The purpose of this journal is to disseminate ideas and results of research conducted by universities, particularly Psychology Studies, Faculty of Social and Political Sciences at Mulawarman University, which can be applied in society. Abstract

Adolescent girls frequently face body dissatisfaction due to the physical changes during puberty, leading to a negative body image that can impact eating behaviors, sexual function, self-esteem, and overall quality of life. To address these issues, this study employed cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), recognized for its effectiveness in altering unrealistic beliefs and maladaptive behaviors associated with negative body image. The study used a pre-experimental design with pre-test and post-test measurements in a single group. Four late adolescents aged 19-22 years, with low body image scores as measured by the Multidimensional Body Self Relations Questionnaire (MBSRQ), participated in the study. The CBT intervention consisted of five online group sessions, adapted from Thomas F. Cash’s model. The effectiveness of the therapy was evaluated using Cohen's d, which yielded a coefficient of 0.913, indicating a high level of effectiveness. The findings suggest that cognitive-behavioral therapy is effective in enhancing positive body image among late adolescents. Remaja perempuan sering mengalami ketidakpuasan tubuh akibat perubahan fisik selama pubertas. Ketidakpuasan tersebut dapat menyebabkan citra tubuh yang negatif, mempengaruhi perilaku makan, fungsi seksual, harga diri, hingga kualitas hidup. Oleh karena itu, terapi perilaku kognitif-perilaku yang telah diidentifikasi sebagai pendekatan psikologis yang efektif untuk mengatasi citra tubuh negatif dengan mengubah keyakinan yang tidak realistis dan perilaku maladaptif, digunakan pada penelitian ini. Metode penelitian menggunakan desain pra-eksperimental dengan mengukur pre-test post-test pada satu kelompok. Empat remaja akhir (usia 19-22 tahun) dengan skor citra tubuh rendah yang diukur dengan Multidimensional Body Self Relations Questionnaire (MBSRQ) dipilih sebagai partisipan. Terapi kognitif-perilaku melibatkan lima sesi kelompok yang dilakukan secara daring, yang telah diadaptasi dari model Thomas F. Cash. Analisa data menggunakan uji efektivitas Cohen untuk melihat efektivitas terapi kognitif-perilaku, dan didapatkan nilai koefisien Cohen's d adalah 0,913 yang masuk dalam kategori tinggi. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa terapi kognitif-perilaku efektif dalam meningkatkan citra tubuh positif pada remaja akhir.

Abstract

The family is included in the smallest and closest circle to an individual. Family becomes the first environment to interact with an individual. Not all children go through a childhood full of laughter; some experience challenging childhoods, often referred to in psychology as adverse childhood experiences. This study aimed to analyze the influence of childhood memories and family dynamics on rumination tendencies through a systematic review, in order to understand the underlying psychological factors and the role of emotional memory in repetitive thinking among individuals. This study employed a systematic literature review method, with data collected from four journal portals: one national journal and three international journals. The national journal portal used was Garuda, with the search keywords "ruminasi" and "rumination." International journal portals included SAGE, Emerald Insight, and JSTOR, with search keywords "impact AND rumination family OR childhood matters OR experience." The study results indicated that rumination impacts various aspects, including interpersonal relationships, academic achievement, behavior, emotions, and psychological disorders. Rumination influences interpersonal relationships, especially in peer relations, and negatively impacts academic performance. The implications of this study highlight the need for psychological interventions focused on rumination management, particularly related to family experiences. Keluarga termasuk dalam lingkaran terkecil dan terdekat bagi individu. Keluarga menjadi lingkungan pertama yang berinteraksi dengan individu. Tidak semua anak melewati masa kecil yang penuh tawa. Ada pula anak-anak yang mengalami pengalaman masa kecil yang berat atau dalam psikologi biasa disebut sebagai adverse childhood experience. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh memori masa kecil dan dinamika keluarga terhadap kecenderungan rumination melalui tinjauan sistematis, guna memahami faktor psikologis yang mendasari serta peran memori emosional dalam proses berpikir berulang di kalangan individu. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode systematic literature review. Data dikumpulkan dari 4 portal jurnal. 1 jurnal nasional dan 3 jurnal internasional. Portal jurnal nasional yang digunakan adalah Garuda dengan menggunakan kata kunci pencarian “ruminasi” dan “rumination”. Portal jurnal internasional yang digunakan adalah SAGE, Emerald Insight, dan JSTOR dengan kata kunci pencarian “impact AND rumination family OR childhood matters OR experience”. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ruminasi berdampak pada berbagai aspek, termasuk hubungan interpersonal, capaian akademik, perilaku, emosi, dan gangguan psikologis. Ruminasi mempengaruhi hubungan interpersonal, khususnya dalam relasi teman sebaya, serta berdampak negatif pada prestasi akademik. Implikasi penelitian ini menunjukkan perlunya pengembangan intervensi psikologis yang fokus pada manajemen ruminasi, terutama yang berhubungan dengan pengalaman keluarga.

