Abstract

This research aims to analyze the situation of the influence of knowledge, attitudes, actions and motivation on the discovery of new TB cases in the West Pasaman Regency area in 2023 with a focus on efforts to improve officer performance, through training and active participation of officers. Based on the 2021 Global TB Report, it is estimated that there are 824,000 TB cases in Indonesia, but only 393,323 (48%) TB patients were found, treated and reported to the national information system. There are still around 52% of TB cases that have not been found or have been found but have not been reported. In 2022, data as of September for TB discovery and treatment coverage will be 39% (1 year TC target 90%) and TB treatment success rate will be 74% (SR target 90%). Based on the 2022 Health Profile, West Sumatra Province is in 13th place based on the notification rate of all tuberculosis cases per 100,000. This research uses quantitative methods to explore the influence of knowledge, attitudes, actions and motivation on the discovery of new TB cases, based on the latest data which shows the achievement of low cases far below target. In fact, according to data, the number of TB officers available and distributed throughout health facilities in West Pasaman Regency is 82 people. Therefore, it is necessary to follow up regarding the performance of TB officers in discovering new cases. The research results show that knowledge and action influence the discovery of new cases in the West Pasaman Regency area in 2023. Meanwhile, attitudes and motivation have no influence on case discovery.

Abstract

Stunting in childhood has a negative impact, namely inhibiting growth, cognitive and motor development, thereby creating a risk of metabolic disorders in adulthood. One of the factors guaranteeing family food security that researchers need to study is that Belok and Pelaga villages are agricultural areas that should produce abundant food. To date, no research has been conducted regarding the factors that influence stunting in the Petang II Community Health Center working area, Badung Regency. The factors looked for include history of LBW, immunization status, exclusive breastfeeding, history of infectious diseases, mother's education level and family food security. This research is a quantitative analytical research with a case control design. This study used a sample of 31 stunted toddlers as the case group, and 31 well-nourished toddlers as the control group with a ratio of 1:1. The results showed that the variables of maternal education level (p=0.001) and family food security (p=0.000) were significant in the incidence of stunting, while the variables of history of LBW (p=0.394), immunization status (p=0.078), exclusive breastfeeding (p= 0.088), history of infectious disease (p=0.158) was not significant in the incidence of stunting.

Abstract

The quality of healthcare services is crucial for improving public health, with Human Resource Management (HRM) playing a vital role. HRM involves managing individuals and teams within an organization to ensure optimal performance and alignment with organizational goals, encompassing recruitment, training, development, evaluation, and compensation. This literature review aims to enhance understanding of HRM's role in improving healthcare service quality, identify influencing factors, and offer recommendations to overcome obstacles in HRM. A qualitative research approach was employed to analyze and synthesize existing literature on HRM in healthcare services. Thematic analysis identified recurring themes in articles, papers, and books. We conducted a thorough search of databases and books, using relevant keywords to ensure comprehensive coverage. Effective HRM in healthcare includes the recruitment, training, development, and retention of healthcare professionals. Supportive work environments and strong managerial backing significantly enhance motivation and performance, ultimately improving patient care quality. However, many developing countries face HRM challenges, including workforce shortages, uneven distribution of healthcare professionals, and insufficient training opportunities. Additional issues involve inadequate training programs, bureaucratic obstacles, and administrative inefficiencies. Addressing these challenges through comprehensive HRM strategies can significantly improve healthcare delivery and workforce management. This literature review underscores the pivotal role of HRM in enhancing healthcare service quality. Through strategic recruitment, training, development, and retention of healthcare professionals, HRM fosters supportive work environments and managerial support, essential for enhancing healthcare worker motivation and performance, ultimately benefiting patient care. To address persistent challenges, tailored HRM strategies must adapt to environmental changes and prioritize ongoing training programs, administrative streamlining, and equitable workforce distribution policies. Understanding HRM's roles and challenges is essential for developing effective strategies to ensure a competent and motivated healthcare workforce, thereby continuously enhancing healthcare service quality.

Abstract

The prevalence of stunted toddlers in Seruyan Regency based on the 2022 nutritional status survey is 34.7%, this shows an increase of 5.4% when compared to the prevalence of stunted toddlers in 2021 of 29.3%. Empowering posyandu cadres in reducing stunting rates is an activity carried out with the aim of enabling posyandu cadres to be empowered and able to reduce stunting rates in Seruyan Regency, thereby reducing the percentage of stunting in Seruyan Regency. This research aims to determine and analyze the empowerment of posyandu cadres in reducing stunting rates in Seruyan Regency. This research is qualitative research by collecting observation, interview and documentation data. The informants who were interview subjects were 8 people, including: 2 heads of the Community Health Center, 1 nutrition officer at the Community Health Center, 1 health promotion officer at the Community Health Center, 2 Posyandu cadres, 2 mothers with toddlers. These informants were taken using a purposive sampling method, namely selecting informants who understand and are involved in reducing stunting. Data analysis in this research uses stages of data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results of the research show that the empowerment of Posyandu cadres in reducing the stunting rate in Seruyan Regency is because assistance to cadres in Posyandu activities is not always accompanied by Puskesmas nutrition officers and there is still a lack of understanding of cadres regarding the activities in Posyandu because cadres are only focused on one activity when serving mothers of toddlers. who came to Posnyandu. Suggestions to the Health Service to be able to add nutrition officers at the Community Health Center, so that every Posyandu activity can always be accompanied by a nutrition officer who is able to provide an understanding of nutrition to mothers who have toddlers, especially toddlers who are stunted. Apart from that, Posyandu cadres can rotate the tasks at each Posyandu, so they can understand the tasks at Posnyandu in order to reduce stunting rates.

Abstract

Varicella is an infectious disease caused by the varicella-zoster virus (VVZ). This viral infection affects the mucosa and skin. Varicella virus is spread mainly through the respiratory route and less commonly through direct contact with the lesions. Diagnosis of varicella can be made clinically through careful history taking and physical examination. WHO recommends general vaccination in places where chickenpox is still a public health problem. In Indonesia, varicella vaccine is still an optional immunisation group, not yet a mandatory immunisation programme by the government. . In some cases, people who have had the varicella vaccine may experience chickenpox again after direct contact with a person with chickenpox or direct infection with the varicella-zoster virus. However, people who have had the varicella vaccine tend to experience milder symptoms than people who have not had the vaccine. .

Abstract

Hypertension is an abnormal increase in blood pressure. This occurs when arterioles contract. Arteriolar contraction makes blood flow difficult and increases pressure against the artery walls. Single garlic contains compounds such as allicin and hydrogen sulfide, which effectively break down blood clots in the arteries, thereby reducing blood pressure. This study aims to analyze the effect of boiled garlic water on lowering blood pressure in hypertensive patients in the RT 04 RW 04 Pakansari Village area. The research design uses a quasi-experimental method with a Non-randomized pretest and posttest without a control design. The sample size in this study is 24 respondents. The sampling technique used is purposive sampling. The instruments in this study are 4 grams of single garlic, 250 ml of warm water, a blender, a Sphygmomanometer, and a stethoscope. The statistical test used is paired T-test with the research results showing a significant effect on lowering blood pressure in hypertensive patients after being given boiled single garlic water with a p-value of 0.000. This indicates the influence of boiled garlic water on lowering blood pressure in hypertensive patients, and it is hoped that in the future, the results of this study can be used as one of the non-pharmacological therapies for grade I and grade II hypertensive patients.
