Jubaedah Journal managed by Faculty of Teacher Training and Education and published by LP2M, Bina Bangsa University, Indonesia. It is at the national level that covers a lot of common problems or issues related to community services.

Abstract

TOEFL (Test of English as Foreign Language) training is a necessity for students in Islamic boarding schools, especially for final year students who will take the TOEFL test as one of the requirements for graduation or when entering the world of work. One of the pesantrens that is used as a partner is Pesantren Al-Mashduqie, Kamal, Bangkalan. The main problem faced by the partner is the lack of understanding related to TOEFL so that the TOEFL scores of students in the AlMashduqie Islamic Boarding School are still not in line with the expected target. Therefore, community service activities carried out by the academic community in the English Literature Study Program need to be carried out as a form of practicing the Tri Dharma of Higher Education. The purpose of this activity is to increase the TOEFL score of students in the Al-Mashduqie Islamic Boarding School in Bangkalan Regency. The dedication method used during the training activities are the lecture method, question and answer, and practice working on TOEFL questions in accordance with the material that has been prepared by the presenters. The results of the community service activities show that there is an increase in the TOEFL score of students in Al-Mashduqie Islamic Boarding School environment, Kamal, Bangkalan

Abstract

This PKM activity was carried out based on a situation analysis to explore the main problems faced by partners, namely the low insight and ability of students to understand IoT and its implementation for automatic control systems. The reason is because this material is not given in a special subject, but is part of the Electronics Engineering course. Another cause is the impact of online learning which is not optimal during the PPKM Covid 19 period, especially for the implementation of practicum. PKM was carried out by the PKM Team from the Department of Electrical Engineering, UNUJA Paiton, aimed at 35 students of SMKN 1 Banyuanyar, Department of Industrial Electrical Engineering, 11th grade. The team created an IoT learning module for the Automated Light Control System consisting of Teaching Aids, Learning Modules and Videos containing introductory materials and introduction to IoT (simple learning). This is in accordance with the conditions of students who need basic level of IoT knowledge, because they have never had this knowledge before. The implementation of this PKM can run smoothly and obtain results in accordance with the objectives. The results of the program evaluation show that the 6 achievement indicators have been well achieved. In the implementation of the before after test, there was an increase of 92% in the post-test. As a follow-up to this PKM, it is recommended that schools develop existing learning modules so that technology adaptation can continue to be carried out and is beneficial for increasing knowledge and understanding of IoT for both students and teachers

Abstract

Thalassemia is a hereditary disease caused by abnormalities in red blood cells in which the individual has a gene disorder that causes reduced production of hemoglobin in red blood cells. People with Thalassemia, especially the type of Thalassemia Major, need routine therapy and medication. These routine therapy and medication activities sometimes cause various problems and obstacles in the lives of people with thalassemia both physically and psychologically. Individuals with thalassemia also show impaired psychosocial and school functioning. The desire and enthusiasm for learning decreased, giving rise to human resources with low educational backgrounds. The lack of education especially the knowledge of health terms in English is one of the problems. The program of English Injection for Thalassemia intended to create an English learning space for people with Thalassemia. English Injection for Thalassemia aimed to provide English education, especially information about medical terms which are important in the treatment of thalassemia. The object of the program is the members of the Association of Indonesian Thalassemia Patients, commonly called PPTI Banyumas. The method of implementing this program was used fun learning methods and media. It provided English training in groups through indoor and outdoor activities with basic English expressions and English medical terms for Thalassemia

Abstract

Investment essentially investing capital with the hope of getting a profit in the future. One of the investment instruments is the capital market. Financial inclusion index data shows that the capital market literacy index in Indonesia is quite low compared to other financial literacy indexes such as banking, insurance, financing institutions and pawnshops. In fact, investing in the capital market is one investment that is quite easy and profitable. In terms of the age of investors, the age range of 15-17 years, which is the age of teenagers, still has a minimal level of capital market investment literacy. This is also experienced by students of SMA Negeri 2 Pemalang who are still new to capital market investment. The New Investor Literacy Program is expected to be able to increase investment understanding so that students can prepare for financial well-being in the future. The method used in this activity is education and training, where SMA Negeri 2 Pemalang students will be given education in advance about the concept of capital market investment, then continue with training on how to practice investing in capital market products in Indonesia. In general, this activity ran smoothly and conducively with the enthusiasm and curiosity of SMA Negeri 2 Pemalang students who were so great in terms of capital market investment.

