Abstract

This study aimed to measure the effectiveness of  problem based learning design study on the motivation skills, of inquiry and scientific argumentation skills. This is the type of study design non-equivalent control group design in class VII SMPN 1 Grogol Kediri on 12 up to 23 May 2015 on  the material changes and  environmental pollutan. Used some of the instruments to support research that motivation  questionnaire and inquiry skill rubric (process and product).  And rubric scientific argumentation skills are integrated in the cognitive achievement tes. Data tabulated later in the analysis using the program SPSS 16 for windows 2007. The study is showed that: 1) students motivation treatment group (80%) higher than the control group (70%); 2) inquiry skills of the control group with the treatment process is the same (α= 0,181>0,05) but the product of inquiry skills between the two group differed (α= 0,01<0,05); 3) ANACOVA test study showed that the skills of scientific argument between the treatment group and the control group is different (α=0,000<0,05). Concluded that the model of problem-based learning can increase learning motivation, skills of inquiry, the ability of the scientific arguments..Keywords: PBL, motivation to learn, skills of inquiry, scientific argumentation skills

Abstract

ABSTRAKPenelitian tentang penggunaan internet sebagai sumber informasi terbaru dan aktual untuk meningkatkan minat belajar mahasiswa dalam perkuliahan kimia unsur telah dilakukan. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk 1). Mengetahui penilaian mahasiswa terhadap kinerja dosen saat memberikan kuliah kimia unsur 2). Mengetahui tanggapan mahasiswa terhadap pemberian materi materi aktual dari internet yang berupa artikel-artikel tentang aplikasi unsur dan senyawa dalam perkuliahan kimia unsur. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan cara pemberian kuisioner kepada mahasiswa di akhir perkuliahan kimia unsur. Data penelitian dianalisis secara deskriptif kualitatif. Kesimpulan dalam penelitian ini adalah 1) Menurut penilaian mahasiswa, dosen pengampu mata kuliah kimia unsur telah mempunyai kinerja yang cukup baik dalam melaksanakan perkuliahan kimia unsur. 2). Lebih dari 50% mahasiswa setuju jika dalam perkuliahan kimia unsur diberikan materi-materi aktual dari internet untuk me-mutakhir-kan pengetahuan mereka tentang aplikasi unsur dan senyawanya.Kata kunci : internet, minat belajar, kimia unsur.

Abstract

Usaha untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa merupakan salah satu tugas dan tanggung jawab seorang guru atau tenaga pendidikan yang profesional. Berbagai upaya pendekatan dalam pembelajaran di kelas telah dilakukan, namun sampai saat  ini belum mendapatkan hasil yang memuaskan. Seorang guru penting untuk menciptakan paradigma baru untuk menghasilkan praktik terbaik dalam proses pembelajaran (Carolin Rekar Munro, 2005). Oleh karena itu, ketika terjadi perubahan kurikulum dan terjadi pergeseran tuntutan hasil pendidikan yang berkaitan dengan tuntutan pasar kerja, maka gurulah yang harus berperan mewujudkan harapan itu. Guru harus selalu mengembangkan diri, baik yang berkaitan dengan kompetensi bidang studi maupun paedagogik. Para ahli menyarankan penggunaan paradigma pembelajaran konstruktif untuk kegiatan belajar mengajar di kelas. Dengan perubahan paradigma belajar konvensional  yang berpusat pada guru (teacher center) menjadi belajar yang berpusat pada siswa (student center). Hal ini bisa ditafsirkan bahwa guru di kelas harus berupaya menciptakan kondisi lingkungan belajar yang dapat membelajarkan siswa, dapat mendorong siswa belajar, atau memberi kesempatan kepada siswa untuk aktif mengkonstrasikan konsep-konsep yang dipelajarinya. Suasanan pembelajaran ini bisa dikembangkan dengan menggunakan pembelajaran berbasis masalah. Pembelajaran berbasis masalah  (problem based learning)  merupakan salah satu model pembelajaran inovatif yang dapat memberikan kondisi belajar aktif siswa. Menurut Arends (2004: 391) Problem Based Learning (Pembelajaran Berbasis Masalah) merupakan pembelajaran yang menghadapkan siswa dengan masalah nyata dan bermakna yang dapat menuntun siswa dalam penyelidikan dan inkuiri. Konsep mata pembelajaran biologi tingkat SMA  sangat dominan jika model pembelajaran yang diterapkan adalah pembelajaran berbasis masalah, sehingga model pembelajaran konvensional yang berbasis pada guru berubah menjadi  students center. Pembelajaran berbasis masalah ditekankan pada 3 asep yang pertama Inkuiry dan keterampilan melakukan pemacahan masalah. Kedua : Belajar model peraturan orang dewasa  (adult role behaviors), dan ketiga :Keterampilan belajar mandiri  (skill for independent learning). Dengan demikian maka proses pembelajaran akan berjalan sangat menyenangkan dan ini sangat dominan hasil belajar mata belajar biologi pada SMA akan meningkat.  Keyword : Model Pembelajaran Berbasis Masalah, Belajar Biologi

