Indonesian Journal of Society Engagement (IJSE) merupakan jurnal tahunan yang membahas praktik dan proses keterlibatan masyarakat. Jurnal ini terbit tiga kali setahun (April, Agustus, dan Desember). Untuk itu kami menyediakan forum bagi para akademisi, praktisi, dan perwakilan masyarakat untuk mengeksplorasi isu-isu dan merefleksikan praktik-praktik yang berkaitan dengan rangkaian penuh aktivitas masyarakat yang diikutsertakan. Jurnal ini merupakan online peer-review yang didedikasikan untuk publikasi penelitian berkualitas yang berfokus pada penelitian, implementasi, kebijakan tentang keterlibatan masyarakat. Kami berharap jurnal ini dapat menyebarkan isu-isu pelibatan masyarakat di seluruh Indonesia. Indonesian Journal of Society Engagement diterbitkan oleh Lembaga Kajian Demokrasi dan Pemberdayaan Masyarakat (LKD-PM). Jurnal ini memberikan kesempatan untuk berbagi wawasan terperinci dari berbagai pemahaman dan praktik yang terkait dengan layanan masyarakat. Keterlibatan Masyarakat berarti pengembangan masyarakat, layanan masyarakat, pemberdayaan masyarakat, penjangkauan masyarakat, dan penelitian tindakan. Abstract

This Community Service activity aims to provide training for entrepreneurs who are members of the Bekasi Upgrade SME Community where these SME entrepreneurs need knowledge and resources in carrying out digital marketing strategies in the context of business development. The method used is by giving lectures or presenting material directly. consisting of an explanation of what digital marketing is, creating marketing content and using social media marketing. By knowing the concept of digital marketing and using digital, SME content entrepreneurs can increase the sales potential of their products and attract customers from various regions so that they can expand their market and the business they build can grow in a relatively fast time.

Abstract

This community service project conducted by the Jakarta area accounting lecturer forum team aims to increase tax awareness among Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprise (MSME) owners in the Gede Pangrango Tourism Village. The project conducted workshops, provided individual tax assistance, and advocated for policy changes. As a result, there is potential for a significant increase in tax awareness, improved tax compliance, and increased tax revenue following these activities. The project successfully established a sustainable tax education program for MSME owners in Gede Pangrango Village with several contributions, including: (1) increased tax knowledge and compliance; (2) empowerment of MSMEs; (3) improved quality of financial statements; (4) increased competitiveness of MSMEs, and (5) appreciation from the local government for the role of academics in assisting MSME owners to understand tax obligations.

Abstract

English teacher competence is one of the crucial factors in achieving success in English education. Therefore, the competence of teachers and prospective teachers must continuously be improved by giving trainings related to English language and English language teaching. The PkM team tried to improve the language skills of Islamic boarding school teachers and prospective teachers by giving TOEFL workshop. Specifically, this study explains how the workshop was conducted, the improvement in participants' TOEFL abilities before and after the workshop, and participants' responses to the TOEFL workshop activities. This activity involved 22 participants. The workshop began with a pre-test to assess participants' initial abilities, followed by 14 hours of instructional sessions, and concluded with a post-test to measure the improvement in participants' abilities, along with a questionnaire to evaluate their perceptions and responses to the activity. The analysis results revealed that the workshop was conducted smoothly using interactive and practice-based methods. The pre-test and post-test data indicated a significant improvement in participants' TOEFL scores after attending the workshop. Moreover, the participants' responses to the activity were very positive, with the majority stating that the workshop was relevant, beneficial, and boosted their confidence in understanding TOEFL material. This TOEFL workshop successfully contributed to enhancing participants' English language competence and received positive feedback from the participants. Similar activities are recommended to be conducted regularly to support the professional development of educators and prospective educators in Bengkalis Districk.

Abstract

The Orphanage Assistance Agency is an agency whose members are orphans from RW 05, 06 and 07 of Pondok Cina Village, Beji District, Depok City. The purpose of the Orphanage Assistance Agency is to form students of the nation who are pious to Allah SWT, knowledgeable and have noble morals. The Orphanage Assistance Agency consists of teenagers consisting of orphans from RW 05, 06 and 07, Pondok Cina, Beji, Depok who are students from Junior High School to High School. The problem faced by the Orphanage Assistance Agency is the lack of understanding of the use of digital financial applications to manage personal finances wisely and better. This community service activity aims to develop knowledge, understanding and motivation in planning, recording, and controlling personal finances more efficiently with financial intelligence in the digital era through the use of applications for personal financial management for Orphans from RW 05, 06, and 07 Depok. The results of the study showed that there was an increase in participants by 92% in utilizing technology through the use of financial management applications, namely financial records by recording income and expenditure of funds and financial reports so that they can check the remaining funds at any time and the transition from conventional financial management to a digital-based system can be used to make long-term financial planning.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of the implementation of the Regional Government Information System (SIPD) in supporting transparency and accountability in financial management at the sub-district level, particularly in Padangsidimpuan Utara Sub-district. Through direct observation during an internship program, this study identifies key aspects of SIPD usage, including system alignment with user needs, interface usability, data input speed, reporting transparency, and the availability of verification and validation features. The evaluation results indicate that while SIPD meets the basic needs of financial reporting and provides an audit trail feature, the system still faces several technical challenges, such as limited data integration, server disruptions, and delays in data input due to suboptimal interdepartmental coordination. Furthermore, the evaluation of the previous year’s Work Plan (Renja) implementation revealed gaps between budget targets and actual realizations, serving as a critical basis for future system and workflow improvements. Therefore, enhanced training, technical support, and better coordination systems are needed to optimize the overall utilization of SIPD.