Abstract

This community service aimed to improve the speaking skills (mahārah kalām) of the Darut Tarbiyah Islamic Boarding School students using the Participatory Action Research approach. The results of community service showed that to improve students' speaking skills (mahārah kalām) it is necessary to apply relevant learning methods according to the characteristics of the students, among the methods carried out are as follows: 1) doing hiwār in pairs using sentence structures provided with intonation good and correct, 2) doing hiwār according to the context of the theme of the conversation precisely and smoothly, 3) imitating examples of uslub questions with good and correct intonation, 4) imitating examples of uslub answering questions with good and correct intonation, 5) getting used to doing hiwār according to the theme chosen by yourself with good and correct intonation

Abstract

Learning media is currently an integral part that cannot be separated from the entire learning system. With the use of media the learning process will be more meaningful. One application that can be used in making interactive media is Ispring. Ispring is an application that can convert presentation files into flash format and SCORM/AICC form, which are forms that are often used in LMS (Learning management System) e-learning. Ispring is very easy to use and can be integrated into MS Power Point. The Ispring application provides features that can develop teaching materials in power point format into multimedia in html5 or exe format which can be equipped with music, voice recordings of presenters, videos, and quiz makers. This activity aims to train teachers' abilities and skills in creating interactive media that are designed using applications. Interactive media creation training will be held at Yapis Merauke Middle School. The training activities will begin with an explanation of interactive media and the elements that must be contained in an interactive media, questions and answers during presentations, demonstrations by presenters related to the introduction of the Ispring application, then proceed with the practice of making interactive media using the Ispring application. With this training activity, teachers at Yapis Middle School have become more skilled in creating interactive media using the Ispring application to support an effective and interesting learning process

Abstract

This service aims to provide understanding and knowledge to teachers regarding the development of evaluation questions in the form of a Minimum Competency Assessment (AKM) in Merauke 8 Public Middle School. In this service activity carried out in several stages of activity including: Observation, Training and Assistance, Evaluation. The implementation of the activities carried out in two days of activities from 19 to 20 October 2022. Based on the results of the community service activities, positive responses were obtained from the training participants. This can be seen from the enthusiasm of the training participants where most of the participants took part in the activities from the initial stage to the final stage. In addition, this training can provide new knowledge and experience for trainees in developing AKM questions such as in determining stimulus, content, context, and cognitive level. The expectations of the training participants are that this training activity will continue with similar activities considering that most of the training participants have never received training, especially related to the National Assessment

Abstract

This training aims to provide understanding and motivation to the importance of integrated laboratory management. The participants in this training are teachers from SDN Kepuh Kiriman Sidoarjo. The training methods carried out are lectures, modeling, and workshops. Lectures are carried out by presenting material and workshops are carried out by means of assistance during group work. The result of the training activity was that teachers of SDN Kepuh Kiriman Sidoarjo gained knowledge about integrated laboratory management and how to implement this knowledge in schools so that the quality and quantity of laboratories in schools became better and more effective

Abstract

In this community service activity, the team provided seminars and training in making interactive and innovative online learning media to PPG Pre-Service Students in the Field of Economics Study Wave 1, University of Jember (UNEJ). In the method used, it starts from analyzing the situation and needs, then identifying problems, followed by determining goals, ending with a problem-solving plan. In the implementation of this activity, it was carried out twice, the first online meeting using google meet and the second meeting was training in the classroom meeting directly with students. Based on the results of the service that has been carried out, it can be concluded that 1) the participants who participated in this service event were limited to 15 of the PPG Pre-service students in the field of Economics Study Wave 1 of the University of Jember (UNEJ); 2) the students who took part in the training felt happy with this kind of activity, because the process was delivered not only online, but offline and hands-on practice; 3) in the hands-on session, students can discuss and ask questions about developing interactive and innovative online learning media

Abstract

English speaking training is a program designed to enhance the English speaking proficiency of the general public. The training focuses on themes that are relevant to daily activities, such as Daily Activity I, Daily Activity II, Talking About Your Hobbies, and Misconception English Language Education Paradigm in Indonesia. This program is deemed necessary to aid individuals in improving their English speaking abilities. The program is executed in several stages, commencing with the preparation stage, which encompasses scheduling, curating thematic material, participant recruitment, speaker outreach, and Microsoft Teams preparation. Subsequently, the implementation phase of the program ensues, featuring the delivery of thematic content and a discussion between participants and speakers, during which the former are encouraged to address any areas of the material that remain unclear
