Abstract

The use of technology is fundamental in the digital era. Adjustment and transformation are essential activities to keep up with technological developments. One of the uses of technology is product marketing and promotion. Sanjai Tourism Village, located in Bukittinggi City, is one of the villages where marketing and promotion of tourism products are still carried out using conventional promotional methods such as through newspapers, radio advertisements, posters, and distribution of brochures. This method is still limited and cannot reach a broader scope. Therefore, to compete in the digital era, there needs to be a transformation of promotion and marketing of tourism products through the internet media using a website. Information about promoting and marketing tourism products can be done digitally and online using a website. The results of advertising and marketing tourism village products by utilizing the website can be spread and known to the public with a broader reach. Therefore, in the community service activities of the Unand Computer Engineering Department, the Sanjai Tourism Village website was built with a method consisting of several stages, such as coordination, surveys, design, website implementation, improvement, and submission of the website to Sanjai Tourism Village. Each stage has been carried out, and a website has been produced with features such as a homepage, profile, tourism products of various fields, news and activities, and contacts.

Abstract

Sexually transmitted infections (STIs) are a significant public health challenge worldwide. Besides being transmitted through sexual intercourse, STIs can also be transmitted from mother to fetus during pregnancy, childbirth, and breastfeeding. Inadequate surveillance systems, community stigma, and limited access to health care hinder efforts to prevent STI transmission. Therefore, effective interventions are needed. This study aimed to increase the knowledge of the religious affairs office (KUA) staff about STIs and prevention of transmission so that KUA can become a partner to the community health center in providing counseling on healthy reproductive life to prospective couples. Participants were Cilandak KUA's staff and couples who came there. Activities included educational presentations, group discussions, and distribution of educational materials. Pre- and post-tests were conducted to measure the level of knowledge. Questionnaires were used to collect data on demographic characteristics, attitudes, and couple's willingness to undergo STI screening. The results showed an increase in the knowledge of couples and staff regarding STIs and prevention of transmission. Presentation by the doctor was the most effective method. This activity shows KUA's potency as a partner of a community health center in promoting STI prevention. However, ongoing support, training, and evaluation are needed to ensure that accurate information is consistently provided to the couples.

Abstract

This community service activity was chosen to map the Guo Village area to identify existing potentials, such as tourism, regional development, and agriculture. The methods include photogrammetric mapping with drones and terrestrial measurements using Geodetic GPS. The data obtained was then processed using Civil 3D, Agisoft Metashape, and SketchUp software to produce topographic maps, detailed situations, and master plans. The results of this activity show that the mapping of the Guo River area succeeded in producing accurate and detailed maps, which can be used as the basis for regional development planning. In addition, this activity also allowed participants to improve their skills in using mapping technology integrated with Geographic Information Systems (GIS). Although this technology has developed, knowledge of its use in Indonesia is still minimal. Therefore, this activity is expected to encourage the wider use of mapping technology in Indonesia and accelerate the development of the Guo River region.

Abstract

One of the Muda Mandiri farmer groups located in Nagari Sungai Pua, Sungai Pua District, has 30 Peranakan Etawa goats, and this farmer group consists of 11 farmers. This group is one of the highly developed dairy goat farming businesses in Agam Regency. This community service activity aims to apply fermented tithonia technology as an alternative forage feed for ruminants to improve the feed efficiency of dairy goats. The activity method consists of several steps. First, farmer groups were taught about how to manage forage feed and the benefits of thitonia fermentation. Second, they learned the fermentation process, which starts with chopping tithonia, mixing it with inoculum (L. bulgaricus), adding molasses, and mixing it with bran. This mixture was kept in a container without air exposure for fourteen days. Third, the fermented product was tested directly as feed for dairy goats to determine how palatable it was and how much it impacted milk production. Important results showed that although milk production was almost the same as the previous feed using field grass, fermented tithonia could replace up to 30% of field grass. The farmer does not need to search for grass daily, as time and effort are spent more efficiently providing feed. In conclusion, fermented tithonia is an effective and easy-to-implement technology to help dairy goat farmers obtain a more efficient alternative feed, which eases their workload.

Abstract

The social media content creation workshop for health promotion involves non-commercial partners of Achmad Darwis Hospital, Limapuluh Kota Regency, West Sumatra. Along with the development of information technology and digitalization, partners are increasingly aware of the need to optimize social media management as a key element in building the image of the hospital and improving the quality of services to the community. However, existing human resources do not yet have specific expertise in creating effective content for social media. Therefore, it is necessary to hold a social media content creation workshop in order to improve the skills of the Achmad Darwis Hospital health promotion (Promkes) team. A total of 20 participants were involved in this activity. The activity was carried out in stages, starting with lectures, practice, and finally discussions. Quantitatively, an evaluation was carried out by conducting a written test on the material that had been given. The results showed that there was an increase in participants' knowledge in making videos by comparing the test results before and after training. The results obtained from this activity contribute to improving the ability of the Achmad Darwis Hospital Health Promotion team to create content for social media that can improve the image of the hospital and optimize services for the community. It is hoped that this activity can improve the knowledge, skills, and abilities (KSA) of the Achmad Darwis Hospital health promotion team in developing content for social media. It is recommended for health promotion teams to continue to hone their skills in creating health content in order to optimize hospital services and performance.

Abstract

Cardiovascular disease is the primary cause of mortality among women on a global scale. However, the awareness among women regarding the risks associated with cardiovascular disease remains limited, leading to a delay in prevention, treatment, and, ultimately, mortality. This activity is intended to raise awareness and to identify those at high risk of developing cardiovascular diseases. The method uses an educational program and health screening involved 21 women in RT 02 RW 06 Pasar Ambacang, Padang City. The ABCD risk questionnaire was used to measure awareness. The result showed that respondents’ awareness score prior to the educational intervention was 37.5, which increased to 49.5 following the intervention. The health screening results indicated the presence of respondents with obesity (33.3%), overweight (19.1%), and non-ideal abdominal circumference (85.8%). Furthermore, the data revealed that 14.2% of respondents had stage 2 hypertension, 19.1% had stage 1 hypertension, 47.6% had pre-hypertension, 57.1% had high cholesterol levels, and 19.1% had high blood sugar levels. Educational efforts have been proven to increase awareness; moreover, health screening is effective in identifying the risk of cardiovascular disease in women. It is imperative that the female community is provided educational program to enhance their knowledge and awareness regarding disease risk.
