Abstract

The decline in outpatient visits is a major challenge for regional hospitals amidst increasing competition in healthcare services. This study aims to analyze the implementation of the 7P marketing mix (Product, Price, Place, Promotion, People, Process, and Physical Evidence) in increasing outpatient visits at Mayjen HM Ryacudu Regional General Hospital in Kotabumi, Lampung. The study used a qualitative approach with a case study method. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with management, medical personnel, and patients, which were then validated through source triangulation, field observation, and documentation. Then, they were analyzed using data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing techniques. The results show that price and place elements are the hospital's main strengths due to affordable rates and strategic location. However, limited pricing flexibility due to government regulations limits the function of price as a differentiation tool. People and process elements play a significant role in shaping patient perceptions of service quality, while promotion has not been optimally utilized. A SWOT analysis places the hospital in a position that requires aggressive market penetration through service digitalization and physical facility modernization to restore public trust and increase visits by BPJS and general patients. This study emphasizes the importance of integrating all elements of the 7P marketing mix synergistically to increase patient interest in visiting regional hospitals.

Abstract

The practice of abortion, particularly that resulting from rape, is a complex legal, health, and human rights issue in Indonesia and Thailand. Female victims of rape often experience unwanted pregnancies, which can have serious physical, psychological, and social consequences, potentially leading to illegal abortions that endanger lives. This study aims to analyze and compare the Indonesian and Thai criminal justice systems in handling abortions resulting from rape, with an emphasis on legal protection for female victims of sexual violence. The method used is a normative juridical approach with a comparative legal study, through analysis of legislation, court decisions, empirical data, and international reports. The results of the study indicate that Indonesia still applies a dualistic approach between the criminalization of abortion and limited exceptions under the Health Law, which in practice creates legal uncertainty and has the potential to lead to re-victimization of victims. In contrast, Thailand applies a more progressive approach by separating abortion as a health issue and rape as a criminal offense, and positions women as victims in need of protection and recovery, rather than as subjects of punishment. This comparison indicates that the Thai legal system is more responsive to the protection of women's reproductive rights and the prevention of re-victimization. Therefore, legal reform and harmonization are needed in Indonesia so that the handling of abortions resulting from rape is more oriented towards justice, victim protection, and women's reproductive health.

Abstract

The application of extraterritorial non-tariff barriers within the international trade framework, such as the European Union Deforestation Regulation (EUDR), gives rise to jurisdictional conflicts regarding the principle of permanent sovereignty over the natural resources of developing countries. Such unilateral policies have implications for the vulnerability of the protection of the constitutional rights of Indigenous Peoples (IP) within the governance of commodity supply chains at the domestic level. This study aims to analyse the alignment of a state’s economic sovereignty with global environmental standards through the fulfilment of IP customary rights. Using a normative legal research method with legislative, conceptual, and policy analysis approaches, this study finds that legal mitigation of international market regulations is inadequate if it relies solely on a formal compliance approach within the Indonesian Sustainable Palm Oil (ISPO) instrument and the National Dashboard system. Legal loopholes resulting from procedural obstacles to establishing MHA status in regions risk legalising land tenure that is legally flawed for the sake of meeting certification requirements. Harmonisation of the legal system requires the enactment of specific legislation (lex specialis) on MHA, the establishment of Free, Prior and Informed Consent (FPIC) as an absolute prerequisite for business licensing, and the integration of indigenous territory mapping into the national geospatial database. This legal framework serves as a guarantee of domestic rights certainty whilst also functioning as a legitimate strategic diplomatic instrument in countering environmental protection justifications used as barriers to global trade.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of work-life balance and job satisfaction on the retention of healthcare workers in Hospital X. The research adopts a quantitative approach with a descriptive and explanatory design. The population consists of healthcare workers, including doctors, nurses, and medical staff, while the sample is selected using a simple random sampling technique. Data were collected through a structured questionnaire measured using a Likert scale. The data analysis techniques include validity and reliability tests, classical assumption tests (normality, multicollinearity, and autocorrelation), multiple linear regression analysis, correlation analysis, coefficient of determination (R²), as well as hypothesis testing using t-test and F-test. The results show that work-life balance has a positive and significant effect on employee retention, and job satisfaction also has a positive and significant effect on employee retention. Simultaneously, both variables significantly influence employee retention. The coefficient of determination indicates that work-life balance and job satisfaction contribute significantly to explaining employee retention, while the remaining variation is influenced by other factors not examined in this study. In conclusion, improving work-life balance and job satisfaction is essential for enhancing the retention of healthcare workers. Hospitals are therefore encouraged to implement supportive policies and create a positive work environment to maintain a stable and committed workforce, ultimately improving the quality of healthcare services.

