Abstract

Abstract Electricity sales represent a crucial aspect of the business operations of the Perusahaan Listrik Negara (PLN). PLN is required to continuously improve its electricity sales strategies and enhance its services to meet the growing demands of its customers. PLN’s Customer Service Unit (ULP) Belawan is located in the northern part of Medan City, North Sumatra Province. PLN ULP Belawan serves a total of 75,931 customers with a total installed capacity of 220.28 MVA. In 2023, electricity sales reached 484.86 GWh, which is 105.63% of the target. The sales target for 2024 has been set at 524.46 GWh. This thesis aims to present the results of customer zoning prioritization that can be used to improve service delivery more effectively within PLN ULP Belawan. Through the weighting process using Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) and Analytic Network Process (ANP), as multi-criteria decision-making methods, were to optimize criteria and contribute to enhancing electricity sales performance. Each customer zone was evaluated based on several criteria, including system reliability, electricity usage regulation (P2TL), improvement of disturbance and complaint services, replacement of electricity meters, enforcement of the 720-hour usage regulation, connection criteria, cash-in performance, and accurate meter reading. The research successfully identified customer zones based on priority criteria. Abstract

This study aims to examine the relationship between emotion regulation and cyberbullying behavior among students at SMK Negeri 1 Kaidipang. Cyberbullying is a form of digital aggression that is prevalent among adolescents and is often triggered by negative emotions and poor emotional management skills. The research adopts a quantitative approach using a correlational survey method. The sample consisted of 37 students selected through purposive sampling. The research instruments included an emotion regulation scale based on Gross's theory and a cyberbullying behavior scale referring to aspects identified by Hinduja and Patchin. Data analysis using Pearson correlation revealed a significant negative relationship between emotion regulation and cyberbullying behavior (r = -0.483; p = 0.002). This indicates that the better students regulate their emotions, the lower their tendency to engage in cyberbullying.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the level of public service responsiveness at Perusahaan Umum Daerah (Perumda) Tirta Hidayah in Bengkulu City, with a focus on new water connection services. A descriptive qualitative method was employed, using in-depth interviews, direct observation, and document analysis as data collection techniques. The findings indicate that the current level of service responsiveness is suboptimal. Customers reported delays in connection installation, inconsistent information, and slow responses to complaints. The main contributing factors include limited human resources and the absence of an integrated service system based on information technology. The analysis draws on Dwiyanto’s theory of public service responsiveness, which highlights five key indicators: customer complaints, bureaucratic attitudes, feedback utilization, corrective action, and the role of citizens in the service system. The study recommends a comprehensive reform of the service system, enhancement of human resource capacity, and increased community involvement to achieve responsive, transparent, and citizen-oriented public services.

Abstract

Social media has become a strategic channel for digital recruitment platforms to build relationships with their audiences. One platform actively fostering closeness with job seekers on X is @deallsjobs, the official account of Dealls, a recruitment platform known for being responsive and closely connected to the job-seeking community on social media. This study aims to understand how Dealls manages its X account to build engagement and trust among job seekers. Using a descriptive qualitative approach, the study applies Regina Luttrell’s Circular of SoMe model as the analytical framework. Data collection was conducted through direct observation, in-depth interviews with the key informant managing the X account and a job seeker, as well as documentation of posts from the @deallsjobs account on X. The data were analyzed through data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results show that Dealls implements the four stages of the Circular of SoMe in an integrated manner. In the Share stage, Dealls distributes job vacancy content, career education, and motivational posts in a contextual and responsive way in relation to public discussions. In the Optimize stage, the X account administrator adjust the posting times, communication tone, and relevant issues according to user characteristics, including tapping into ongoing trends. In the Manage stage, the account maintains consistency through polite and relevant communication, including careful responses to sensitive issues via cross-team coordination. Lastly, in the Engage stage, Dealls builds personal connections with the audience through two-way interactions, empathetic replies, and a casual yet meaningful tone of communication. The study concludes that Dealls' social media management goes beyond mere information dissemination; it also focuses on fostering strong digital relationships with its audience. Consistent, responsive, and relevant management practices drive active engagement and help build trust, stemming from timely responses, empathetic communication, and a presence that aligns with job seekers' needs on the X platform. The engagement and trust developed through these practices also open up opportunities for the emergence of long-term digital loyalty.

