Abstract

This study aims to analyze the impact of implementing the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model on learning outcomes in Natural and Social Sciences (IPAS) on the subject of Magnetism in grade V at SDN Kuta Pasie with a total of 23 students. The study used a Classroom Action Research (CAR) approach conducted in two cycles. Data were collected through learning outcome tests in the form of pre-tests and post-tests, supplemented by observations of student activities and documentation of the learning process. Data analysis was conducted quantitatively by comparing pre-test and post-test scores using a paired t-test and calculating Cohen's d effect size to determine the strength of the effect. The results of the study show an increase in the average score from 38.3 on the pretest to 76.5 on the posttest, with an average difference of 38.3 points. Learning completeness increased from 1 student (4.3%) to 12 students (52.2%). The paired t-test produced a t-value of 7.190 with a Cohen's d effect size of 1.499, which is classified as large. These findings indicate that the application of the PBL model is effective in improving students' understanding of magnetic concepts while also encouraging an increase in learning completeness.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to examine the teaching and learning of speaking skills at the Ulil Albaab Islamic Boarding School in the 2023/2024 academic year, with an emphasis on the reasons for and practices of its implementation. This study uses a qualitative case study approach with data collection through observation, in-depth interviews with teachers and students, and document analysis. The results show that speaking skills learning is dominated by a communicative approach that utilizes group discussion, presentation, and simulation strategies to encourage the use of language in real contexts. This approach is capable of creating an interactive learning atmosphere, despite facing challenges such as limited resources, varying levels of student confidence, and limited vocabulary mastery. Nevertheless, the integration of practice-based methods continues to play an important role in improving students' speaking skills. These findings have implications for the development of strategies for teaching speaking skills in Islamic boarding schools and similar educational institutions.

Abstract

The lack of active student participation and low learning motivation in Information and Communication Technology (ICT) learning at MTS Nurul Huda Cimanggu became the background for this study. The study aimed to apply an interactive learning method based on Quizizz to improve student motivation and learning outcomes. The research method used was quantitative with a Pretest-Posttest Control Group Design. The research population consisted of 310 students, with a sample of two classes, namely the experimental class and the control class, each consisting of 32 students. Data were collected through observation, documentation, and tests, then analyzed statistically. The results of the study indicate that the use of Quizizz significantly improves student learning outcomes. The average post-test score for the experimental class was 76.56, while the control class scored only 59.38, with the hypothesis test showing a significant difference (p < 0.01). These findings confirm that the use of technology-based interactive media can create more engaging and effective learning. This study is expected to be a practical contribution for teachers in developing ICT learning strategies and to serve as a reference for further research on the use of technology in education

Abstract

This study aims to examine the effect of using the Google Play Books application on students' learning comprehension levels in Informatics at SMK Al-Ihya Selajambe. The background of this study stems from the need for innovative digital learning media that can increase student engagement and deepen their understanding of the material. This study uses a quantitative experimental method with a pretest-posttest control group design. The research population consisted of all 10th grade students, with a purposive sample of two classes, each consisting of 32 students, namely the experimental class and the control class. The research instrument was a validated learning comprehension test, while data were collected through pretest and posttest administration and then analyzed using an independent t-test with a significance level of 0.05. The results showed that the average posttest score in the experimental class (90.75) was higher than that in the control class (85.06). The hypothesis test produced a significance value of <0.001, indicating a significant difference between the two groups. Thus, the use of Google Play Books was proven to have a positive and significant effect on improving students' learning comprehension.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze students’ errors in solving ellipse equation problems in terms of numeracy literacy at the cognitive levels of understanding, application, and reasoning. The research employed a descriptive qualitative method with three twelfth-grade students from SMAS Islam PB. Soedirman Bekasi selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected through essay tests consisting of three numeracy problems on ellipse equations and interviews to confirm students’ answers. Data analysis was carried out through data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings revealed that errors at the understanding level were related to students’ inability to grasp concepts, inaccuracies in recognizing facts in the form of symbols and notations, mistakes in processes and procedures, and difficulties in extracting information from tables. At the application level, students demonstrated weaknesses in selecting appropriate strategies, misapplied concepts and procedures, and misinterpreted information from the problems. At the reasoning level, students were unable to analyze information provided in the problems, failed to connect multiple concepts, did not employ suitable strategies, and did not generate alternative solutions. Furthermore, they were unable to draw proper conclusions and presented flawed mathematical arguments in their justifications.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the Aptitude Treatment Interaction (ATI) learning approach on student learning outcomes in the digestive system material for eighth grade students at SMP Negeri 23 Makassar. The study used a quasi-experimental method with a nonequivalent control group design. The study population consisted of 341 eighth grade students, with a sample of 76 students selected purposively and divided into experimental and control groups. Data were collected through learning outcome tests administered at the pre-test and post-test stages to measure improvements in student understanding. In addition, documentation was used to reinforce the research findings. Data analysis was performed using prerequisite tests (normality and homogeneity tests) and the Independent Samples T-Test using statistical software. The results showed that the average learning score of students in the experimental class was 84.13, while in the control class it was 81.76. Hypothesis testing showed a significant difference between the two groups (Sig. < α = 0.001). Based on these findings, it can be concluded that the ATI approach is effective in improving student learning outcomes in digestive system material

