Aims and Scope The purpose of JOYCED Journal of Early Childhood Education is to capture and disseminate information about exciting and innovative models, programs, funding approaches, practices, policies, research, and other areas that are being explored and implemented to improve the education of children around the world. JOYCED Journal of Early Childhood Education is published for a global audience working to create positive, sustainable futures for children by seeking out and developing innovative solutions to education challenges. Our target audience includes practitioners in schools, non governmental organizations, community-based organizations, and education academics interested in innovative ideas and practices; global education advocates are foundations, government agencies, and college students. We are looking for engaging, accessible articles that explore cutting-edge thinking and emerging trends and ideas in school design, technology, education leadership, curriculum approaches, assessment improvements, child growth and development, developmental observation, Childrens relations with family and society, health, safety, nutrition, and management. Abstract

Playing is a fun activity for children. With this activity, of course, it can develop social skills because of the interaction that is established. This study aims to determine and analyze the role of age when playing in the social development of early childhood. This type of research uses a qualitative descriptive method with a case study of RA Al-Qur'an Iqro and SD Muhammadiyah 02 Pematangsiantar. The responses in this study were from all RA and SD children who often play together, teachers, and principals. Data collection techniques were by interview, observation, and documentation. The results of this study indicate that the role of elementary school age can help the social development of early childhood. In addition to being able to socialize with peers, RA children also dare to deal with those older than them. In addition, there are several findings in playing activities such as: 1) elementary school children can listen attentively; 2) use good words; 3) play in turns.

Abstract

The relationship between teachers and children plays an important role in determining children's adjustment to school, especially in early childhood education environments. A positive relationship between teachers and children is believed to help children overcome challenges in the adaptation process, thus contributing to their success in the school environment. The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between teachers and students with school adjustment in Kindergarten A students. Using a quantitative methodology, this study gathered data from 70 respondents who filled out questionnaires. With a correlation value of 0.604, the study discovered a positive and significant link between school adjustment and the relationship between teachers and students. According to this study, students' school adjustment is positively correlated with the strength of their interaction with their teachers. Furthermore, teacher-student relationships contribute 36.5% to school adjustment, while the remaining 63.5% is influenced by other factors such as family support, social environment, and individual student characteristics. This study emphasizes the importance of teachers' roles in fostering positive relationships with students to support optimal school adjustment processes.

Abstract

This study was conducted against the background of children's social behavior which is currently experiencing a decline. Unconsciously, we have now entered a disruptive era where everyone is starting to use the digital world in their daily lives. The predictor that is thought to be able to predict children's social behavior is digital literacy. Therefore, this study tests and analyzes the influence of digital literacy on the social behavior of early childhood. The purpose of this study was to determine the influence of digital literacy on the social behavior of early childhood using this quantitative research method. The researcher studied 20 samples of early childhood in the Pedukuhan Canden, Canden, Jetis, Bantul area. The technique used was a correlation design, then the collected data was analyzed using comparative analysis with the help of SPSS 2.3 For Windows. The conclusion in this study is based on the results of the study, namely the results obtained 0.005 <0.05, it can be said that the data has a relationship between digital literacy and the social behavior of early childhood. With a person value of 0.599 > rtable 0.444, it can be concluded that digital literacy is positively related to the social behavior of early childhood with a sufficient degree of correlation, which means that there is an influence of digital literacy on the social behavior of early childhood in Pedukuhan Canden, Canden, Jetis, Bantul. The implication of the results of this study is the importance of developing digital literacy in early childhood as an effort to improve and enhance their social interactions. With better digital literacy, children are expected to be able to use technology wisely, which not only enriches their knowledge but also improves their social skills. Therefore, it is important for parents, educators, and related parties to provide appropriate learning regarding the use of technology that supports children's social development.

Abstract

This study aims to internalize the value of mutual cooperation in Ananda PAUD students in Pulau Tengah Village. This is due to the influence of modernization which forms an individualistic attitude, making it difficult to cooperate, take responsibility and help each other. The research method used is qualitative research using a naturalistic inquiry approach. Informants in this study used purposive sampling. Data collection was carried out through observation, interviews, and documentation studies. Data analysis using triangulation of data sources, with stages of data collection, data reduction, data presentation, conclusions, and data verification. The results of the study indicate that the process of internalizing the value of mutual cooperation in students is carried out in several stages, the first stage of transformation is carried out through oral communication, written communication, and listening and reading. second, the stage of value transactions through two-way communication, and the third stage of transinternalization is carried out by collaboration, habituation, and exemplary behavior. The process of internalizing the value of mutual cooperation in students from an early age can cultivate and preserve the values and meaning of mutual cooperation, such as cooperation, solidarity, responsibility, togetherness, concern, and unity. This study is expected to contribute to the importance of maintaining and preserving the values of cooperation from an early age so that they are not lost in the current era of modernization.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the parenting style of parents towards early childhood with gadget addiction in Kerisik Tuo Village, Kayu Aro. The research method used is qualitative with a case study approach. Data was collected through in-depth interviews with five parents who had early childhood addiction to gadgets, as well as direct observation of parent-child interactions. Data analysis was carried out using thematic analysis techniques. The results of the study showed that the parenting pattern of parents for early childhood with gadget addiction in Kersik Tuo Village, Kayu Aro, tended to vary. Some parents adopt an authoritative approach, trying to limit the time spent on gadgets and provide strict supervision over their children's online activities. Meanwhile, some parents tend to give their children full freedom to use gadgets without adequate supervision. These findings identify the importance of the role of parents in controlling the use of early childhood gadgets and the need for education about the negative impact of gadget addiction on child development. This research is expected to contribute to increasing parents' awareness of the importance of healthy parenting in this digital era.

