Indonesian Journal of Society Engagement (IJSE) merupakan jurnal tahunan yang membahas praktik dan proses keterlibatan masyarakat. Jurnal ini terbit tiga kali setahun (April, Agustus, dan Desember). Untuk itu kami menyediakan forum bagi para akademisi, praktisi, dan perwakilan masyarakat untuk mengeksplorasi isu-isu dan merefleksikan praktik-praktik yang berkaitan dengan rangkaian penuh aktivitas masyarakat yang diikutsertakan. Jurnal ini merupakan online peer-review yang didedikasikan untuk publikasi penelitian berkualitas yang berfokus pada penelitian, implementasi, kebijakan tentang keterlibatan masyarakat. Kami berharap jurnal ini dapat menyebarkan isu-isu pelibatan masyarakat di seluruh Indonesia. Indonesian Journal of Society Engagement diterbitkan oleh Lembaga Kajian Demokrasi dan Pemberdayaan Masyarakat (LKD-PM). Jurnal ini memberikan kesempatan untuk berbagi wawasan terperinci dari berbagai pemahaman dan praktik yang terkait dengan layanan masyarakat. Keterlibatan Masyarakat berarti pengembangan masyarakat, layanan masyarakat, pemberdayaan masyarakat, penjangkauan masyarakat, dan penelitian tindakan. Abstract

This Community Service activity aims to provide socialization and training for teenagers who are under the guidance of the Putra Setia Orphanage, the Rukun Istri Sejahtera Foundation, Central Jakarta where these teenagers need knowledge about personality development with the DISC concept. The method used is to give lectures or direct presentation of material. The DISC concept consists of Dominant, Influence, Steady and Compliant. By knowing the DISC concept, these teenagers can get to know themselves in an effort to develop personality and increase human resources.

Abstract

The Association of Overseas Argapuri is one of the social communities in Jabodetabek society. The movement of this association can be further enhanced by providing assistance in the form of training and additional capacity building. One of the assistance that can be done is to provide training regarding the use of information technology. Having sufficient knowledge and insight into skills will later become the provision to be able to metamorphose into an independent person who can not only be useful for himself, but also be able to provide benefits to society and the universe after living in the Argapuri Migrant Association. Community service activities focus on graphic design training for members of the Agapuri overseas community. This training is expected to provide added value for the development of the Argapuri migrant community. So that the agenda for using information technology can run sustainably in the Argapuri migrant community and have a significant impact.

Abstract

Training is an important tool for career development. By acquiring new skills and knowledge, individuals can increase their chances of getting a job, getting promoted, or getting a promotion. Training leads to new career opportunities and can help achieve long-term goals. Community service was carried out by the PPM Team from the Department of Business Administration with the theme "Development of Alumni Skills Through 4-Star Hotel Administration and Service Training at Mercure Pontianak". A possible solution to the problem is to offer advanced training or professional development for alumni to improve their skills in administration and service. This can be in the form of seminars, workshops, or special training programmes that help them stay relevant to the latest developments in the field. The output targets in this PPM are the PPM Journal and articles in print or electronic media. This PPM is expected to be able to improve technical skills relevant to administration and hotel services, especially for POLNEP Business Administration alumni

Abstract

Curug Village, Gunung Sindur District, Bogor Regency intends to make Sawah Pulo a rice fields tourism destination. The tourism awareness group is the spearhead for realizing these ideals. The Curug Village Government formed a Tourism Awareness Group, Designating Kampung Sawah Pulo as a rice field tourism location in the south of Jakarta. According to the results of the discussion, residents in RT 03 RW 03, Curug Village have agreed to make their area a tourist location. Realizing a Tourism Village is intended to achieve economic independence in the future. The Community Service/PkM carried out by the UPN Veteran Jakarta Lecturer Team is in the form of assistance to the Tourism Awareness Group so that these ideals can be realized. The Applied PkM/Community Partnership Team intends to provide solutions to problems in realizing a tourist village in Curug Village from the fields of Group Communication, Finance, Diplomacy, and Politics Community Engagement. The Next goal is to realize the independence of the people in Curug Village by taking on an economic role according to their abilities. Besides that, the Applied PkM Team supports the achievement of the eight point of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), namely decent work and economic growth, especially in Curug Village. Optimizing Tourism Awareness Group in the community according to the urgency of the needs of the Curug Village community.