Abstract

Automatic Dependent Surveillance-Broadcast (ADS-B) is a technology used in aircraft monitoring systems, where aircraft transmit identity, position, speed, and other data via open radio signals. Receiving and decoding ADS-B signals to obtain real-time flight information have been of significant interest in the aviation field. In this study, we propose the implementation of a multi-receiver ADS-B system based on RTL-SDR (Software-Defined Radio) to enhance monitoring coverage and flight data accuracy. RTL-SDR is a cost-effective and versatile platform that uses hardware programmable through software to receive radio signals. To demonstrate the effectiveness and performance of the multi-receiver RTL-SDR-based ADS-B system, a series of experiments will be conducted in different environments, followed by a comparison of results with another platform, namely Flight Radar24. The system's performance will be evaluated, yielding a success rate of 83.8%, accuracy of 76.68%, and equipment sensitivity of 64.17 dBm. For Quality of Service (QoS) analysis, the obtained results are as follows: throughput falls under the category of very good, packet loss is categorized as moderate, delay is categorized as very good, and jitter is categorized as bad

Abstract

AbstractThis paper examines the intricate relationship between traditional religious rituals and their influence on Christian worship and ethical frameworks. It examines how pre-Christian and indigenous religious practices have shaped, complemented, or transformed Christian liturgical traditions and moral codes. By analysing historical, theological, and anthropological perspectives, the study reveals how ritual elements such as rites of passage, sacrificial offerings, festivals, and communal ceremonies have been integrated or adapted into Christian worship. The research also highlights the ethical implications of these integrations, focusing on how they inform concepts of morality, community cohesion, and spiritual discipline within Christian contexts. Furthermore, the article investigates the tension and dialogue between preserving traditional customs and adhering to Christian doctrinal purity. The research method involves oral interviews with Christian pastors, and case studies from cultural backgrounds and online sources are presented to illustrate the dynamic interplay between tradition and faith, showcasing how rituals can serve as vehicles for ethical instruction and spiritual reflection. The conclusion emphasises the ongoing evolution of Christian worship and ethics in response to cultural influences, advocating for a nuanced understanding of how tradition shapes contemporary Christian identity and moral practice. Involving ourselves with our cultures makes others benefit from them and become one in unity, wisdom and love.

Abstract

The dismissal of a Constitutional Court justice by the Indonesian House of Representatives has generated constitutional and legal debate, particularly regarding the separation of powers and judicial independence. According to Law Number 7 of 2020, such dismissal must follow a clearly defined legal procedure. However, the DPR’s removal of Justice Aswanto without proper legal justification is widely considered to be in violation of applicable laws. Viewed through the lens of maslahah—a foundational principle in Islamic law—this action fails to promote public benefit (maslahah ‘ammah) and instead poses a risk of harm (mafsadah) to judicial legitimacy and public justice. Thus, this issue serves as a relevant case to examine whether a public policy aligns with both constitutional standards and the moral-religious values of Islamic legal theory.

Abstract

This paper explores the phenomenon of AI-generated offensive language and investigates the absence of metaphor in offensive language produced by artificial intelligence, specifically focusing on the implications for Conceptual Metaphor Theory and AI ethics. Human language, particularly offensive terms such as “fuck” and “bitch”, is rich with metaphorical meaning rooted in embodied experiences and social contexts. These metaphors trigger deep emotional and social responses, connecting abstract concepts like violation, power, and subjugation to physical and cultural experiences. In contrast, AI models like ChatGPT generate offensive language based on statistical patterns and data correlations rather than embodying the social and cultural significance that humans associate with such language. Through detailed analysis, this study reveals that AI-generated offensive language lacks the embodied metaphor that defines human communication. As a result, AI’s offensive language appears emotionally flat and socially detached, leading to the concept of pseudo-offensive language—language that mimics human insults but lacks the metaphorical richness. The paper also discusses the implications of these findings for metaphor theory, showing how AI’s inability to process metaphor challenges Lakoff and Johnson’s Conceptual Metaphor Theory, and highlights the ethical concerns regarding AI’s emotional intelligence and cultural sensitivity. Lastly, the paper proposes directions for future research to improve AI’s understanding of metaphor, enhance contextual sensitivity in Natural Language Processing (NLP), and address ethical issues in AI development, particularly in sensitive and socially charged language contexts.
