information related to the performance of guidance and counseling services, so that the administrative process of guidance and counseling teachers becomes more effective and efficient. This application is called SiMakan (Android-Based Counselor Management System) which contains several parts including planning, organizing, controlling, actuating. Management of guidance and counseling services is expected to assist the administrative process so that guidance and counseling teachers have more time to maximize service activities for students.Keywords: Counseling Service, Management Model of Guidance and Counseling.

Abstract

The Relationship Between Self-Concept and Social Anxiety in Bandung Students. This study aims to determine the relationship between self-concept and social anxiety in college students. The population in this study were students in Bandung and the participants in this study totaling 35 respondents were taken using the accidental sampling technique and the scales used were self-concept scale and social anxiety scale. The correlation technique used to determine the relationship between self-concept and social anxiety variables is the Spearman Rho technique with the help of the IBS SPSS version 22.00 for windows computer program. The results of the study prove that there is a negative and significant relationship between self-concept and social anxiety in college students. By calculating the data analysis, it shows that the Spearman's Rho correlation coefficient is -0.745 with a significance value of 0.000 (p <0.01). This shows that the proposed hypothesis is accepted. That is, the higher the student's self-concept, the lower the social anxiety, and vice versa if students have a low self-concept, the higher the social anxiety. This research also supporting and justifying the previous theory and research between anxiety and self concept.Keywords: Self-Concept, Social Anxiety, and Students.

Abstract

Application of "Kato Nan Ampek" as an Alternative to Effective Counseling Communication. The counselor deals with the clien twit havariety of issues related to thoughts, feelings, culture, disposition, customs andlanguage. Thecounselor must understand and adapttothe client's situation. This research discusses how the application of  KatoNan   Ampek   can be used as an alternative toeffective counseling communication. The research method usedis literature study, which is the analysis and synthesis of variousarticles    and    books. Research    shows    that counselorsmust first have the ability and personality to adaptto the client's situation. Counselor must consider, appreciate and respect the element soft he client's culture starting witht hecounselor's skill in sorting out the right words and expressionsfor   the   counselor.   Likewise,   counseling   communication with Kato Nan Ampek will be a communication full of ethic sandaesthetics. Keywords: Communication, counseling, effective.

Abstract

Developing a Self-Management Book Planner: Creative Solutions to Improve High School Students' Discipline. This research was carried out to develop a self-management media book planner. The aim of this research is to describe the process of developing self-management book planner media in improving disciplinary behavior in high school students. Students who are not disciplined can disrupt the academic process at school, especially in the classroom. Which will impact on being hampered in achieving success in learning and their future. This research uses research and development methods using the ADDIE model (analysis, design, development, implementation and evaluation). The results of the product feasibility test in terms of media and materials, language and practitioners obtained an average result of 87%, including the appropriate category to be implemented for students. Furthermore, the overall results of the initial product test on students reached 88% with a score of 421 out of 480, including in the very feasible category.Keywords: Media, Book Planner, Self-Management, Discipline

Abstract

The Influence of Self-Control on Premarital Sexual Behavior. This research aims to determine the effect of self-control on premarital sexual behavior among teenagers in class X at SMAN 1 Bojonegara. The research uses quantitative methods with a correlational type. The population in this study was class X students at SMA Negeri 1 Bojonegara, namely 350 students. Through the probability sampling method and the simple random sampling technique, 188 students were sampled. The data collection method uses a questionnaire, and the measurement scale for self-control and sexual behavior uses a Likert scale. The data analysis technique obtained simple correlation results with a significance value of 0.000<0.05, which means that Ha is accepted and Ho is rejected, so there is an influence between self-control and premarital sexual behavior in adolescents. The correlation value using Karl Pearson's product moment correlation was -0.627, which means that the self-control variable and the premarital sexual behavior variable have a negative relationship, where the higher the self-control, the lower the premarital sexual behavior in adolescents and vice versa.Keywords: Self-Control, Premarital Sexual Behavior, and Adolescents

Abstract

Exploring the psychological state of career well-being in vocational students' choice of major interest. This research aims to explore the level of career satisfaction through interest in the scientific fields of majors taken by Vocational High School students in South Sulawesi, especially at SMK Negeri 1 Bantaeng. This research uses a descriptive quantitative approach. This research uses the Career Well-being Scale (CWS) instrument consisting of 14 items which have been tested for Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA). The sample for this research was 200 students at SMK Negeri 1 Bantaeng. Descriptive data analysis techniques using the JASP statistical test application. The research findings through aspects of positive affective career planning conditions, career meaningfulness conditions, career network conditions/social support as a whole are categorized as high. Recommendations for further research are needed to look at factors and further interventions related to career development in schools.Keywords: Career Psychological Wellbeing; Interest; Vocational school students.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui bagaimana keberhasilan penggunaan puisi sebagai media konseling dalam mengatasi permasalahan remaja. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode systematical literature review dengan mengumpulkan data dari berbagai artikel dari jurnal daring.  Penulis mencari publikasi artikel jurnal dari tahun 2011 sampai 2021. Penulis menggunakan 9 artikel dari 23 artikel terkait. Hasil dari penelitian ini diketahui bahwa puisi bisa menjadi media konseling yang dapat mengurangi berbagai permasalahan remaja antara lain kurangnya kepercayaan diri, rendahnya harga diri, depresi, stres bahkan kecemasan. Dari 9 artikel yang dikumpulkan, dibuktikan bahwa media puisi cukup efektif dalam mengurangi permasalahan remaja dilihat dari hasil pre-test dan post-test yang dilaksanakan oleh para peneliti.
