Abstract

This article aims to describe the abductive reasoning process in solving algebra. In this research, the literature study method was used. Based on the results of studies that have been conducted, abductive reasoning helps students make creative and flexible guesses, especially when the solution is not clear at the start. By applying abductive reasoning to solve algebra problems, students are directed to recognize abductive problems, identify various solutions then select the best solution, and assimilate. The solution found must be re-evaluated because there is no guarantee that the solution obtained from the abductive reasoning process is correct.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine and describe the mathematical problem-solving ability before and after being taught using a project-based learning model.  This type of research is quasi-experimental with posttest-only control design. This research was conducted at SMK N 10 Merangin with a population of 169 grade X students and simple random sampling to provide equal opportunities for each member of the population to be selected as a sample. The selected samples were 28 students of class X Visual Communication Design (DKV) and 28 students of Engineering and Motorcycle Business 1 (TBSM 1). The research instrument in the form of an essay test totaling 5 items that have been tested for validity, and significance, with a medium and easy difficulty index according to the indicators of mathematical problem-solving ability and reliability. Data analysis technique with normality test using Kolmogorov-Smirnov and Hartley test for homogeneity. Data analysis obtained the score of mathematical problem-solving skills of the experimental class 49.39 and the control class 43.54. The mastery level of mathematical problem-solving skills of the experimental class was 81%, and the control class was 71.5%. Because the data is normally distributed and the variance is not homogeneous, the hypothesis test was obtained, and dan dengan > atau 3,848 > 1,771. So, it can be concluded that the Mathematical Problem-Solving Ability taught with project-based learning is better than conventional learning with the expository method for class X students of SMKN 10 Merangin in the 2024/2025 academic year.

Abstract

This research aims to examine students' mathematical critical thinking abilities based on self-efficacy in flat-sided geometric material and students are expected to be able to have self-confidence in analyzing and solving problems critically. The research was conducted at Kafah Unggul Islamic High School, Tangerang City, with research subjects selected from 6 students from 14 class X Science students. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative. The data analysis technique obtained through filling out a questionnaire regarding self-efficacy was analyzed using low, medium and high criteria and continued with a written test in the form of description questions with flat-sided geometric material and interviews. Based on the research results, it can be seen that the category level of students who have high self-efficacy is 25%. The largest category is 58.33% with moderate self-efficacy and the smallest is 16.66% in the low self-efficacy category which is caused by several factors, such as experiencing difficulties when analyzing and determining the formula to use according to the question.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the CT  abilities of class VIII students at SMP Negeri 1 Bangkinang Kota. CT  ability is an ability that students must have and to find out to what extent these CT abilities have developed and been fulfilled by students. This research is a qualitative descriptive research.  The research subjects were all class VIII students, totaling 36 students. The data collect ion techniques used were interviews and tests. The results of this research can be concluded that the high category (KT) subjects can understood the question information correctly in worked on CT  ability questions, can answered questions according to the CT  ability indicators, answer correctly and can also made conclusions  from the answers obtained and check  again. to ensure the  corrected of the answer. Likewise, subjects in the medium category (KS) are quite good at found information from the questions, but do not understood the answers to the questions themselves. Medium category students can also made conclusions from the answers they get. Meanwhile, low category subjects (KR) were unable to understood the questions, found the right information and drew conclusions when solving the CT  ability test questions.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of using triangle-shaped teaching aids in improving students' learning outcomes in geometry concepts, particularly triangles. The research employed a quasi-experimental approach with a "Nonequivalent Posttest-Only Control Group" design to evaluate differences in learning outcomes between the experimental and control groups. The sample comprised eighth-grade students at MTS Buaran Tangerang, divided into two groups: the experimental group using teaching aids and the control group following conventional methods. Data were analyzed using normality tests, Pearson correlation tests, and t-tests. The findings reveal that using triangle-shaped teaching aids significantly enhances students’ understanding of triangle concepts. The experimental group achieved higher average learning outcomes compared to the control group. Correlation analysis indicated a strong positive relationship between the use of teaching aids and students' learning outcomes. This study concludes that triangle model teaching aids serve as an effective learning medium to facilitate understanding of abstract mathematical concepts. The findings underscore the importance of innovation in educational tools to support more interactive and meaningful learning processes.

Abstract

This research was motivated by the low critical thinking skills of class VIII students at SMP Negeri 3 Bangkinang. One solution to overcome this problem is to apply snowball throwing learning. This research aims to determine whether snowball throwing learning through audio-visual learning media influences students' critical thinking abilities or not. This research is a quasi-experimental study using a randomized control group pretest-posttest design. The research subjects consisted of class VIIIA, totaling 32 students, and VIIIC, totaling 30 students. The sampling technique used was simple random sampling. The research instruments used were observation sheets and test questions on students' critical thinking abilities. The results of the research show that the Snowball Throwing model through Audio-Visual learning media has an effect on students' mathematical critical thinking abilities. With the increase in the average student score after the learning model was implemented in the experimental class from the average score before the learning model was implemented, H also became a reference that the application of the Snowball Throwing type cooperative learning model through audio-visual learning media can influence and improve thinking abilities. critical of class VIII students at SMPN 3 Bangkinang.