Abstract

East Java is in second place after West Java as the province with the highest cases of gender-based violence against women in Indonesia. Society in general is more focused on severe forms of sexual violence, such as rape and sex trafficking, but less focused on their attitudes towards sexual harassment. Attitudes towards sexual harassment have an impact on victims, such as causing shame, disrupting individual well-being, and even leading to depression, both for those who experience it and those who witness it. One factor that is related to attitudes towards sexual harassment is ambivalent sexism. Ambivalent sexism is a form of hostility towards women while simultaneously feeling positive towards them but still in line with sexist antipathy. This research aims to empirically test the role of ambivalent sexism in attitudes towards sexual harassment among students in East Java. This research was conducted on 112 respondents with the criteria of students studying in East Java. Data were collected using the Ambivalent Sexism Inventory (ASI) and Sexual Harassment Attitude Scale (SHAS) questionnaires. Data collection was carried out by distributing online questionnaires. The data analysis technique used was a multiple linear regression test. The research results show that the two dimensions of ambivalent sexism, namely benevolent sexism and hostile sexism, have a significant role in attitudes towards sexual harassment. Benevolent sexism and hostile sexism each significantly predict attitudes towards sexual harassment. These results indicate that the higher the attitude towards traditional roles and stereotypes of women (benevolent sexism) accompanied by the need for sexual dominance, control, and viewing women as inferior (hostile sexism), the more tolerant attitudes towards sexual harassment will increase. Jawa Timur menempati posisi kedua setelah Jawa Barat sebagai provinsi dengan kasus kekerasan berbasis gender terhadap perempuan tertinggi di Indonesia. Masyarakat secara umum lebih fokus pada bentuk-bentuk kekerasan seksual yang parah, seperti pemerkosaan dan perdagangan seks, tetapi kurang fokus pada sikap mereka terhadap pelecehan seksual. Sikap terhadap pelecehan seksual memberikan dampak bagi para korban seperti menimbulkan rasa malu, mengganggu kesejahteraan individu, bahkan hingga berujung depresi, baik bagi yang mengalami maupun yang menyaksikannya. Salah satu faktor yang memiliki hubungan dengan sikap terhadap pelecehan seksual adalah ambivalent sexism. Ambivalent sexism adalah bentuk permusuhan terhadap perempuan sekaligus perasaan positif terhadap mereka tetapi masih sejalan dengan antipati seksis. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji secara empiris adanya peran ambivalent sexism pada sikap terhadap pelecehan seksual pada mahasiswa di Jawa Timur. Penelitian ini dilakukan pada 112 orang responden dengan kriteria mahasiswa/mahasiswi yang berkuliah di Jawa Timur. Pengambilan data menggunakan kuesioner Ambivalent Sexism Inventory (ASI) dan Sexual Harassment Attitude Scale (SHAS). Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan menyebarkan kuesioner online. Teknik analisis data yang dilakukan adalah uji regresi linier berganda. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kedua dimensi ambivalent sexism yaitu benevolent sexism dan hostile sexism memiliki peran yang signifikan pada sikap terhadap pelecehan seksual. Benevolent sexism dan hostile sexism masing-masing secara signifikan memprediksi munculnya sikap terhadap pelecehan seksual. Hasil ini menunjukkan bahwa semakin tinggi sikap terhadap peran tradisional dan stereotip perempuan (benevolent sexism) disertai dengan kebutuhan akan dominasi seksual, kontrol, dan memandang inferioritas perempuan (hostile sexism) akan meningkatkan sikap toleran terhadap pelecehan seksual.

