Data collection through interviews and observations of three elderly people aged 60 years and over. The results obtained show that the elderly feel satisfaction in the dimensions of physical well-being, social well-being, emotional well-being development and activity while having pets. Pets can serve as a source of social support that provides both physical and psychological benefits for the elderly. In material well-being, the elderly show less satisfaction due to unstable financial conditions. However, pet care can be adjusted to the financial condition of the elderly. This research can be a reference for the government to provide financial assistance, especially to the elderly.

Learning motivation is the impetus that arises from within individuals to learn. Learning motivation is one of the important factors that individuals must possess in their efforts to achieve good learning outcomes. One of the factors that influences learning motivation is usage. This study aims to determine the effect of smartphone usage intensity on high school students' learning motivation. This study uses a quantitative regression approach. The respondents in this study were 196 students of grade XI at SMA Negeri 2 Pinrang (n=196, 49 males and 147 females). The sampling technique used was cluster random sampling. The results of the study indicate that there is no significance between smartphone usage intensity and high school students' learning motivation (p: X to Y1 = 0.205. X to Y2 = 0.181. X to Y3 = 0.384), which means there is no influence between smartphone usage intensity and intrinsic, extrinsic, and amotivation motivation in students. In this case, smartphone usage intensity is not significant in the process of whether learning motivation emerges or not in students. The implications of this study show differences in results compared to previous studies that stated an influence between smartphone usage and students' learning motivation. This study is expected to serve as a basis for further researchers who investigate similar variables.

Child abuse has profound consequences for survivors. It increases the the risk of brain disorder, emotional regulation, self-adjustment, learning, and memory disorders, and is correlated with anti-social interactions and violent behavior in adulthood. This research aims to understand how individuals who have experienced child maltreatment, committed a violent crime once they became an adult. A narrative method was used in this study. By illuminating how early-life victimization could shape the life of an individual, we hope to shed light and eventually prevent survivors of child maltreatment down a path of violence. Three violent offenders were the subjects of this study. Data collection methods in the form of semi-structured interviews and non-human sources of information were carried out on three perpetrators of criminal acts of murder and abuse which resulted in death. The results in this study were analyzed using thematic analysis in chronological order. It was revealed that there are several risk factors in the series of cases of criminal acts. Intergenerational transmission of multiple risk factors and the use of illegal drugs are the main causes of aggressive behavior and criminal acts.

The presence of online stores makes transactions easier for consumers, especially teenagers. However, shopping activities can trigger continuous purchases or addiction which is called compulsive buying. Individuals with high materialism will feel they can raise their social status or build a good personal identity with the items they use. This research was conducted on 355 adolescents in Makassar City. Samples were taken using the Accidental Sampling technique. The results of this research show that there is a relationship between materialism and compulsive buying in the online shopping phenomenon of teenagers in Makassar City with a significant value (r = 0.350; p = 0.000). Researchers conducted additional tests to see how much influence materialism has on compulsive buying. Materialism contributes 12.2% to compulsive buying. It is hoped that this research can contribute to knowledge in the field of social psychology, especially regarding the relationship between materialism and compulsive buying in society, especially teenagers. The implication of this research is that for teenagers who have high materialism, the results of this research can provide new insights regarding online shopping and compulsive buying behavior.

Homesickness is one of the negative emotions experienced by individuals, which tends to increase when they move from one place to another. This feeling is commonly felt by students who are studying in a different city, causing them to be far from familiar places and their families. They must learn to be independent, cope with feelings of longing, and adjust to a new environment. These students also face challenges in their educational processes that differ from those of students who do not move away from home. Therefore, students need to adapt to their surroundings to be accepted and to feel a sense of belonging. In short, students who are away from home need to have a sense of belonging. This research aims to determine the effect of sense of belonging on homesickness among students in Makassar. The sample for this study used accidental sampling techniques, with a total of 198 subjects. This study employed a quantitative method with simple regression analysis. The results indicate that there is a significant effect of sense of belonging on homesickness among students in Makassar, with a significance level of (0.00 < 0.05). The R-Square model is -0.337, meaning that sense of belonging influences homesickness by 33.7%, while 66.3% is influenced by other factors. The implications of this research serve as a reference that can contribute to others regarding sense of belonging and homesickness.

Parents who have children with special needs tend to reject when they first find out that their children are diagnosed with special needs, on the one hand parents who have confidence in caring for their children make it easy to get to the stage of self-acceptance. This study aims to determine whether there is a relationship between parenting self-efficacy and self-acceptance of parents who have children with autism spectrum disorder in Makassar City. This study used Spearman Rho correlation analysis technique. Respondents in this study were 146 subjects obtained using accidental sampling technique. The results showed that there was a significant relationship between parenting self-efficacy and self-acceptance in parents (r = 0.809, p = 0.000 <0.05) indicating that the higher the parenting self-efficacy score, the higher the self-acceptance in parents who have children with special needs. This research can be a reference for parents who have children with special needs to be able to improve parenting self-efficacy and self-acceptance. Suggestions for future researchers to pair self-acceptance variables with other variables to see other factors that have a greater relationship to self-acceptance, as well as using other methods in data analysis or the research implementation process. The implication of this research is an understanding of the need for parents who have children with special needs to increase parenting self-efficacy and self-acceptance, so that they can have a positive influence in the form of proper care for children with special needs so that children grow and develop into better individuals for the future.

In the context of national security, social disasters are part of non-military threats because they are multidimensional because all events or series of events are caused by humans which include social conflict between groups or communities and terror. The aim of this research is to analyze the overcrowding problem that occurs in prisons and detention centers which has the potential to become a non-military threat based on disaster aspects and indicators of non-military defense threats. This research method uses a descriptive qualitative approach to analyze phenomena that are currently occurring. The research results show that there are five impacts caused by overcrowding as a social disaster which is a non-military threat, namely: 1 Social Conflict, 2 Prisonization of Crime Teaching, 3 Sexual Harassment, 4 Narcotics Smuggling, and 5 Discrimination. This is based on daily occupancy data held by the Directorate General of Corrections and through direct observations and secondary data obtained by researchers. Narcotics cases account for the largest number of residents in almost every prison and detention center in Indonesia. The research conclusion is that the development of the threat of social disaster caused by overcrowded conditions in prisons and detention centers has the potential to become a threat to non-military defense if seen from the disaster aspect and threat indicators.

Children in conflict with the law (ABH) are those aged 13-18 who are involved in legal issues. ABH often face negative stigma upon reintegration into society, which can lead to negative consequences such as decreased self-confidence and difficulty recovering from poor labels. This study aims to examine the impact of resilience on the self-efficacy of ABH at UPTD PPA Makassar. A quantitative approach was used, involving 91 ABH subjects from various ethnic groups. Data were collected using resilience and self-efficacy scales adapted by the researcher. Purposive sampling was employed. Simple linear regression analysis revealed a significance value of 0.051, indicating a significant effect of resilience on self-efficacy. The R-square value of 0.400 means that 40.0% of the variance in self-efficacy can be explained by resilience, while the remaining 60.0% is influenced by other factors not explored in this study. It is hoped that this research will contribute to the knowledge, especially in the field of social psychology, regarding the impact of resilience on self-efficacy, particularly for children entering adolescence.
