Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi kesalahan yang dilakukan siswa dalam menyelesaikan masalah cerita pada materi SPLDV berdasarkan prosedur Newman. Metode kualitatif deskriptif digunakan dalam penelitian ini. Data diperoleh melalui tes tertulis berupa soal cerita berdasarkan materi SPLDV, dan dilanjutkan dengan wawancara. Hasil temuan menunjukkan bahwa persentase siswa melakukan berbagai jenis kesalahan, mulai dari kesalahan membaca soal, kesalahan mentransformasikan soal, kesalahan keterampilan proses, hingga kesalahan penulisan jawaban akhir. Kesalahan terbesar sebesar 78,21% terjadi pada tahap kesalahan penulisan jawaban akhir dan kesalahan terkecil sebesar 26,92% terjadi pada tahap kesalahan membaca. Kesalahan tersebut disebabkan oleh beberapa faktor, seperti kesulitan dalam memahami maksud soal, kurang teliti dalam membaca soal, terburu-buru dalam mengerjakan soal, kebiasaan tidak menuliskan informasi dari soal yang diberikan, kurang memahami konsep soal. SPLDV, kesulitan menerapkan konsep materi yang telah dipelajari, waktu mengajar terbatas, siswa tidak mengikuti prosedur yang benar, dan tidak menulis jawaban akhir secara sistematis. Temuan ini diharapkan dapat memberikan pengetahuan mendalam bagi para pendidik dan guru dalam merancang strategi pembelajaran yang lebih baik untuk meningkatkan pemahaman siswa.

Abstract

Motivasi belajar mahasiswa mempengaruhi hasil prestasi belajar, dimana hasil prestasi belajar berdasarkan kesalahan-kesalahan mahasiswa dalam menyelesaikan permasalahan Matematika. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengnalisis hubungan motivasi belajar dengan kesalahan yang dilakukan oleh mahasiswa pada mata kuliah Statistika Pendidikan berdasarkan teori Newman. Untuk mencapai tujuan tersebut pendekatan penelitian deskriptif kualitatif – kuantitatif digunakan pada penelitian ini. Subjek penelitian ini adalah mahasiswa semester genap program studi Pendidikan Bahasa Inggris yang mengambil mata kuliah Statistik Pendidikan yang berjumlah 17 mahasiswa. Hasil penelitian, yaitu 1. Mahasiswa terbagi dalam tiga kriteria motivasi belajar, yaitu cukup baik, baik dan sangat baik; 2. Adanya hubungan yang cukup kuat antara hasil prestasi belajar dan motivasi belajar mahasiswa pada mata kuliah Statistika Pendidikan dengan nilai koefisien korelasinya yaitu 0,567; 3. Kriteria motivasi belajar mahasiswa yang banyak melakukan kesalahan masuk pada kriteria cukup baik sebanyak 47.06% masuk kategori tinggi. Sedangkan kesalahan yang paling sedikit dilakukan adalah mahasiswa dengan kriteria motivasi belajar sangat baik sebanyak 15.69% atau kategori rendah. 4. Untuk kesalahan yang paling banyak dilakukan untuk semua kriteria motivasi belajar adalah kesalahan proses (proces skill) masuk kategori cukup tinggi. Sedangkan aspek kesalahan yang paling sedikit dilakukan oleh ketiga kriteria motivasi belajar adalah kesalahan penulisan jawaban akhir (endcoding) masuk kategori sangat rendah

Abstract

At this time, computational thinking ability is very important because it can help humans in achieving success in the world of work and society is getting bigger. This preliminary study aims to identify and explore the computational thinking skills of junior high school students and the factors that influence them. The research method used was mixed methods by giving 3 description questions on linear function material that can measure computational thinking ability to 35 class IX students in one of the junior high schools in Sukabumi. The results showed that the highest score achieved by students was 91.67 while the lowest score was 16.67. The average score was 58.33 with 20 students above average and 15 students below average. The median test score was 58.33 with the modes being 44.44 and 61.11. After analyzing each student's answer, it was found that the computational thinking ability of junior high school students was at a low level. The test results stated that students were only capable of the problem decomposition and algorithm stages, not yet to the stages of pattern recognition and abstraction. Students tend to perform calculations directly after breaking down the problem into smaller parts and writing down sequential steps to solve the problem. This shows that mathematics learning in schools today is still lacking in directing students to computational thinking skills.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatar belakangi oleh rendahnya kemampuan literasi numerasi siswa SMP. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimana kemampuan literasi numerasi siswa SMP ditinjau dari kecemasan matematika. Subjek penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VIII D SMP Negeri 1 Sagaranten yang diambil sebanyak 9 orang menggunakan teknik purposive sampling yang mewakili setiap kategori kecemasan matematika. Penelitian ini menggunakan jenis penelitian deskriptif kualitatif dengan desain studi kasus. Hasil penelitian, subjek dengan kategori kecemasan rendah belum mampu menyelesaikan indikator pertama (kemampuan menggunakan berbagai angka dan symbol terkait dengan operasi pada bentuk aljabar), indikator kedua (kemampuan menganalisis informasi dari grafik, tabel, diagram dan bagan) dan indikator ketiga (kemampuan menafsirkan hasil analisis tersebut untuk memprediksi dan mengambil keputusan). Subjek dengan kategori kecemasan sedang mampu menyelesaikan indikator ketiga saja (kemampuan menafsirkan hasil analisis tersebut untuk memprediksi dan mengambil Keputusan). Subjek dengan kategori kecemasan tinggi belum mampu menyelesaikan indikator pertama (kemampuan menggunakan berbagai angka dan symbol terkait dengan operasi pada bentuk aljabar), indikator kedua (kemampuan menganalisis informasi dari grafik, tabel, diagram dan bagan) dan indikator ketiga (kemampuan menafsirkan hasil analisis tersebut untuk memprediksi dan mengambil keputusan).