Abstract

Nursing has a high prevalence of burnout, and mindfulness-based interventions (MBIs) are increasingly considered to reduce this. The unique nursing work environment requires flexible interventions, while traditional MBIs are resource-intensive. This systematized review aimed to identify changes in the original MBI curriculum for nurses and contextual factors perceived as mediators and barriers to implementation. Inclusion criteria included experimental research on MBIs for nurses with burnout measurement. Exclusion criteria ruled out non-MBI research, other professions, and studies not measuring burnout. Databases used were CINAHL, PubMed, Scopus, and Web of Science, following PRISMA 2020 guidelines and QATFQS for quality assessment. Fourteen articles met eligibility, showing common changes like reduced intervention frequency and duration, with meditation and mindful eating as prevalent practices. Barriers outweighed facilitators, mainly within the inner setting domain. Perawat memiliki prevalensi burnout yang tinggi. Intervensi berbasis mindfulness merupakan pendekatan yang paling sering diterapkan untuk menurunkan burnout pada perawat. Namun, lingkungan kerja perawat yang unik membutuhkan intervensi yang lebih fleksibel, sementara kurikulum tradisional intervensi berbasis mindfulness memerlukan banyak sumber daya. Telaah sistematis ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui perubahan yang dilakukan para peneliti terhadap kurikulum asli intervensi berbasis mindfulness agar intervensi dapat diberikan pada perawat serta faktor-faktor kontekstual yang menjadi fasilitator serta penghambat penerapannya. Kriteria inklusi mencakup penelitian eksperimen yang mengukur pengaruh intervensi berbasis mindfulness terhadap tingkat burnout pada perawat. Kriteria eksklusi meliputi penelitian yang tidak menerapkan intervensi berbasis mindfulness, melibatkan profesi lain sebagai subjek penelitiannya, atau tidak mengukur burnout. Basis data yang digunakan adalah CINAHL, PubMed, Scopus, dan Web of Science. Proses seleksi artikel riset didasarkan pada panduan PRISMA 2020 sementara penilaian kualitas artikel riset menggunakan QATFQS. Pengelompokan faktor penghambat dan fasilitator didasarkan pada kerangka kerja The Consolidated Framework for Implementation Research (CFIR). Dari 14 artikel yang memenuhi syarat, perubahan paling umum adalah pengurangan frekuensi dan durasi intervensi. Faktor hambatan lebih banyak ditemukan dibandingkan faktor fasilitator, terutama dalam domain inner setting.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to examine the effect of Work Life Balance and Work Motivation on employee performance in Gen Z employees with the mediating role of Work Motivation. The population in this study were generation Z employees, namely employees born in 1995-2006 and working in private companies with a sample of 226 respondents. The sampling technique used in this study was purposive sampling technique. then CFA testing and path analysis were carried out using Mplus software. The results showed that all dimensions of Work Life Balance had no effect on Employee Performance, but Career Development had a significant effect on Employee Performance and Work Motivation proved to be a mediator between the influence of Career Development and Employee Performance. Therefore, it is recommended that companies pay more attention and learn how to improve employee career development in order to improve the performance of generation Z employees.

Abstract

The company needed to pay attention to and retain employees to prevent turnover intention that could arise due to a lack of attention from the company or insufficient comfort in the workplace. The vacant positions left by departing employees required other employees to fill the gaps or take on double jobs, along with additional costs for recruiting new employees with the skills and competencies needed by the company. This study aimed to fill the gap in the literature by examining the influence of resilience, job security, and leadership on turnover intention, mediated by job satisfaction, in the context of Generation Z employees in the hospitality industry. The research employed a quantitative method, with data analysis using Smart PLS SEM (Partial Least Squares - Structural Equation Modeling) software. The results showed that resilience, job security, leadership, and job satisfaction had a significant influence on turnover intention among Generation Z employees. Employees with higher resilience, a sense of job security, effective leadership support, and adequate job satisfaction were less likely to have turnover intention. The practical implication of this study is that organizations need to develop programs focused on enhancing resilience, effective leadership, and job satisfaction, as well as ensuring clear job security to increase employee retention and long-term productivity. Perusahaan harus memperhatikan dan memelihara karyawan agar tidak memiliki keinginan untuk pindah atau turnover intention yang muncul akibat kurangnya perhatian dari perusahaan atau kurangnya kenyamanan di tempat kerja. Kekosongan posisi yang ditinggalkan karyawan sehingga karyawan lain dituntut mengisi posisi kosong atau menjalani double job serta biaya tambahan untuk merekrut karyawan baru yang memiliki kualitas dan kemampuan sesuai dengan kebutuhan perusahaan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengisi gap dalam literatur dengan meneliti pengaruh resiliensi keamanan pekerjaan dan kepemimpinan terhadap turnover intention yang dimediasi oleh kepuasan kerja dalam konteks karyawan generasi Z di industri perhotelan. Metode penelitian ini yang digunakan adalah penelitian kuantitatif Dengan pengolahan data menggunakan Software smart PLS SEM (Partial Least Square – Structural Equation Modeling). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa resiliensi, job security, kepemimpinan, dan kepuasan kerja memiliki pengaruh signifikan terhadap turnover intention pada karyawan Generasi Z, di mana karyawan dengan tingkat resiliensi yang tinggi, rasa aman dalam pekerjaan, dukungan dari pemimpin yang efektif, serta kepuasan kerja yang memadai cenderung memiliki intensi keluar yang lebih rendah. Implikasi praktis dari penelitian ini adalah bahwa organisasi perlu mengembangkan program yang berfokus pada pengembangan resiliensi, kepemimpinan efektif, dan kepuasan kerja, serta memastikan adanya jaminan pekerjaan yang jelas untuk meningkatkan retensi karyawan dan produktivitas jangka panjang.

