ABDIRA (Journal of Community Service): Journal of Community Service contains the results of community service and empowerment activities in the form of application of various fields of science including health, education, engineering, agriculture, agriculture, social humanities, computers, entrepreneurship and economics. This journal is published regularly twice a year in April and October. The purpose of this journal is to disseminate ideas and results of the dedication and research conducted by universities that can be applied in society. Abstract

Community Service Program (KKN) is a form of student community service as part of the implementation of Universitas Tangerang Raya. The development of digital technology brings both opportunities and challenges to early childhood parenting. The KKN, as a forum for student service, has the potential to help families and PAUD/TK institutions build parenting patterns that are conducive to child development in the digital era. KKN activities at Bani Qiroat Islamic Kindergarten include mentoring parents on children's digital literacy, teacher training on integrating age-appropriate technology-based educational games, and a workshop on setting limits on device use (screen time). This report presents the approach, implementation, qualitative findings, and recommendations for parenting practices that are responsive to digital challenges. The results of the evaluation of the practices indicate an increase in parents' and teachers' understanding of parenting principles that support children's cognitive, emotional, and social development in the digital era.

Abstract

Learning in high schools requires innovation to optimally improve students' literacy skills. However, many teachers still do not utilize creative literacy media in the learning process, resulting in less interactive learning activities and less encouragement of active student participation. Therefore, this community service activity aims to provide guidance on the use of creative literacy media for teachers at SMA Muhammadiyah 1 Pare. The implementation method is carried out through material delivery, training, practice using literacy media, and assistance in designing learning media. The activity is carried out in the form of workshops and interactive discussions so that participants can understand the concepts and practices directly. The results of the activity indicate that teachers gain a better understanding of the use of creative literacy media and are able to develop learning media that are more varied, interesting, and encourage active student participation in the learning process.

Abstract

Stunting remains a public health problem that requires the involvement of various parties, including Posyandu cadres as the spearhead of health services in the community. This community service activity aims to enhance the role of Posyandu cadres in stunting prevention efforts through training and mentoring. The activity was carried out on May 18–19, 2026, in Selomartani and Purwomartani Villages, Kalasan District, involving 24 Posyandu cadre leaders. The methods used included coordination with policymakers, training on Parent Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT), responsive feeding, safe herbal use, and practice in making local food-based Supplementary Feeding (PMT). Evaluation was conducted through in-depth interviews before and after the training. The results showed an increase in cadres' understanding of their role as educators, motivators, and family companions, as well as an increase in their ability to provide education and solutions related to stunting prevention. The training and hands-on practice effectively strengthened cadres' capacity to support stunting prevention efforts in the community.

Abstract

Household organic waste in Gampong Pasie Aceh Baro has not been optimally utilized, potentially increasing the environmental burden and community dependence on chemical fertilizers. This community service initiative focuses on enhancing the knowledge and skills of the Women Farmers Group, "Wanita Berusaha," in processing local materials into liquid organic fertilizer (LOF) to support sustainable agricultural practices. The method employed involved socialization, including material presentation, hands-on fertilizer production, fermentation monitoring, and outcome evaluation, involving 22 participants. The evaluation showed a 100% improvement in soft skills, including knowledge of the materials and procedures for LOF production, active participation in the activities, and environmental awareness that supports sustainable agricultural practices. Furthermore, there is a potential for increased economic value through reduced expenditure on chemical fertilizers and the utilization of household waste. This activity underscores the importance of rural community empowerment in managing local resources as a fundamental step toward sustainable agriculture.

Abstract

This community service activity aims to address the technical difficulties faced by teachers in using the Merdeka Mengajar Platform (PMM), particularly in understanding the planning features of the Work Plan (RHK), implementing PMM-based learning, and uploading performance achievement documents. This activity is also focused on enhancing teachers' abilities to independently and systematically prepare, implement, and document the Work Plan Results (RHK). The mentoring was conducted for 15 teachers from SDN Buraen 1 Amarasi Selatan, Kupang Regency, East Nusa Tenggara, using an intensive training and mentoring method throughout the odd semester of the 2024/2025 academic year. The results of the activity show that 100% of the teachers successfully completed all RHK assignments in PMM with good and very good ratings. The sustainability of this activity is realised through the formation of an online learning community among teachers so that schools can continue to optimally utilise PMM for the improvement of learning quality in the future.