Abstract

The phrase "Gen-z" refers to the generation born between 1997 and 2012. This generation has a global mindset and sees technology as their fundamental necessity. In other words, Gen-Z already outperforms the previous generation in terms of ICT/ICT skills. However, not all of the archipelago's Gen Z are yet proficient in navigating the digital age. Furthermore, the abilities required to become a competent individual include more than just being qualified to utilize ICT. As a result, today's youth must be capable of critical thinking and problem solving, as well as communication, teamwork, and creativity. According to the facts on the ground, many young people still do not comprehend the four soft skills and do not recognize the necessity of possessing the soft skills known as the 4C talents. This community service intends to introduce these 4C abilities and how crucial they are for the generation living in the twenty-first century, the digitalization century.The results of this Community Service are, (1) students of MAN 2 Kampar-Riau understand critical thinking and problem solving, communication, collaboration, and creativity skills, (2) students improve their 4C skills, (3) Students able to implement these 4 skills in their daily lives since they got enlightened about the knowledge from the given PkM, (4). Another goal of this PkM is to create the younger generation, especially Gen Z, who are aware of the massive changes in this digital era, are digitally savvy and encourage them to think critically and be able to solve problems, communicate well and effectively, collaborate with teams, be innovative and creative.

Abstract

The purpose of this community service (PkM) is to find out the use of language and speech of tandon tour traders in serving consumer visitors in South Tangerang. This service was carried out by the tourist attraction Situ Tandon Ciater. The service method uses lectures, discussions, and direct observation in the field. The participants of the activity were Tandon Ciater administrators and traders at TandonCiater tourist attraction. This service activity can be carried out well and can achieve the goals expected by the implementer. Based on the results of direct observation to the field, it is known that traders at Tandon Ciater tourism object, South Tangerang City do not have good communication, speech and language use skills. This can be seen when merchants communicate with buyers/consumers. Merchants need good communication training to serve consumers.

Abstract

In community service activities, we explored the implementation of an innovative spirit in tourist traders in Tandon Ciater, South Tangerang City. The background involves the challenges faced by local traders in dealing with dynamic changes in the tourism industry. Our main objective is to understand the extent to which traders in Tandon Ciater implement innovation in their business practices and its impact on the tourist experience. Through a qualitative approach, we investigate traders' efforts in developing new products and services, as well as innovative strategies in marketing and business management. The results of community service activities show that traders who adopt an innovative spirit experience significant increases in competitiveness and income. They successfully identify local market opportunities, respond to changing tourism trends, and create unique experiences for visitors. In this context, innovation is not only limited to physical products, but also includes the use of technology to improve service and communication with customers. In conclusion, the application of an innovative spirit to tourist traders in Tandon Ciater can be a valuable model for developing the local economy and increasing the attractiveness of tourist destinations. Therefore, innovative development efforts need to be supported and are not sufficient to encourage sustainable growth in the tourism sector.

Abstract

This Community Service (PkM) is entitled Training in Making Simple Cash Flow Reports for MSMEs in Tandon Ciater, Kel. Buaran, District. Serpong, South Tangerang City. The method used is a survey method and direct delivery of material, guidance and assistance in the practice of making a simple cash flow report specifically for MSMEs who conduct their business in Tandon Ciater. The conclusion of this PkM program is that it has not yet achieved maximum results, but efforts to continue this service will be sustainable until the MSMEs in Tandon Ciater are at least able and understand how to make their own simple cash flow reports. If the MSME players are able and skilled at making simple cash flow reports, the PkM plan for the next semester will be implemented at this place as well and will provide training on how to calculate cost of goods production, cost of goods sold and calculate profit and loss reports.

Abstract

This Community Service activity aims to provide training for teenagers who are members of the RW 007 Margonda Youth Association organization, Depok, West Java, where these teenagers need knowledge about how to build a brand in entrepreneurship. Current developments in the era of digitalization mean that consumers can communicate easily by social media, which requires business owners to build a brand that is human-oriented. Building a brand that is oriented towards humans as customers can be done by understanding consumers through social listening, netnography and empathic research methods. By knowing the concept of building a human-oriented brand, these teenagers can easily capture consumer responses and innovate products according to their customers' needs.

Abstract

Community service activities aim to provide socialization about strategies to achieve competitive advantage for the Ciptagelar Community, Sukabumi, West Java without having to abandon local wisdom and culture that has been strongly adhered to by the Ciptagelar Community. Community Service Activities for the Ciptagelar community aim to increase the role of local wisdom in empowering the community and building competitive advantages at the local level. The service approach is carried out through active collaboration with the local community. Service activities are carried out by means of outreach to explore and recognize local wisdom which is manifested in Ciptagelar in Sukabumi. Active community participation is the main basis in this process, so that increasing local knowledge and skills can make a positive contribution to economic development and sustainability in the area. The results of the service show that through a collaborative approach and community empowerment, the local wisdom of the Ciptagelar community can be integrated into various sectors, including micro and small businesses, tourism and creative industries. Increasing community participation in utilizing Ciptagelar as a local resource can open up new opportunities for sustainable economic development in Sukabumi. This journal provides a practical overview of how community service can be an effective instrument in exploring and building competitive advantages through local wisdom. The implications of this service activity can be a model for developing participatory strategies in utilizing local potential to increase the competitiveness and welfare of communities in various regions.