Abstract

Plastic Bank Indonesia (PBI) has done trainings and evaluated its results through two modules and tests. However, it does not yet have a standardized tool to evaluate the participants’ understanding.Therefore, the purpose of this research is to evaluate the effectiveness of PBI’s trainings across two modules in order to develop a standardized tool for evaluation. This is quantitative research with a quasi-experimental design involving one experimental group without a control group and using post-test measurement only. The participants of the experinmental group are heads of warehouses and plastic collectors who received training and tests by PBI. Results show that the average score of the test falls into the category of Average and Good using an ideal norm, indicating that this training was effective in raising participants’ awareness of plastic waste. Results of the t-test show that there is no significant difference between the average scores of heads of warehouses (N=220) and plastic collectors (N=678). However, the results of the distractor test show that the majority of items are not a good distractor, which indicates that the test is still quite easy. Based on the reliability test, the majority of items have a moderate reliability (Cronbach’s alpha .5 to .7). The implication of these findings is that ineffective distractors should be revised to enhance the accuracy of evaluating participants’ understanding. Plastic Bank Indonesia (PBI) telah melakukan beberapa pelatihan dan mengevaluasi hasilnya melalui tes yang dilangsungkan dalam dua modul. Namun sejauh ini masih belum memiliki alat ukur untuk mengevaluasi pemahaman peserta pelatihan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengukur efektivitas pelatihan yang dilakukan PBI dalam modul 1 dan 2 dengan harapan agar terdapat alat ukur yang baku untuk digunakan sebagai saran evaluasi. Metode penelitian ini adalah kuantitatif dengan desain kuasi-eksperimen dengan satu kelompok eksperimen tanpa ada kelompok kontrol dengan pengukuran post-test saja. Sebanyak 898 peserta kelompok eksperimen yaitu kepala gudang dan kolektor di Indonesia yang diberikan pelatihan lalu diminta mengisi tes. Hasil rata-rata skor tes masuk dalam kategori Cukup dan Baik menggunakan normal ideal sehingga pelatihan ini efektif untuk menumbuhkan pemahaman peserta pelatihan. Hasil uji beda menunjukkan bahwa tidak ada perbedaan signifikan antara rata-rata kepala gudang (N=220) dan kolektor plastik (N=678). Namun, hasil uji distraktor menunjukkan bahwa mayoritas butir tes masih memiliki distraktor yang kurang baik yang mengindikasikan bahwa pertanyaan tes tergolong mudah. Dari hasil uji reliabilitas, mayoritas butir tes memiliki reliabilitas sedang (Cronbach’s alpha .5 sampai .7). Implikasi dari hasil ini distraktor yang kurang baik dapat direvisi untuk meningkatkan evaluasi pemahaman peserta yang lebih akurat.