Abstract

Early childhood is referred to as the golden age, which is in the foundational phase. In this era, the prevalence of online games that children can play for long periods has many negative impacts on their development. Currently, there is a lack of educational play tools that encourage children to engage in activities, develop Islamic values, and foster a love for Malay culture. The purpose of this research is to develop the Is-Me board game with themes of Islam and Malay culture so that it can be used to instill religious values and a love for Malay culture in children aged 4-6 years. This study uses a Research and Development (R&D) approach with the 4D model (Define, Design, Develop, and Dissemination). The validity level from material experts reached 90%, while media experts reached 91%. The research results show that the Is-Me board game media developed using the 4D model can be considered feasible for use, as confirmed by the validity test involving material and media experts, and it has been trialed for the use of the media.

Abstract

Religious education in early childhood has an important role in shaping the character and morals of children from an early age. This study aims to analyze the model of religious education applied through the habituation of religious values in RA Diponegoro 183 fast Gumelar. The method used in this study is qualitative-descriptive with a case study approach. Data were obtained through observation, interviews, and documentation. The results showed that the habituation of religious values is carried out through daily activities such as (1) spontaneous habituation through smiles, Greetings, greetings, reading thoyibah sentences; (2) habituation through prayer, Duha prayer, memorization of letters, songs and applause, and tahlilan: (3) exemplary habituation through read aloud Islamic story books and sayings please, sorry, and thank you; (4) programmed habituation to Islamic holidays and Banyumas birthdays. This model of religious education as a positive impact of religious habituation in instilling religious values, such as honesty, responsibility, and respect for others, which is reflected in children's daily behavior. This model of Education also involves the active role of parents and society in creating an environment that supports the religious development of children. In conclusion, the habituation of religious values in early childhood in RA Diponegoro 183 is a holistic and integrative approach in building the foundation of religious character from an early age.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the effect of loose part media on the ability to recognize letters in children aged 4-5 years at Pertiwi Kindergarten 14.07.08 Mekarsari Village. This research was motivated by the ability to recognize letters in children aged 4-5 years at Pertiwi Kindergarten 14.07.08 Mekarsari Village which still needs improvement. This research is experimental research with a pre-experimental design carried out in pre-test, treatment and post-test stages. The data collection methods used in this research are observation and documentation, while the data analysis techniques used are validity, reliability and normality tests. The results of the study showed that the ability to recognize letters in children aged 4-5 years had changed after treatment. Thorough recognition of letters using loose part media has an influence on the ability to recognize letters in children aged 4-5 years at Pertiwi Kindergarten 14.07.08 Mekarsari Village. Children's ability to recognize letters during the pre-test shows that they still need improvement. Next, the child or respondent is given treatment using loose part media for 2 times, then the child is observed again using a post-test to find out the difference between the pre-test and the results after the treatment. The results of the post-test show a better change in the ability to recognize letters in children aged 4-5 years, which means that the use of loose part media has an effect on the ability to recognize letters in children aged 4-5 years.

Abstract

Early Childhood Islamic Education (PAUD) plays an important role in forming the foundation of children's values and character, especially amidst technological advances and changes in the era of Society 5.0. In the context of PAUD, the main challenge faced is how to integrate Islamic values in the learning process that is relevant to technological developments, as well as ensuring comprehensive education for early childhood. The purpose of this article is to explain the importance of the role of teachers and their implementation in early childhood education learning and its relationship to Islamic education in the era of Society 5.0, especially for early childhood. The research approach uses qualitative research with interviews and data analysis methods. Interviews were conducted with preschool teachers and and data sources come from journals and books in the field of early childhood education in early childhood learning. Data collection is carried out by collecting related references, both manually and digitally. After the data is collected, it is then displayed, reduced and constructed so that a new, complete and latest concept emerges. The results of the study show that the role of teachers is very strategic in managing a comprehensive and adaptive learning process to technological developments, in order to produce a generation that is not only intellectually intelligent, but also has good character and strong faith in accordance with Islamic teachings. Therefore, training and improving teacher competence in the digital era is a key factor in creating quality Islamic education in PAUD.

Abstract

Nutrition is an important factor in supporting the growth and development of early childhood. Good health will help optimize children's growth and development. This research aims to determine nutritional requirements and monitor children's growth and development at Darussalam Kindergarten, Yogyakarta. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative. The sources of information in this research are teachers, school principals and children. Data collection techniques include observation, interviews and documentation. Data analysis techniques by reducing, presenting and drawing conclusions. The research results obtained show that Darussalam Kindergarten Yogyakarta has implemented various efforts to prevent stunting through a program to fulfill nutritional needs and monitor child growth and development. The program includes daily, monthly, and annual nutritional activities, as well as monitoring of Early Detection of Growth and Development (DDTK) carried out together with parents and the Health Center. In addition, health interventions such as deworming, vitamins, immunizations, and periodic weight and height measurements are also provided. The program has proven effective in preventing stunting. through programs that are implemented in a structured manner and involve various parties, especially parents and health workers, showing a holistic approach and potentially effective in preventing stunting. The active involvement of parents strengthens the continuity of monitoring child nutrition both at school and at home. The collaborative model implemented by Darussalam Kindergarten can be used as a reference for other early childhood education institutions in efforts to prevent stunting early and sustainably.