Abstract

This Community Service activity aims to empower the community of Tanjung Qencono Village through entrepreneurship training based on creative bouquet products. The background to this activity is the low level of entrepreneurial skills, human resource utilization, and management and marketing capabilities of village businesses. The implementation method includes preparation, entrepreneurship training and creative bouquet production, business management and digital marketing mentoring, business group formation, and evaluation. The training was conducted in a participatory manner with hands-on practice so that participants are able to produce marketable and competitive creative bouquet products. The results of the activity demonstrated an increase in participants' technical skills in creative bouquet production, simple financial record keeping, and the use of social media as a marketing tool. Furthermore, several creative business groups were formed that actively collaborate and demonstrate a high motivation for entrepreneurship. This activity has had a positive impact on increasing the community's economic independence and opening up sustainable creative business opportunities based on local potential.

Abstract

This community service program aimed to improve the pedagogical competence and technical skills of early childhood education (ECE) teachers in Bajeng District, Gowa Regency, Sulawesi Selatan through training in developing “Flip-Panel Early Numeracy” learning media. The main challenge was the limited availability of systematic manipulative media for teaching concrete addition. The program involved 20 teachers and was conducted through a hands-on workshop, including concept reinforcement, demonstration, and guided practice in designing and assembling the media. Evaluation using pre-test and post-test showed a significant improvement, with average scores increasing from 43.8 to 86.0. The activity also resulted in the production of ready-to-use instructional media. The findings indicate that hands-on training effectively enhances teachers’ competence and promotes independence in developing learning tools. This initiative supports the implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum and contributes to achieving SDG 4 on quality education.

Abstract

This community service activity aims to help the Eva-Evi Convection MSME improve its financial management capabilities through the implementation of a spreadsheet-based financial dashboard. The main problems faced by partners are manual, unstructured financial records, and the mixing of business and personal finances, making it difficult to monitor business conditions. The method used is a needs-based participatory approach through the stages of problem identification, designing a Google Sheets-based financial dashboard, training in spreadsheet usage, implementation assistance, and monitoring and evaluation. The results of the activity show that partners are able to understand the basic concepts of financial management, record transactions more systematically, and utilize the dashboard to integrate income, expenses, and business profits. The implementation of this dashboard is considered effective in supporting more appropriate business decision-making and has the potential to become a simple digitalization model for other MSMEs.

Abstract

Islamic spiritual guidance is a form of spiritual service provided to hospitalized patients to support their psychological and spiritual needs during treatment. This activity was conducted at RSUD Jati Padang through prayer, motivation, spiritual assistance, and mental reinforcement for patients. The purpose of this activity was to improve inner peace, recovery motivation, and patients’ attitudes of patience and trust in Allah while facing illness. The methods used were direct observation and spiritual assistance during the treatment process. The results showed that Islamic spiritual guidance had a positive impact on patients’ psychological conditions, including reduced anxiety, increased inner peace, stronger motivation to recover, and improved quality of worship. In addition, patients’ families also benefited from emotional support and a greater sense of calm while accompanying their relatives. Therefore, Islamic spiritual guidance plays an important role in supporting patients’ holistic healing process.

Abstract

Aging in the elderly is often accompanied by cognitive decline that can progress to dementia, requiring non-pharmacological interventions such as brain gym. This activity aimed to improve cognitive function among the elderly through structured brain gym at Posbindu RT 03, Anjir Serapat Muara 1, using a participatory approach combining health education with practice assistance for 30 elderly participants. Activities included health screenings, pre-tests, educational material, demonstrations, and a 15-minute brain gym practice, with cognitive function measured using MMSE and analyzed using the Paired Samples T-Test. Before the intervention, 15 respondents (50%) had mild and 15 (50%) severe impairment; afterward, 6 (20%) achieved normal function, 19 (63.3%) mild impairment, and only 5 (16.7%) remained severe, since rhythmic movements in brain gym trigger cerebral circulation and oxygenation, optimizing motor coordination and cognition. Thus, brain gym significantly improved cognitive function among elderly with dementia at the service location (p = 0.000 0.05).