Abstract

Long-term success in a multi-level marketing business environment is a dream for members. But given the challenges and high failure rate in MLM business. Grit becomes an important factor for success. Growth mindset, the belief that abilities can be developed through dedication and hard work. Growth mindset is assumed to influence grit, which is a combination of passion and perseverance to achieve long-term goals. This study aims to examine the role of growth mindset in building grit in multi-level marketing business members. The data in this study were obtained through questionnaire answers to respondents. The sample in this study amounted to 135 respondents. Data analysis in this study used simple linear regression analysis. The results of this study indicate a positive effect of growth mindset on grit in mlm members. Growth mindset affects grit in all aspects, namely consistency of interest and perseverance of effort positively. This means that if there is an increase in growth in mindset, the higher the grit will be. The results of the study are expected to contribute to the development of training strategies and self-development for MLM members, so that they can increase their grit and achieve success in business. Kesuksesan jangka panjang pada lingkungan bisnis multi level marketing menjadi impian bagi member bisnis. Namun mengingat tantangan dan tingkat kegagalan yang tinggi dalam bisnis MLM. Grit menjadi faktor penting bagi keberhasilan. Growth mindset, yaitu keyakinan bahwa kemampuan dapat dikembangkan melalui dedikasi dan kerja keras. Growth mindset diasumsikan dapat mempengaruhi grit, yaitu kombinasi dari passion dan perseverance untuk mencapai tujuan jangka panjang. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji peran growth mindset dalam membangun grit pada member bisnis multi-level marketing. Data pada penelitian ini didapat melalui Jawaban kuesioner pada responden. Sampel pada penelitian ini berjumlah 135 responden. Analisa data pada penelitian ini menggunakan analisis regresi linear sederhana. Hasil pada penelitian ini menunjukkan adanya pengaruh positif growth mindset terhadap grit pada member mlm. Growth mindset mempengaruhi grit pada semua aspek yaitu konsistensi minat dan ketekunan usaha secara positif. Hal tersebut mengartikan apabila terjadi peningkatan pada growth mindset maka akan semakin tinggi grit yang dimiliki. Hasil penelitian diharapkan dapat memberikan kontribusi bagi pengembangan strategi pelatihan dan pengembangan diri bagi member MLM, sehingga dapat meningkatkan grit serta mencapai kesuksesan dalam bisnis.

Abstract

The relationship between internship experiences and career expectations among students has become an increasingly interesting topic for academics and practitioners alike. This study focused on 108 active student participants, both female and male, who had internship experiences at companies across four different sectors: retail, media, hospitality, and technology. The researcher employed a quantitative method using the Career Expectations Questionnaire, consisting of 24 items translated into Indonesian. This scale encompasses eight dimensions: competition, freedom, management, life balance, learning, entrepreneurship, organization membership, and expertise. The results indicated that female students tend to have higher career expectations than male students, while 19-year-old students demonstrated the highest career expectations compared to other age groups. Additionally, internship experiences in technology companies yielded more positive career expectations than other sectors. The study also identified competition and expertise as the primary contributors to career expectations. Hubungan antara pengalaman magang dan ekspektasi karir pada mahasiswa telah menjadi topik yang semakin menarik perhatian di kalangan akademisi dan praktisi. Penelitian ini memfokuskan pada subjek penelitian berjumlah 108 partisipan yang merupakan mahasiswa aktif berjenis kelamin perempuan maupun laki-laki yang memiliki pengalaman magang di sebuah perusahaan dan berasal dari 4 jenis perusahaan yang berbeda, diantaranya perusahaan ritel, media, hospitality, dan teknologi. Peneliti menerapkan metode kuantitatif dengan menggunakan Career Expectations Questionnaire yang terdiri dari 24 item yang telah diterjemahkan dalam bahasa Indonesia. Skala ini memiliki 8 dimensi yaitu competition, freedom, management, life balance, learning, entrepreneur, organization membership dan expertise. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa mahasiswa perempuan cenderung memiliki ekspektasi karir yang lebih tinggi dibandingkan laki-laki, sementara mahasiswa berusia 19 tahun menunjukkan ekspektasi karir yang paling tinggi dibandingkan kelompok usia lainnya. Selain itu, pengalaman magang di perusahaan teknologi menghasilkan ekspektasi karir yang lebih positif dibandingkan sektor lainnya. Penelitian ini juga mengidentifikasi aspek competition dan expertise sebagai kontributor utama terhadap ekspektasi karir.

Abstract

A toxic relationship is a relationship that makes the partner feel underestimated, this will of course affect the mental health of a person. The purpose of this study is to determine the influence of toxic relationships on mental health in adolescent girls in Medan City. This study uses a quantitative method, and the research subjects are 118 adolescent girls aged 18-21 years who already have a partner and live in the city of Medan. The results of the study showed that there was an influence of r = 0.301 with p = 0.001