Abstract

Penyelenggaraan pendidikan tinggi yang berkualitas merupakan dambaan bagi banyak pihak, baik pemerintah, penyelenggara, maupun pengguna. Terlebih lagi apabila pendidikan tinggi yang berkualitas tersebut dapat diakses oleh masyarakat dengan mudah. Untuk kebutuhan tersebut, pembukaan program studi baru yang sesuai dengan kebutuhan stakeholders dan diselenggarakan dengan penjaminan kualitas yang baik merupakan salah satu mekanisme perluasan akses yang diharapkan. Adanya tuntutan-tuntutan tersebut, maka pada tahun 2001 terbit Surat Keputusan  Mendiknas  nomor 184/U/2001 tentang Pedoman Pengawasan–Pengendalian dan Pembinaan Program Diploma, Sarjana dan Pascasarjana di Perguruan Tinggi.Program Studi adalah penyelenggara pendidikan akademik dan/atau profesional yang diselenggarakan atas dasar suatu kurikulum serta ditujukan agar mahasiswa dapat menguasai pengetahuan, keterampilan & sikap yang sesuai dengan sasaran kurikulum. Program Studi mempunyai tugas melaksanakan pendidikan akademik dan/atau profesional dalam sebagian atau satu cabang ilmu pengetahuan tertentu.

Abstract

Enzim Cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2) bertanggung jawab terhadap proses inflamasi dan rasa nyeri. Pemberian senyawa Ibuprofen (IBP) dapat berperan sebagai inhibitor cyclooxygenase-2 yang menghambat aktifitas enzim COX-2 dalam mensintesis prostaglandin yang merespon rasa nyeri dan proses inflamasi. Tujuan dalam penelitian ini untuk mengetahui interaksi antara ibuprofen dengan protein Cyclooxygenases secara komputasi. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelian ini molecular dinamyc simulation (MD) untuk membuat reaksi kimia secara virtual. Hasil RMSD kompleks IBP dengan COX-2 adalah ~0,76 hingga ~2,37Å, Hasil RMSF menunjukkan COX-2 tingkat fleksibilitas yang tinggi. Jumlah ikatan Hidrogen intramolekuler berkisar 0 hingga 2 dan ikatan hidrogen intermolecular berada pada ARG12@O2, ARG12@O1, ARG438@O1. Interaksi antara Ibuprofen dengan Cyclooxygenase-2 menunjukkan terbentuknya ikatan Hidrogen dan membentuk kompleks protein.