Abstract

The implementation of Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems has transformed healthcare services, yet user satisfaction remains a critical factor for successful adoption. This study aims to systematically analyze the effects of system accuracy and ease of use on user satisfaction at Hospital X. A quantitative explanatory approach was employed, with data collected from 100 healthcare professionals using a structured questionnaire. Validity and reliability tests confirmed the suitability of the instrument. Classical assumption tests, including normality, multicollinearity, and heteroscedasticity, indicated that the data met regression requirements. Multiple linear regression analysis revealed that system accuracy (β = 0.502, p < 0.01) and ease of use (β = 0.398, p < 0.01) have significant positive effects on user satisfaction. The F-test confirmed the simultaneous significance of both variables, and the coefficient of determination (R² = 0.684) showed that 68.4% of user satisfaction can be explained by these factors. The study concludes that both accuracy and usability are essential for enhancing user satisfaction, with accuracy having a slightly stronger impact. Optimizing data reliability and interface usability is crucial for maximizing the benefits of EMR systems in healthcare settings.

Abstract

Wood–plastic composites (WPCs) have gained increasing attention as lightweight, cost-effective, and sustainable materials for applications such as construction, furniture, automotive components, and consumer products. Among the variables affecting WPC performance, filler characteristics play a central role by controlling stress transfer, interfacial adhesion, stiffness, strength, and fracture behaviour. This literature review examines the influence of filler characteristics on the mechanical performance of WPCs. The discussion includes filler type and source, particle size, particle shape, aspect ratio, filler loading, raw material composition, and chemical pretreatment, together with their interactions with coupling agents and polymer matrices. The reviewed studies show that these factors strongly influence tensile strength, flexural strength, modulus, impact resistance, and failure mechanisms. Differences in wood species, recycled lignocellulosic materials, and agricultural residues also contribute to variations in composite behaviour, driven by their distinct chemical composition, density, morphology, and thermal stability. In addition, surface modification and compatibilisation, especially using maleic anhydride-grafted polyolefins, are widely reported to improve filler–matrix adhesion and mechanical properties. Overall, WPC optimisation requires integrated control of filler morphology, composition, content, and interface quality.

Abstract

Sumatra Island has shown a strong economic performance in terms of its contribution to the national GDP. However, the island still has seven underdeveloped regions. This situation is further exacerbated by a high percentage of poverty in each of these underdeveloped areas. This research aims to map the progress of poverty in these underdeveloped regions of Sumatra Island using the Klassen typology, and to analyze the faktors influencing poverty in these regions through panel data regression analysis. The mapping analysis conducted using the Klassen typology consistently places North Nias Regency in the quadrant with a high poverty percentage and low per capita gross regional domestic product (PDRB) throughout the study period. Meanwhile, most other regencies have shifted their quadrant positions. The panel data regression analysis results indicate that significant faktors reducing poverty include the length of well-maintained roads, the Human Development Index (HDI), capital expenditure, and per capita PDRB. On the other hand, the open unemployment rate (TPT) significantly increases poverty. Social assistance spending does not have an effect on poverty in the underdeveloped regions of Sumatra Island.
