Abstract

This research aims to improve forward roll learning outcomes through the implementation of an inclusive teaching style assisted by gadget-based self-assessment. Adopting the Kemmis and McTaggart model, this Classroom Action Research was conducted in two cycles involving 31 eighth-grade students (Class 8B) at SMPN 1 Tabalong. Data were collected through psychomotor skill observations, affective assessments, and structured self-assessment sheets completed via gadgets after the students independently evaluated their recorded movements across five task-card difficulty levels. The findings revealed a substantial improvement. In the pre-cycle stage, classical mastery was 0%, with an average psychomotor score of 36.7. Following the intervention in Cycle I, mastery increased to 67.7% with an average score of 74.5. By Cycle II, classical mastery reached 100% with an average psychomotor score of 85.4 and a maximum affective score of 100. Furthermore, the quality of instructional delivery by the teacher improved from the 'Good' to the 'Very Good' category. In conclusion, integrating an inclusive teaching style with gadget-assisted self-assessment effectively enhances students' forward roll learning outcomes within the specific context of this study.

Abstract

This study aimed to examine the effect of Single Leg Stance training on balance among obese students in the Physical Education Study Program at Universitas PGRI Adi Buana Surabaya. The focus of the study included static balance, measured using the Standing Stork Test, and dynamic balance, assessed using the Y Balance Test. The research employed a quantitative experimental method with a pre-test and post-test control group design. The participants were divided into two groups: an experimental group that received Single Leg Stance training for six weeks (12 sessions) and a control group that did not receive any specific treatment. Data were analyzed using a paired sample t-test with a significance level of 0.05. The results indicated that Single Leg Stance training had a significant effect on improving static balance in the experimental group, as shown by a significance value (Sig. 2-tailed) of 0.000 (< 0.05). However, the training did not demonstrate a significant effect on dynamic balance, with a significance value of 0.051 (> 0.05). Based on these findings, it can be concluded that Single Leg Stance training is more effective in improving static balance than dynamic balance among obese students.

Abstract

Obesity among university students is a growing health problem influenced by low physical activity and sedentary lifestyles. One indicator used to assess obesity is subcutaneous fat thickness. This study aimed to compare the effects of Circuit Bodyweight Training and jogging on the reduction of subcutaneous fat thickness in obese university students. The study employed a quantitative experimental method with a pre-test and post-test control group design. The participants were obese students from the Physical Education Study Program at Universitas PGRI Adi Buana Surabaya, who were divided into a Circuit Bodyweight Training group, a jogging group, and a control group. The intervention was conducted for six weeks with a frequency of two sessions per week. Subcutaneous fat thickness was measured using a skinfold caliper. Data were analyzed using statistical tests at a significance level of 0.05. The results indicated that both training methods contributed to a reduction in subcutaneous fat thickness; however, Circuit Bodyweight Training resulted in a more significant reduction compared to jogging. Therefore, Circuit Bodyweight Training can be recommended as a more effective exercise method for reducing subcutaneous fat thickness in obese university students

Abstract

The 7 Habits of Indonesian Children (7KAIH) program is a character education initiative designed to develop healthy, well-behaved, and competitive students through the habituation of positive daily behaviors. This study aims to synthesize the implementation of 7KAIH in elementary school Physical Education using a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) approach. This research applies the PRISMA framework and PICO model to determine inclusion and exclusion criteria. Literature was retrieved from Google Scholar covering the period 2016–2026. From an initial 30 identified articles, a systematic screening process including eligibility assessment and quality appraisal was conducted. The synthesis reveals six main themes: physical activity through the Indonesian Children’s Exercise (SAIH), character and religious value strengthening, innovative digital learning media, collaboration between teachers, parents, and schools, inclusive education through adaptive physical activities (Blind SAIH), and health literacy with school policy support. SAIH is identified as the most dominant implementation strategy. Overall, 7KAIH supports holistic physical education by integrating physical, cognitive, affective, social, and inclusive dimensions. This study contributes a synthesized conceptual model that integrates these themes to support instructional strategies, character education, and sustainable policy development in elementary schools.