Abstract

Kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematika sangat penting bagi siswa dalam menghadapi tantangan pembelajaran dan kehidupan sehari-hari. Penelitian ini bertujuan mendeskripsikan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematika di kalangan siswa Madrasah Aliyah. Penelitian dilakukan dengan pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif, melibatkan 6 siswa kelas XI dengan kategori kemampuan hafalan Alquran tinggi, sedang, dan rendah. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah tes masalah matematika dan pedoman wawancara. Tes masalah matematika mencakup empat tahap utama yaitu memahami masalah, merancang solusi, melaksanakan rencana, dan memeriksa hasil. Temuan menunjukkan bahwa mayoritas siswa memiliki kemampuan pemecahan masalah sedang, dengan kelemahan utama pada tahap memeriksa hasil. Faktor yang mempengaruhi kemampuan ini meliputi pemahaman konsep matematika, keterampilan berpikir logis, dan daya ingat siswa. Triangulasi dilakukan dengan membandingkan hasil wawancara dan tes tertulis. Siswa dengan kemampuan hafalan rendah berada pada level unistruktural, hanya memahami masalah secara terbatas dan menyelesaikannya berdasarkan informasi yang sedikit, sehingga kesimpulan yang diambil kurang akurat. Siswa dengan kemampuan hafalan sedang berada pada level multistruktural, memahami masalah dengan baik, merencanakan penyelesaian menggunakan rumus trigonometri, namun kesulitan menghubungkan konsep-konsep matematika dengan informasi yang ada, sehingga kesimpulannya kurang tepat. Siswa dengan kemampuan hafalan tinggi mencapai level relasional. Siswa mampu menghubungkan berbagai konsep yang dipelajari, memahami hubungan antar elemen, serta menerapkannya untuk memecahkan masalah secara terpadu. Selain itu, siswa juga memeriksa kembali langkah-langkah dan jawabannya untuk memastikan kebenarannya.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the needs of Madrasah Aliyah (MA) teachers in Purworejo Regency in utilizing artificial intelligence (AI) as a medium for learning mathematics. A descriptive qualitative approach was used with a data triangulation method to increase the validity and reliability of the study. Data were collected through questionnaires, in-depth interviews, and documentation involving 10 mathematics teachers with various age backgrounds, teaching experiences, and levels of knowledge about AI. The results showed that the majority of teachers (80%) were familiar with AI, while the rest were still less familiar. The most frequently used AI application was Geogebra (40%), followed by Canva and Quizizz (each 20%). The main obstacles faced by teachers were the lack of adequate facilities (70%), time constraints in learning AI (10%), limited school budget (10%), and low understanding of AI (20%). In addition, teachers need ongoing technical training, AI implementation guidance, and infrastructure support, such as internet access and hardware. This study concluded that intensive training, procurement of technology facilities, and collaboration between schools and the government are essential to optimize the use of AI in mathematics learning. These findings contribute to the development of technology-based education policies for Madrasah Aliyah.

Abstract

This study aims to develop a Student Worksheet (LKS) based on Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) with a Sundanese cultural context to enhance students' numeracy literacy skills. The research background stems from the low numeracy literacy of students, attributed to conventional mathematics teaching methods that have not optimally developed these competencies. The research method employs Research and Development (R&D) using the ADDIE development model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation). Validation results by material experts indicate that the LKS is highly feasible, with an average score of 90.53%, while validation by teaching material experts yields an average score of 95.42% (also categorized as highly valid). The practicality of the LKS was assessed based on teacher evaluations, scoring an average of 93.33%, and student questionnaire responses, with an average score of 82.78%. Effectiveness tests conducted at SMPN 3 Sukabumi City demonstrated a significant improvement in students' numeracy literacy, marked by an average n-gain score of 60%. Based on these findings, it is concluded that the RME-based LKS with a Sundanese cultural context is feasible and effective as a learning support tool to enhance students' numeracy literacy

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan bahan ajar interaktif materi peluang dengan pendekatan multirefresentasi yang valid, praktis, dan eketif untuk meningkatkan pemahaman konsep siswa. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian pengembangan (Research and Development) dengen model ADDIE (Analysis, Desain, Development, Implementation, Evaluation). Subjek penelitian terdiri dari siswa kelas X SMAN 1 Nagrak. Data penelitian inidikumpulkan melalui angket validasi ahli, angket respon siswa dan tes hasil belajar. Hasil validasi ahli materi menunjukan tingkat kelayan dengan katregori valid dengan rata-rata skor 83%, sementara ahli media memperoleh skor valid dengan rata-rata skor 80% dan respon siswa melalui angket dengan skor rata-rata skor 80. Penerapan bahan ajar ini terbukti meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa pada materi peluang.
