DE_JOURNAL (Dharmas Education Journal) merupakan jurnal ilmiah yang diterbitkan oleh Fakultas Keguruan dan Ilmu Pendidikan Universitas Dharmas Indonesia, dan sebagai sarana publikasi hasil penelitian serta berbagi perkembangan ilmu tentang pendidikan. Jurnal ini memuat artikel yang belum pernah dipublikasikan sebelumnya yang berupa artikel hasil penelitian ataupun penelitian terapan, artikel telaah yang berkaitan dengan perkembangan ilmu pendidikan. Jurnal ini terbit 2 kali dalam setahun yaitu bulan Juni dan Desember. DE_JOURNAL merupakan jurnal ilmiah yang berisi tentang hasil penelitian, kajian mendalam, gagasan atau inovasi pada bidang ilmu pendidikan. Gagasan yang berasal dari para peneliti yang berada pada sektor pendidikan diharapkan dapat memberikan kontribusi positif pada dunia pendidikan. Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memberikan analisis komparatif yang mendalam antara sistem pendidikan di Indonesia dan Malaysia melalui pendekatan studi literatur yang menyeluruh. Dengan mengumpulkan data dari berbagai sumber seperti buku, jurnal ilmiah, dan dokumen kebijakan, studi ini menyajikan pemahaman komprehensif mengenai perbedaan dan persamaan dalam berbagai aspek penting dari kedua sistem pendidikan. Fokus utama penelitian ini meliputi analisis pada beberapa elemen kunci: pertama, struktur sistem pendidikan di Indonesia dan Malaysia; kedua, tujuan utama pendidikan di masing-masing negara yang dipengaruhi oleh konteks sosial-budaya yang berbeda; ketiga, kebijakan kurikulum yang mencerminkan pendekatan pedagogis dan prioritas pembelajaran di kedua negara; keempat, kebijakan pendidikan yang diterapkan oleh pemerintah untuk mendukung pencapaian tujuan pendidikan nasional; dan kelima, evaluasi sistem pendidikan masing-masing negara berdasarkan efektivitas dalam mencapai standar pendidikan global. Melalui kajian komparatif ini, diharapkan dapat diperoleh wawasan yang lebih mendalam tentang bagaimana setiap negara membentuk sistem pendidikannya dalam menghadapi tantangan kontemporer, sekaligus memberikan rekomendasi kebijakan yang relevan bagi pengembangan pendidikan di kawasan Asia Tenggara.

Abstract

This study aims to describe smartphone usage behaviors among high school students in Tarutung City, and students' perceptions of the benefits of smartphones for learning. It is a quantitative study with a descriptive survey design. The research population consists of 3,604 students, and the sample size was determined using the Krejcie table, with 354 students selected at a 95% confidence level and a 5% margin of error. Stratified random sampling was used to select the sample. The results show that smartphones serve a dual role, functioning as a highly valuable learning aid and an alternative source of knowledge. However, smartphones also present challenges to students' social and psychological development, potentially fostering negative behaviors, such as decreased social interactions, weakened emotional connections, and increased risk of cyberbullying. Students perceive smartphones as having a positive potential to support learning. A limitation of this research is that it only included high school students, limiting its generalizability across all student smartphone users. Future research is recommended to include samples from all levels of education.

Abstract

Indonesia and Japan have the same focus on educational goals, which is to focus on cultivating character education starting from elementary school education. However, Indonesia is currently ranked 72nd out of 77 countries when compared to Japan. Indonesia's education system at the primary school level requires special treatment and greater attention. Comparing Indonesia with a country with the best education system like Japan, is a systemic step to create high-quality education. Students in Japan are taught moral and ethical education starting from the first 3 years of elementary school. Approaches, methods, assessments, activeness, and the use of technology are crucial for the success of elementary school education in Japan. The education system at the elementary school level provides great potential to be offered to Indonesia.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi seberapa efektif penggunaan LKPD berbantuan Quizizz dalam meningkatkan kualitas pembelajaran Bahasa Inggris di lingkungan SMK dan dapat mengetahui kelayakan penggunaan Quizizz sebagai media pembelajaran interaktif dalam membantu siswa menjawab soal dan memahami materi. dengan menggunakan metode campuran (Mixed Method) yang menggabungkan pendekatan kuantitatif dan kualitatif dalam satu penelitian. Metode metode campuran memungkinkan pengumpulan data yang lebih kaya dan analisis yang lebih mendalam, sehingga menghasilkan hasil yang komprehensif, valid, konsisten, dan objektif. Penelitian ini melibatkan siswa SMK N 4 Bangli yang terdiri dari 32 siswa kelas X Tata Boga II beserta wali kelasnya yang berperan sebagai informan pendukung untuk memberikan informasi tambahan. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode purposive sampling untuk pemilihan subjek. Metode pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah observasi, wawancara, dan tes. Hasil belajar siswa menunjukkan nilai rata-rata yang tinggi dan sebagian besar siswa memperoleh kategori Sangat Baik (85,4%) yang menunjukkan penguasaan materi yang optimal. Hasil observasi dan wawancara dengan peserta didik menunjukkan bahwa peserta didik lebih tertarik dan termotivasi dalam mengikuti pembelajaran dengan menggunakan Quizizz karena dinilai lebih menarik dan interaktif dibandingkan dengan metode tradisional.

