Abstract

This research aims to explore the potential of mindfulness and emotional intelligence as predictors of self-efficacy among high school students. A quantitative approach using a correlational design was employed, with 68 grade XI students at Bodhicitta Buddhist High School in Medan selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected using the Five Facet Mindfulness Questionnaire (FFMQ), Emotional Intelligence Scale, and General Self-Efficacy Scale (GSES). Multiple regression analysis revealed that emotional intelligence significantly influenced self-efficacy (p = 0.000), while mindfulness showed no significant effect (p = 0.067), although it exhibited a strong correlation (r = 0.659). The coefficient of determination (R² = 0.628) indicates that mindfulness and emotional intelligence collectively explain 62.8% of the variability in self-efficacy, while other factors account for 37.2%. The findings highlight that emotional intelligence is the dominant predictor of self-efficacy, whereas mindfulness is supportive. Given these results, emotional intelligence training is recommended as a key strategy for enhancing students' self-efficacy, while structured and long-term mindfulness interventions may further complement this development. The findings provide valuable insights for emphasizing the necessity of a holistic educational approach, blending emotional intelligence training with mindfulness-based strategies to enhance students' psychological resilience and academic success.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze how the construction and reconstruction of the implementation of Child-Friendy School (CFS) policies in bullying prevention are unique in each school by using the theoretical approach of behaviorism and social constructivism. This study uses a case study method with a qualitative approach involving three senior high schools located in Surakarta, Indonesia. The informants were teachers, principals, and students in child-friendly schools. The research instrument used unstructured interviews and school observations as well as focus group discussions with policymakers related to child-friendly schools. Data analysis techniques in this study were carried out interactively through the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results show that the implementation of CFS with a behavioristic pattern needs to be strengthened with a pattern of social constructivism because it is not significant enough to institutionalize CFS in schools, especially in efforts to prevent bullying. The recommendations submitted are conducting a needs analysis according to the conditions of each school by stakeholders, building student character through the student literacy humanity movement, and rootdays activities so that students have experience, thought construction and tolerance attitudes towards diversity. The above makes child-friendly schools can be a strategy to prevent bullying.

Abstract

This study aims to develop a culture-based learning design by applying the Successive Approximation Model (SAM) as an iterative approach that can create an inclusive and adaptive learning experience according to the cultural context of the learners. The SAM model was chosen for its ability to facilitate the flexible development of teaching materials through continuous cycles of evaluation and revision, ensuring the content's relevance to local cultural values, such as traditional wisdom, arts, and social practices closely tied to students' lives. The research method used was a mixed-methods approach, involving arts and culture teachers in Sumedang Regency as the primary respondents. Data was collected through closed questionnaires, and interviews. This study analyzes quantitative data from questionnaires using descriptive statistics, and qualitative data from interviews, observations, and documentation through the stages of data reduction, presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results showed that the application of the SAM model could enhance students' understanding of both local and other cultures, while also developing their awareness of the importance of cultural diversity. The iterative process in SAM allows for the development of more flexible and responsive teaching materials that meet students' needs, thus creating more meaningful learning experiences. This study contributes to the design of culture-based learning that is more relevant to the social and cultural developments in the global society.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the strategic role of teachers in building character education through a multireligious approach in Central Kalimantan. Using a mixed-method approach with a sequential explanatory design, the study combined quantitative analysis of the structural relationships between spiritual engagement, pro-social engagement, interfaith cooperation, and social integration with thematic analysis of in-depth interviews with teachers from five religious traditions (Muslim, Catholicism, Protestantism, Buddhism, and Hinduism). Quantitative data analysis used structural equation modelling with a partial least squares approach and qualitative data used thematic analysis with NVivo 14 software. The results revealed that spiritual engagement has a significant effect on interfaith cooperation and an indirect effect on social integration. In contrast, pro-social engagement has a significant effect on both interreligious cooperation and social integration. Thematic findings showed the convergence of teachers' practices in integrating universal spiritual values, facilitating interfaith pro-social activities, developing interfaith dialogue, and creating an inclusive learning environment that supports students' character-building. Expert validation confirmed the successful implementation of interpretive and integrative approaches in transforming religious education from an exclusive to an inclusive, transformative model.

Abstract

Abstract: This study aims to analyze differentiated learning innovations in the context of inclusive education. The main focus is how content, process and product differentiation strategies are implemented to accommodate student diversity and the role of Special Assistance Teachers (GPK) in supporting the learning of students with special needs. This study used a qualitative approach with a case study method. Data collection was carried out through observation, in-depth interviews, and document analysis. Research informants consisted of class teachers, GPK, madrasah principals, students, and parents. The data analysis technique used the Miles & Huberman interactive model, which includes data reduction, data presentation, concluding, and verification. The results of the study showed that content differentiation was implemented through various material formats, such as text, audio, and video, to accommodate diverse learning styles. Process differentiation was carried out using heterogeneous group-based learning methods and the use of teaching aids to improve student interaction and understanding. Meanwhile, product differentiation provides flexibility for students in displaying their understanding through various forms of assignments. Although this strategy increases student engagement and motivation, the main challenges found are limited resources, teacher readiness, and an evaluation system that does not fully support the differentiation approach. This study recommends increasing teacher training in differentiated learning strategies, optimizing the role of GPK, and utilizing educational technology to improve the effectiveness of inclusive learning.