Abstract

This service activity aims to revitalize the function of the SMPN 1 Sumberpucung student cooperative into an active and inclusive means of entrepreneurship learning through the multiple intelligences approach and strengthening the role of young entrepreneur leader. The service was carried out using the participatory action research (PAR) method using the 4P approach: Preparation, Implementation, Closing, and Reporting. This activity involved 50 students and 15 teachers in a series of trainings, business simulations, and organizing an entrepreneurship bazaar. The results of the activities showed a significant increase in students' entrepreneurial literacy, the entrepreneurship bazaar generated a profit of IDR 4,825,000. In addition, the program succeeded in establishing SPENDHUSA entrepreneurial cadres as a driver of student cooperative sustainability. The multiple intelligences approach proved effective in exploring students' entrepreneurial potential according to their dominant intelligence, while supporting the achievement of sustainable development goals (SDGs) point 4 on quality education.

Abstract

Waste remains a major issue in Bangka Regency. To address this, a community service program was conducted through the empowerment of Bank Sampah Karya Mandiri in Karya Makmur Village. The program aimed to enhance public awareness and waste management capabilities through digital education and the implementation of an Internet of Things (IoT)-based management system. Activities included discussions with partners, development of an information system and IoT-based digital scales, training for waste bank managers, and community education. A dedicated website was created as an information and promotional platform, while the IoT-based scale enabled automatic and accurate waste transaction records. Evaluation was conducted using questionnaires completed by 38 respondents. Results showed a 90% improvement in management capabilities and a 91% increase in market strategy effectiveness. These outcomes indicate that the implemented system effectively improves operational efficiency and community understanding of the economic value of waste. The program positively impacted partner self-reliance and opened opportunities for further technology-based development. Continued monitoring and assistance are recommended to ensure sustainability. Abstrak Sampah masih menjadi permasalahan utama di Kabupaten Bangka. Untuk mengatasi hal ini, dilakukan kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat melalui pemberdayaan Bank Sampah Karya Mandiri di Desa Karya Makmur. Kegiatan ini bertujuan meningkatkan kesadaran dan kemampuan pengelolaan sampah melalui edukasi digital dan penerapan sistem manajemen berbasis Internet of Things (IoT). Tahapan kegiatan meliputi diskusi dengan mitra, pengembangan sistem informasi dan timbangan digital IoT, pelatihan pengelola, serta edukasi masyarakat. Website bank sampah dikembangkan sebagai sarana informasi dan promosi, sementara timbangan IoT memungkinkan pencatatan transaksi secara otomatis dan akurat. Evaluasi dilakukan melalui kuesioner yang diisi oleh 38 responden. Hasil menunjukkan peningkatan sebesar 90% pada aspek kemampuan manajemen dan 91% pada aspek strategi pasar. Capaian ini menunjukkan sistem yang dikembangkan efektif dalam meningkatkan efisiensi operasional dan kesadaran masyarakat terhadap nilai ekonomi sampah. Kegiatan ini memberikan dampak positif terhadap kemandirian mitra dalam mengelola sampah dan membuka peluang pengembangan lanjutan berbasis teknologi. Abstract

This Community Service (PkM) was carried out with the aim of providing understanding and provisions to students of the LP3I Jakarta Polytechnic, Ciputat Campus, South Tangerang City regarding article writing and easy tips for publication in journals. Thus, students are able to create quality articles that can penetrate scientific journals. The PkM method includes partner situation analysis, problem identification, problem-solving solutions, preparation for implementation, implementation of activities as well as evaluation, reporting, and output. The results of this PkM show an increase in participant knowledge, ability to draft scientific articles, use citation tools, proficiency in using the mendeley application, and ability to submit to journals. Then the interest in publications increases and the strengthening of academic networks is increasing. Abstrak Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat (PkM) ini dilaksanakan bertujuan untuk memberikan pemahaman dan bekal kepada mahasiswa dan mahasiswi Politeknik LP3I Jakarta Kampus Ciputat,  Kota Tangerang Selatan mengenai penulisan artikel dan tips mudah untuk publikasi pada jurnal. Dengan demikian mahasiswa dan mahasiswi mampu membuat artikel yang berkualitas sehingga bisa tembus pada jurnal ilmiah. Metode PkM ini meliputi analisis situasi mitra, identifikasi masalah, solusi pemecahan masalah, persiapan pelaksanaan, pelaksanaan kegiatan serta evaluasi, pelaporan, dan luaran. Hasil PkM menunjukkan adanya peningkatan pengetahuan peserta, mampu dalam menyusun draf artikel ilmiah, penggunaan alat bantu sitasi, mahir dalam menggunakan aplikasi mendeley, dan mampu melakukan submission pada jurnal. Kemudian minat publikasi meningkat dan penguatan jejaring akademik yang semakin banyak. Kata Kunci: pelatihan; artikel; publikasi; jurnal