Abstract

The focus of this research is how the implementation of school digitalization can improve the quality of learning at SD Negeri 02 Bumirejo and its supporting and inhibiting factors.  School digitization includes the use of information and communication technology in the education process, including the use of hardware and software.  This research methodology is descriptive qualitative and uses data collection techniques through observation, interviews and documentation. This methodology involves primary and secondary sources.  The results show that school digitalization has provided positive things to the quality of learning, such as increased motivation of students to learn, easy access to learning materials, and improved skills of both students and teachers. This research also identifies some obstacles, including limited technology infrastructure, lack of training for teachers, and limited internet access for some learners. Schools are expected to improve infrastructure, continuous training for teachers, and learners have adequate access to technology and the internet. Effective implementation of digitalization is expected to improve the quality of learning at SD Negeri 02 Bumirejo, Ulujami Sub-district, Pemalang Regency.

Abstract

Potential and Challenges of Learning in the Industrial Era 4.0 in the World of Education. The Industrial Era 4.0 presents various advanced technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI) and the Internet of Things (IoT) which are changing learning and teaching methods in the world of teaching. The aim of this research is a) to determine the Learning Potential in the Industrial Era 4.0 in the World of Education, b) to determine the Challenges of Learning in the Industrial Era 4.0 in the World of Education. This research uses a qualitative approach with a case study method. Interview Data Collection Techniques and Literature Study. Data analysis This research uses thematic analysis, namely: data collection, reading and understanding data, data interpretation and analysis, data verification and conclusions. The results of this research show that the majority of teachers feel the benefits of using artificial intelligence (AI) technology and digital learning platforms that allow adapting lesson material to individual student needs. Teachers report that they can provide real-time feedback based on data collected through Internet of Things (IoT) devices or learning applications. This helps students learn at their own pace and learning style, increasing engagement and retention of information. The results of this research indicate that limited technological infrastructure is the main obstacle in implementing learning technology. Teachers in rural areas or schools with limited resources revealed that they experienced difficulties in accessing digital devices and adequate internet connectivity. These limitations hinder efforts to implement technologies like AI, IoT effectively

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of education planning in primary school quality management. Educational planning is a strategic step that includes the process of preparing the vision, mission, goals and program implementation to improve the quality of education. In the context of primary schools, effective education planning can ensure the achievement of the set quality standards through the optimization of human resources, infrastructure and integrated management systems. This research used a qualitative method with a case study approach in several primary schools. The results show that structured, participatory and data-based education planning has a significant impact on improving school quality, both in terms of student academic achievement, teacher professionalism and stakeholder satisfaction. The implications of this research emphasize the importance of collaboration between principals, teachers, parents and communities in developing education planning that is oriented towards sustainable quality.

Abstract

One of the main problems in English learning for beginner learners is vocabulary acquisition. The ability to communicate and understand a language is often hampered by a limited vocabulary. Visual dictionaries, which display the meaning of learnt words through pictures, are a method that can accelerate vocabulary comprehension. This method is considered more efficient because the human brain more easily remembers information that is accompanied by images or visuals rather than just text. The purpose of this study is to find out how effective the use of visual dictionaries is in learning vocabulary for beginner learners. By analysing the results and pedagogical methods used, the researcher examined how visual dictionary representation can increase students' interest and success in vocabulary acquisition as well as improve word recognition, comprehension and retention. This study utilised the classroom action research method. The research findings showed pre-test data that 77% of students were able to understand the vocabulary and 67% of students were able to pronounce the vocabulary correctly. Overall, the students' vocabulary mastery ability during the pre-test was 72%. Post-test data showed that 80% of students were able to understand the vocabulary and 83% of students were able to pronounce the vocabulary correctly. Overall, the students' vocabulary mastery ability during the post-test was 81.5%. Based on the above facts, the researcher concluded that visual dictionaries can improve the vocabulary acquisition of beginner learners.

Abstract

Student sports achievements in schools they are affected by factors such as physical condition., technical skills, and training programs. Male volleyball athletes in the extracurricular program at Bengkulu City Vocational School face a significant challenge: low jump height, which affects their ability to perform smash and block techniques effectively. This issue is linked to insufficient specialized training, weak explosive power in leg muscles, and a lack of motivation during practice. The objective of this research is to assess the impact of knee tuck jump variation training on jump height among these athletes. The research employs an experimental method with a one-group pre-test and post-test design. From a population of 30 athletes, 23 were selected through purposive sampling. The vertical jump test was used as the primary instrument, and hypothesis testing was conducted for data analysis.Results show a significant improvement in jump height following the training. The calculated t-value (27.371) exceeded the critical t-value (1.712) at a significance level of α = 0.05, with a 19.47% increase in jump height. These findings confirm the hypothesis, indicating that knee tuck jump variation training effectively enhances jump height among the athletes.

Abstract

This research aims to improve gross motor skills through viral content (FYP) on the TikTok application for children aged 5-6 years at TK Pertiwi 42 Gayamsari. The research method used in this study is classroom action research (CAR) with a procedure of 2 cycles, each consisting of 2 meetings. The data collection techniques employed by the researcher include observation and documentation with the subjects being Group B, consisting of 23 children. The results of this classroom action research indicate that the use of viral content (FYP) from the Tik Tok application can improve the gross motor skills of children aged 5-6 years, with initial conditions reaching 43% with the description of Starting to Develop (MB) in the pre-cycle, reaching 62% in Cycle I with the description of Developing as Expected (BSH), and increasing to 84% in Cycle II with the description of Developing Very Well (BSB). Therefore, through this research, the utilization of viral content (FYP) from the Tik Tok application can enhance the gross motor skills of children aged 5-6 years at TK Pertiwi 42 Gayamsari because it can attract children's attention and enthusiasm in movement activities.
