DE_JOURNAL (Dharmas Education Journal) merupakan jurnal ilmiah yang diterbitkan oleh Fakultas Keguruan dan Ilmu Pendidikan Universitas Dharmas Indonesia, dan sebagai sarana publikasi hasil penelitian serta berbagi perkembangan ilmu tentang pendidikan. Jurnal ini memuat artikel yang belum pernah dipublikasikan sebelumnya yang berupa artikel hasil penelitian ataupun penelitian terapan, artikel telaah yang berkaitan dengan perkembangan ilmu pendidikan. Jurnal ini terbit 2 kali dalam setahun yaitu bulan Juni dan Desember. DE_JOURNAL merupakan jurnal ilmiah yang berisi tentang hasil penelitian, kajian mendalam, gagasan atau inovasi pada bidang ilmu pendidikan. Abstract

Based on the discussion review, it can be concluded that the results of this study are that there are differences in perception between teachers and Principals regarding the frequency of bullying incidents. The majority of teachers stated that bullying rarely occurs, while Principals identified that bullying often occurs. This difference indicates the need for relevant reading materials to improve understanding of bullying, both for students and teachers. Teachers agree that anti-bullying reading materials are very important in helping students understand the negative impacts of bullying and instilling anti-violence values. This study suggests the development of anti-bullying reading materials that are interesting, easy to understand, and supported by images in order to increase students' awareness and interest in understanding the issue of bullying. In addition to the research findings, best practices in this study include the following: Development of Interesting and Relevant Reading Materials, Involvement of Teachers in the Anti-Bullying Literacy Process, Use of Reading Materials as Discussion Tools, Combination with Guidance and Counseling Programs, Collaboration Between Schools and Parents, and Developing special guidelines containing practical steps in handling bullying cases at school.

Abstract

Pengembangan literasi sains merupakan fokus utama dalam upaya meningkatkan kualitas pendidikan di Indonesia, terutama terkait rendahnya hasil literasi sains siswa berdasarkan survei PISA. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan Lembar Kerja Mahasiswa (LKM) berbasis STEM guna meningkatkan literasi sains mahasiswa calon guru. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian dan pengembangan (R&D) model 4D: Define, Design, Develop, dan Disseminate. Pada tahap analisis kebutuhan, dilakukan identifikasi masalah, analisis kompetensi dasar, serta analisis konten yang relevan dengan pembelajaran literasi sains, khususnya materi gelombang bunyi. Subjek penelitian adalah mahasiswa calon guru yang terlibat dalam pengujian LKM. Hasil uji validitas menunjukkan bahwa LKM mendapatkan skor rata-rata 4,57, dengan validator 1 memberikan skor 4,70, validator 2 dengan nilai 4,80, dan validator 3 dengan nilai 4,20, yang dinyatakan valid. Setelah divalidasi, LKM dinyatakan layak digunakan dengan sedikit perbaikan. Secara keseluruhan, pengembangan LKM ini dinyatakan valid dan harapannya dapat meningkatkan literasi sains pada mahasiswa calon guru. Studi lanjutan dapat diujikan kepada mahasiswa untuk melihat pengaruh bahan ajar ini terhadap peningkatan literasi sains mereka sebagai calon guru, serta mengeksplorasi pengembangan LKM untuk materi lain di berbagai jenjang pendidikan.