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to analyze and examine the effectiveness of learning implementation with a constructivist approach using video technology to integrate traditional culture as an effective step to increase students' ability to understand mathematical concepts. The research approach was used with literature from various relevant studies from 2019-2024. The research findings obtained are in the form of increasing student interaction and activeness in the mathematics learning process so that meaningful learning is obtained as a form of learning by integrating traditional culture as a learning medium to construct student knowledge by associating the material context close to the student's living environment, with video as an interactive media can foster a learning environment that facilitates the learning process self-sufficient. Improve students' ability to solve mathematical problems and think critically. This study also found a gap where not much research has been conducted by combining traditional cultural content with technology because there is still a lack of ability to manage learning related to technology content. This study recommends that constructive learning with traditional culture through interactive videos can be applied in the context of mathematics learning. Validate the data by comparing research results from various journals, reports, or related articles

Abstract

This study aims to obtain a valid, practical and effective educational game on arithmetic sequence material in differentiated learning. This research is a type of development research that aims to produce a product in the form of an educational game. The development of educational games is carried out through ADDIE steps consisting of analysis, design, development, implementation and evaluation. The subjects of the trial in this study were students of Class X.G of SMA Negeri 2 Kendari in 2024. The data collection instruments in this study consisted of a validation sheet used to determine the validity of the educational game, the performance of game level completion was used to obtain practicality information and learning outcome tests to determine the effectiveness of the educational game. The results of the study showed that (1) overall educational games were in the criteria of very valid and feasible to use, (2) the results of the performance analysis of the use of educational games showed that 100% of students presented with the help of educational games reaching easy, medium, or difficult levels, which means that the learning process was good and included in the practical category, (3) Based on the summative assessment, the results of the percentage of success in realizing the target level of educational games were 76.47%, which was included in the effective category. Thus, educational games are valid, practical and effective for use in differentiated learning.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to know the history of traditional culinary in Ngasem Market while exploring its geometric concept. Traditional cakes, when viewed physically, have various forms that still survive today. Therefore, in order to identify and analyze the ethnomathematics concept contained in the snacks sold, this qualitative study uses an ethnographic approach to traditional snacks in Ngasem Market with data collection techniques of field observation, interviews with traders, and documentation. The results of the study revealed that traditional snacks in Apem, Bakpia, and Wingko cakes are still available in Ngasem Market and have geometric patterns. The findings of the identified patterns are in flat shapes of circles and rectangles and one cylindrical space shape. The results of this study provide hope and recommendations that can be used as a model for learning mathematics outside the classroom which can also trigger students to understand the history of local culinary culture.

Abstract

This research aims to describe the development process and quality of STEM-based mathematics e-comics designed to enhance students’ creative thinking skills in flat-sided geometric materials for eighth-grade students at SMP. The study follows a Research and Development (R&D) approach using the ADDIE development model. The test subjects included a team of experts, a mathematics teacher, and eighth-grade students at SMPN 56 Merangin. The findings indicated a high level of validity, with the e-comics receiving a validity rating of 100% in terms of media and 95,24% in terms of material. The practicality rating from teachers was 100%, and it was classified as very practical. The overall practicality of the e-comics also fell under the “very practical” criteria. The effectiveness of the e-comics, as determined by an effectiveness questionnaire, scored 81,91%, which was considered “very effective.” Furthermore, a test yielded an N-Gain score of 0,65 categorizing the e-comics as quite effective. Based on the N-Gain score, it can be concluded that STEM-based mathematics e-comics effectively improve students’ creative mathematical thinking abilities.

Abstract

Mathematical problem-solving abilities are important to support the development of 4C skills (Communication, Collaboration, Critical Thinking, Problem-Solving, Creativity, and Innovation) in the 21st century. However, in reality, students' ability to solve problems is still relatively low and does not meet expectations. This research aims to identify students' mathematical problem-solving abilities in solving System of Equations in Two Variables (SPLDV) problems. The research method used is descriptive quantitative, with data collection through tests in the form of descriptions. The population of this study was all students in class VIII in one of the junior high schools in Sukabumi Regency, with a sample taken of 24 students from class VIII. The research results showed that the average student score was 34.5, with the majority of students being in the low category at 87.5%, and only a few students were able to reach the medium category with a percentage of 4.17% and high with a percentage of 8.33%. Analysis of the problem-solving stages shows that although 70.83% of students were able to understand the problem, 41.67% could plan the problem, only 12.5% succeeded in solving the problem, and 8.34% could check the solution. These results also show that the students' mathematical problem-solving abilities in solving System of Equations in Two Variables (SPLDV) problems at this school are mostly in the low category and still need a lot of improvement.

Abstract

Mathematical representation encompasses verbal, visual, and symbolic forms, allowing students to articulate and manipulate mathematical ideas effectively. The review indicates that students with strong representation abilities perform better academically, as these skills facilitate deeper comprehension and application of mathematical principles. A systematic review of mathematics representation ability in education during 2019-2024 in this study from 2019 to 2024, Data collection was carried out by reviewing or reviewing all articles on mathematics representation ability in education published in the period 2019-2024. The articles used in this study were 3 articles from Scopus, and 2 articles from Google Scholar from international and national journals with the help of Publish or Perish software and VOSViewer. The results of this literature review suggest that specific research needs to be conducted on how to improve mathematics representation abbility, the school levels tested, as well as their applicability in education.