Abstract

This study aimed to describe the activities of teachers and students as well as the student’s biology learning outcomes using the cooperative learning model  TSTS type (two stay two stray). This type of research is a classroom action research (CAR), which was conducted in two cycles. Each cycle consists of the planning, implementation observation , and reflection. Research subjects are biology teachers and students of SMP Negeri 22 Kota Bengkulu Class VIIIB. Instruments used are observation sheets to determine the activities of teachers and students, as well as sheets and worksheets test to determine learning outcomes. Data were analyzed by calculating the results of observations the average value and determine the range of each criterion. Learning outcomes data werw analyzed by calculating the value of the average gread and the percentage of mastery learning classical. The results of the analysis of observational data teacher activity cycle, obtained an average score of 39 (good) and in the second cycle to 41 (excellent). For student activity, the average score on the first cycle is 37.5 (good) and in the second cycle to 41 (excellent). First cycle average grade is 77.7 with a percentage of 80.95% completeness (completed) and the second cycle average value being 79.9 class with 85.71% percentage of completeness (completed). Concluded the activitas of teachers and students is improving well and the results obtained by studying biolgy have achieved mastery learning through the application of the classical cooperative TSTS type in class VIIIB SMP Negeri 22 Kota Bengkulu. Keywords : Cooperative Two Stay Two Stray (TSTS), Learnin activities, outcomes learning

Abstract

This problem arises because of the low creative thinking in students in the course of Applied Biology food sector to produce innovative food, thereby solving the problem is to apply the learning model SFAE (Student Facilitator and Explaining) so that students are able to explore innovative ideas of stimulus explanations fellow students, because their subjects Applied Biology aims to make students able to apply the knowledge acquired during college biology. Formulation of the problem in this research is how the learning model SFAE (Student Facilitator and Explaining) can enhance students' creativity. This study aims to improve the creativity of the students so that they can provide innovative ideas and useful. This study with subjects younger students in 2012 academic year 2015/2016 odd semester to the University of PGRI Ronggolawe Tuban with the number of 30 people. The method used is descriptive explorative, which describes the state of the student after learning model application SFAE (Student Facilitator and Explaining). Instruments penggumpulan the data include observations made to determine how many students are able to produce a food product. Abstract

Biology Learning can not be separated from the lab. Practicum is one of the method of Biology learning which gives opportunity for students to experience themselves, follow a process, observe an object, analyze, prove, and draw their own conclusions about a certain object, situation, or process. This study aims to analyze the suitability of Biology laboratory in SMA Muhammadiyah in Surakarta with Permendiknas Nomor 24 Tahun 2007 about Education Facilities and Infrastructure Standards. The laboratory observed was the Biology laboratory at SMA Muhammadiyah 1, 2, and 3 Surakarta. The research was conducted in September 2017 until January 2018. Data in the form of laboratory observation result obtained by observation, documentation, and interview. The results showed that in general, the quality of Biology laboratory in SMA Muhammadiyah in Surakarta was in good category with average percentage of 78.17%. Aspects observed include laboratory space, laboratory furniture, educational equipment, experimental tools and materials, educational media, consumables, other equipment, and laboratory managers.

Abstract

Biochar is a biological charcoal derived from incomplete combustion (pyrolysis) of agricultural residualmaterials that can increase carbon sustainably, retention of water and nutrients in soil. This research aimed todemonstrate the effect of adding biochar on inceptisol for Kemloko tobacco cultivation in Temanggung, CentralJava, Indonesia. The data analysis of this research was using Factorial Random Design with two factors(treatment and dose). The results showed that the addition of biochar + compost increase productivity of 491.6kg/ha comparing to the control with the higher tobacco quality. Chemical analysis of the respected soil showedthat the biochar + compost treatment increase pH level up to 5.46 with the organic matter level and total nitrogenas well increased about 2.66% and 0.180% respectively.

Abstract

Abstract- A total of six bacteria isolated from waste of oil sludge in the area of East Kalimantan were examined to confirm the ability in biosurfactant activity. The active compounds from each bacteria were subjected to screening test of biosurfactant by usingcanola oil as substratein fermentation system. The present study aims to evaluatedthe initial potency ofbiosurfactant producing bacteria from sludge oil in East Kalimantan. All of the isolates were confirmed as producers of biosurfactants with diverse of emulsification activity. Strain SMF4 showed the highest emulsification activity and oil displacement test within 9 days of cultivation.The screening results revealed that the six strains of sludge oil bacteria gave good values in emulsification and oil displacement activity. Keywords: oil sludge, six bacteria, emulsification, and biosurfactant