Abstract

This community service aims to improve the pedagogic competence of teachers at SMK L'PINA East Jakarta. The method of implementing activities is carried out in stages through five main stages, namely: (1) socialization, (2) training, (3) technology application, (4) mentoring and evaluation, and (5) program sustainability. This activity was carried out with a participatory and contextual approach. The results of the activity showed a significant improvement in teachers' understanding and skills in designing adaptive, innovative, and technology-based learning. Teachers are able to prepare differentiated lesson plans, utilize digital platforms, and apply formative and authentic assessments in learning activities. With these results, this activity is considered effective in strengthening teacher capacity and relevant to be replicated in other schools in similar target areas. Abstrak Pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kompetensi pedagogik para guru di SMK L’PINA Jakarta Timur. Metode pelaksanaan kegiatan dilakukan secara bertahap melalui lima tahapan utama, yaitu: (1) sosialisasi, (2) pelatihan, (3) penerapan teknologi, (4) pendampingan dan evaluasi, serta (5) keberlanjutan program. Kegiatan ini dilaksanakan dengan pendekatan partisipatif dan kontekstual. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan adanya peningkatan yang signifikan dalam pemahaman dan keterampilan guru dalam merancang pembelajaran yang adaptif, inovatif, dan berbasis teknologi. Para guru mampu menyusun RPP yang berdiferensiasi, memanfaatkan platform digital, serta menerapkan asesmen formatif dan autentik dalam kegiatan pembelajaran. Dengan hasil tersebut, kegiatan ini dinilai efektif dalam memperkuat kapasitas guru dan relevan untuk direplikasi di sekolah-sekolah lain dalam wilayah binaan yang serupa. Abstract

This community service program aims to transform Kampung Wisata Gatot Sumberpucung into a traditional gastronomy niche market destination through the Strategy-Action-Technology (S.A.T) approach. The implementation method uses participatory action research involving 25 Pokdarwis members and 15 MSME actors. Activities were carried out for 8 months through a series of workshops, training, and cultural festivals. The program results showed an increase in gatot production capacity from 50kg to 150kg per month, implementation of PIRT standard hygienic SOPs, digitalization of bookkeeping systems, development of integrated digital marketing platforms, and organizing the Kampung Gatot Festival which successfully attracted 500 visitors. This program successfully transformed Kampung Gatot into a gastronomic tourism destination that combines local wisdom with digital technology. The economic impact can be seen from the 30% increase in MSME income and the creation of 10 new jobs. This program supports the achievement of SDGs point 8 on decent work and economic growth and point 11 on sustainable communities. Program sustainability is guaranteed through the formation of an independent management team and commitment to allocate 10% of profits for community development. Abstrak Program pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan mentransformasi Kampung Wisata Gatot Sumberpucung menjadi destinasi niche market gastronomi tradisional melalui pendekatan Strategy-Action-Technology (S.A.T). Metode pelaksanaan menggunakan participatory action research dengan melibatkan 25 anggota Pokdarwis dan 15 pelaku UMKM. Kegiatan dilaksanakan selama 8 bulan melalui serangkaian workshop, pelatihan, dan festival budaya. Hasil program menunjukkan peningkatan kapasitas produksi gatot dari 50kg menjadi 150kg per bulan, implementasi SOP higienis standar PIRT, digitalisasi sistem pembukuan, pengembangan platform pemasaran digital terintegrasi, serta penyelenggaraan Kampung Gatot Festival yang berhasil menarik 500 pengunjung. Program ini berhasil mentransformasi Kampung Gatot menjadi destinasi wisata gastronomi yang menggabungkan kearifan lokal dengan teknologi digital. Dampak ekonomi terlihat dari peningkatan pendapatan UMKM sebesar 30% dan terciptanya 10 lapangan kerja baru. Program ini mendukung pencapaian SDGs poin 8 tentang pekerjaan layak dan pertumbuhan ekonomi serta poin 11 tentang komunitas berkelanjutan. Keberlanjutan program dijamin melalui pembentukan tim pengelola mandiri dan komitmen alokasi 10% keuntungan untuk pengembangan komunitas.