Abstract

This study investigates the integration of chatbots into Learning Management Systems (LMS) to enhance educational experiences, addressing the challenge of student engagement and support in digital learning environments. Utilizing a Research and Development (R&D) approach, the study systematically developed and implemented a chatbot within the "Mesikola" LMS, analyzing data from surveys, interviews, and pilot testing to assess functionality, usability, and learning outcomes. The data revealed high user satisfaction with features such as real-time feedback and multilingual support, with 87% of students reporting improved engagement and 75% experiencing increased self-efficacy. Additionally, 68% of participants demonstrated enhanced academic performance, showing a 15% increase in quiz scores. These findings suggest that well-designed chatbots can significantly contribute to personalized learning and student motivation, providing essential support in educational contexts. The implications of this study underscore the potential for chatbots to transform learning experiences by fostering greater student autonomy and engagement, although further research is needed to refine their effectiveness in collaborative learning environments.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze educational planning and budgeting at Unggul Del High School. Using a qualitative approach, data was collected through in-depth interviews with school principals, direct observation of school activities, and analysis of documents related to the School Revenue and Expenditure Budget Plan (RAPBS). The research sample consisted of school principals, deputy principals, and teachers, who were selected based on their involvement in the planning and budgeting process. The results of the research show that educational planning and budgeting in the form of the Del Superior High School program went according to plan and was effective, focusing on: First; Curriculum Innovation successfully integrates the Independent Curriculum and the international Curriculum to create a flexible learning environment that meets international standards. Second, developing the competence of teachers and students through training and olympiads, showing significant academic achievements in learning outcomes and national to international olympiads. Third, strengthening the SPMI team through cadre of work teams, thus ensuring the quality of education is maintained. These findings confirm SMA Unggul Del’s commitment to providing high-quality education and supporting teachers and students to reach their full potential at a global level.

Abstract

    The purpose of this study is to find out the impact of using YouTube videos on the procedural writing skills of seventh grade students at SMP Swasta Teladan Pematangsiantar. This study focuses on the use of YouTube videos as a tool for students' writing on the topic “Making a Drink.” This study uses quantitative research with a quasi-experimental research design from Creswell. The population of this study consisted of seventh grade students of SMP Swasta Teladan Pematangsiantar, a total of 64 students. The sample of this study was divided into two groups, namely the experimental class (VII-A), consisting of 32 students who used YouTube video as a medium, and the control class (VII-B), consisting of 32 students who used only the teacher's explanation. Data were collected using writing tests for the pre-test and the final test. The researcher found that the mean of the pre-test was 52.6 in the experimental group and 56.2 in the control group. The mean of the final test in the experimental group was 75.8 and 72.1 in the control group. The t-value was determined to be 2.416, while the t-value based on degrees of freedom (df) was 1.670 for a significance level of 0.05. Since the t-value is greater than the t-value (2.416>1.671). Therefore, it can be concluded that YouTube videos have a significant impact on seventh-grade students' ability of SMP Swasta Teladan Pematangsiantar to write procedural texts.

Abstract

This research aims to examine the influence of parental support on the social development of early childhood at TK Negeri 01 Sungai Rumbai. Parental support is an important factor in developing children's social skills, such as interacting with peers, recognizing emotions, and resolving conflicts. Using descriptive qualitative methods, data was collected through observations of teachers at school and at home, interviews regarding parental assistance, and documentation with participants in the form of 25 parents, 3 teachers, and the school principal. The theory used was Erikson's theory of social development, involvement Epstein's parents, and Bandura's social learning theory. The research results show that intensive parental assistance has a positive impact on children's social interaction, adaptation and cooperation abilities in the school environment. Children who are actively accompanied by their parents have more developed social skills than children who receive less assistance. These findings reinforce the importance of parental involvement in early childhood education to support children's social development. Children who receive substantial help from parents show superior social skills compared to children who receive minimal support. These results show the important role of parents in actively helping young children to ensure optimal social growth with the highest score of 4.2 and a success rate of 84%

