Abstract

Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF) remains a critical environmental health challenge in residential areas. West Java recorded Indonesia’s highest incidence from January to June 2025, reaching 17,281 cases. In Bogor City, 408 cases were reported (January–August 2025), a significant decrease from 2,817 cases during the same period in 2024. Cumulative 2024 data showed 3,094 cases and 16 deaths, following a fluctuating trend from 2021–2023 (526, 1,531, and 1,474 cases; 7, 9, and 9 deaths, respectively). This community service program in Villa Mutiara Bogor aimed to empower housewives through health education and natural lemongrass-based repellent production. Results showed a quantitative anomaly: the mean pre-test score (93.93) dropped to 40.71 in the post-test due to significant respondent attrition. Despite limited follow-up participation, the initiative successfully enhanced community awareness regarding environmental hygiene for sustainable DHF control.

Abstract

This community service program was motivated by the low leadership mindset and leadership skills among young people in business and marketing, who tend to remain passive followers. The objective of this program was to enhance participants’ understanding, skills, and leadership attitudes through the from follower to leader approach. The methods applied included community education, science and technology diffusion, experiential learning-based training, mediation, and mentoring implemented through socialization, simulation, and follow-up assistance. The results showed a 37.6% increase in participants’ understanding based on pre-test and post-test scores, along with behavioral changes toward being more proactive, confident, and capable of making decisions. In addition, communication and teamwork skills improved significantly. This program demonstrates that experiential learning is effective in developing youth leadership. Therefore, this model is important to be further developed to enhance competitiveness in business and marketing.

Abstract

Teachers need skills in understanding, designing, and implementing character-based learning that is aligned with the Merdeka Curriculum and the eight dimensions of the Pancasila Student Profile. This community service activity aimed to improve teachers’ competence in integrating character education through the Resilient School Program based on learning community collaboration. The activity was conducted offline for two weeks at SD Negeri Wonorejo 1, SD Negeri Wonorejo 2, and SD Negeri Wonorejo 4 in Malang City, involving 45 teachers as participants. The implementation method used a collaborative participatory approach through the stages of needs analysis, program planning, workshop implementation, evaluation, and follow-up. Data were collected through observation, pre-test and post-test, documentation, and reflective discussions, and were analyzed using descriptive quantitative and qualitative methods. The results showed an improvement in teachers’ competence across all indicators, including understanding the concept of character education, the ability to develop lesson plans or teaching modules integrated with character values, and the implementation of collaborative learning based on character education. The average increase in teachers’ competence reached 68.7%, which was categorized as high, with the highest improvement found in the collaborative learning implementation indicator at 76.1%. These findings indicate that teacher learning communities are effective as spaces for reflection, sharing best practices, and continuous professional development.

Abstract

This community service activity aims to describe the implementation of the distribution of the Huma Betang Sejahtera Card (KHBS) and the community response in Pasak Talawang District, Kapuas Regency. The KHBS program is a policy of the Central Kalimantan Provincial Government to improve community welfare through cash assistance, food assistance, and health and education services for beneficiaries. The activity was carried out through mentoring and socialization with data collection techniques in the form of observation and documentation. The activity stages include preparation, implementation, and monitoring. The results of the activity indicate that the distribution of KHBS went well through coordination between the local government, sub-district government, village government, volunteers, and the beneficiary community. The community gave a positive response because the program was considered to help meet basic needs and support the economic conditions of families, although there were still obstacles related to access to disbursement of assistance and the accuracy of targeting beneficiaries.