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to develop a concept of clinical supervision management as a guideline for schools. This study aims to develop a clinical supervision management model in superior schools using the "Best Evidence Synthesis" approach. Through field surveys, interviews and synthesis of various studies and best practices in schools, this study formulated an effective, efficient, and contextual clinical supervision model. The sample of this study was the Teachers and Vice Principals of SMA Unggul Del. The results of the study indicate that the implementation of clinical supervision at SMA Unggul Del faces several significant challenges, including experienced teachers who are reluctant to be supervised, lack of time in planning supervision, and frequent conflicts between the teaching schedules of supervising teachers and the supervision schedule. Many experienced teachers are reluctant to undergo the supervision process due to a lack of understanding of the purpose of clinical supervision, which is often considered a performance evaluation, not an opportunity for professional development. To overcome this, school management needs to conduct comprehensive socialization regarding the benefits of supervision, including through workshops involving all teachers. In addition, the busy teaching schedule and other responsibilities make it difficult for teachers and supervisors to find the right time to carry out supervision. Solutions to this problem include the preparation of a supervision schedule that is integrated with the teaching schedule and the formation of a supervisory assistant team of senior teachers and administrative staff to assist in planning. Frequent clashes between teaching schedules and supervision schedules are also a challenge; therefore, it is important for school management to create an integrative calendar that lists all activities, as well as allocates specific time for supervision. With this comprehensive approach, it is hoped that the implementation of clinical supervision can run more smoothly and have a positive impact on the quality of education at SMA Unggul Del.

Abstract

This study examines how third-grade students at Bali Bilingual School can improve global diversity values ​​by using local culture-based teaching materials. This study used a qualitative approach to collect data from classroom observations, interviews with teachers, and analysis of curriculum documents. Students who received local culture-based lessons had a better understanding of cultural diversity and were more tolerant. These teaching materials enriched students' insights into local culture and taught them to appreciate diversity around the world because they combined the various diversities that exist in Indonesia. According to this study, local culture-based education is an effective tool for building global diversity from an early age. The teaching materials themed on increasing the value of global diversity through local culture-based teaching materials in the third grade of Bali Bilingual School Elementary School have an optimal level of suitability. The evaluation results showed that students' post-test scores increased significantly. The average student score was 65% at the pre-test stage. After the local culture-based teaching materials and interactive learning methods were implemented, the average student score increased to 90% at the post-test stage. This 25% increase shows how effective the teaching materials are in increasing students' understanding and appreciation of global diversity.

Abstract

This research aims to develop interactive multimedia teaching materials with a differentiation approach to increase 5th grade students' learning interest in the Natural and Social Development Sciences (IPAS) subject of the Human Respiratory System. The research method used is Research and Development (R&D), with the ADDIE development model that considers diverse student learning styles. SISPERMA teaching materials were developed according to the needs of elementary schools which still lack the provision of interactive multimedia teaching materials. The instruments used include a learning interest questionnaire, observation sheets to assess student activity, interviews to obtain feedback from teachers and students, as well as documentation of learning processes and outcomes. Data collection techniques include observation, filling out questionnaires, interviews, and analysis of the results of documentation and implementation of teaching materials. The research results show that interactive multimedia teaching materials are effective in increasing students' interest in learning. The use of these teaching materials is significant in increasing students' interest in learning, with higher enthusiasm during learning. The differentiation approach allows students to learn according to their learning style, making the material more interesting and dynamic. This research concludes that teaching materials SISPERMA Differentiation-based is effective in improving the quality of science and science learning, especially regarding the respiratory system material for grade 5 elementary school students.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to identify the perceptions of teachers and students in understanding the concept of science and technology learning in class II of SD No. 5 Parks. This research uses a descriptive qualitative approach. The instrument used was an interview. The subjects of this research were teachers and students of class II with a randomly selected number of students purposive sampling namely students who experience learning difficulties out of 15 students. The research location is SD N 5 Taman. Data collection procedures in this research include semi-structured interviews with teachers and students. Data were analyzed using analysis: data reduction, data presentation, drawing conclusions, and data triangulation. The results of students' understanding of science lessons vary. Some students find science lessons interesting because of their connection to nature and everyday life, while others have difficulty understanding abstract concepts such as the water cycle, weather changes, and the nature of objects. This difficulty is often influenced by the use of complex scientific terms and explanations that proceed too quickly. Teachers admit that these concepts are difficult to understand without the help of visual tools or concrete demonstrations. While visual aids such as pictures, simple models, and videos can be helpful, their effectiveness depends on each student's learning style. Obstacles faced in teaching science and technology include limited facilities and infrastructure, inadequate time allocation, and variations in students' ability to understand the material. This research shows the need for more adaptive teaching strategies and the provision of adequate resources to improve students' understanding of science lessons.