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of Canva as a learning medium in improving students’ learning outcomes in the subject of Entrepreneurship for grade XI students at SMK Auto Matsuda. The research method used was a quasi-experimental approach with a Nonequivalent Control Group Design. The subjects consisted of 46 students divided into two groups: the experimental class that used Canva as the learning medium and the control class that used conventional methods. Data were collected through observation, pretest and posttest, and documentation. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, normality test, homogeneity test, and t-test. The results showed a significant improvement in students’ learning outcomes after using Canva. The average pretest score of the experimental class was 61, which increased to 83 in the posttest, with an average gain of 22 points. The highest score improved from 78 to 100, while the lowest score increased from 45 to 60. The t-test results also indicated a significant difference between the experimental and control groups, proving that Canva is effective in improving students’ learning outcomes. Therefore, Canva can be considered an innovative alternative to support Entrepreneurship learning at vocational high schools, as well as to encourage the implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum, which emphasizes technology integration and student-centered learning.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of Kahoot-based Game Based Learning on the learning interest of seventh-grade students at SMP Negeri 1 Waikabubak in mathematics. The study used a quasi-experimental method with a pretest-posttest control group design. The study population consisted of all seventh-grade students at SMP Negeri 1 Waikabubak in the 2024/2025 academic year. The sample was selected using purposive sampling and consisted of two classes. Data were collected through a multiple-choice test consisting of 10 questions and a learning interest questionnaire containing 15 statements. The results showed that the use of Kahoot had a significant effect on students' learning interest. The significance value of the hypothesis test was 0.000 < 0.05, so H0 was rejected and Ha was accepted. The comparison of average scores also reinforces these results, with the control class mean of 49.42, while the experimental class reached 63.12. N-Gain analysis shows that the increase in learning interest in the control class was in the moderate category with an average of 0.52, while in the experimental class it was in the high category with an average of 0.80. Thus, it can be concluded that the application of Kahoot-based Game Based Learning can significantly increase student learning interest compared to conventional learning. These findings confirm that the integration of technology-based interactive learning media can be an effective strategy in increasing student engagement, especially in learning mathematics on algebraic operations in junior high school

Abstract

The background of this study is based on children's low interest in consuming vegetables, especially spinach, even though vegetables play an important role in children's growth and development. This study aims to determine the effect of spinach rice on the interest of 5-6-year-old children in consuming healthy foods at the Ceria Kubu Raya Early Childhood Education Center. This study uses a quantitative approach with a one-group pretest-posttest experimental design. The research subjects consisted of 30 children selected using simple random sampling. Data collection was conducted through observation and documentation. Data analysis was performed using simple linear regression tests. Data calculations were performed using SPSS Statistics 26 software. The research results show a significant increase in children's interest after being given a presentation of spinach rice, indicated by the t-test results (t-count = 13.873; significance 0.000 < 0.05). The appealing presentation of spinach rice, combined with side dishes that children like, along with support from teachers, has proven to be effective in increasing children's interest in consuming healthy food. This study provides important contributions to the development of strategies for presenting nutritious food that is appealing to young children.

Abstract

This study aims to improve student learning outcomes in Graphic Design subjects through the implementation of the Snowball Throwing learning model assisted by AhaSlides media in Grade X of SMK Negeri 1 Japara in the academic year 2024/2025. The research employed a quantitative approach using a pre-experimental design with the one group pretest-posttest design. The population of this study consisted of 70 students from Grade X of the Visual Communication Design program at SMK Negeri 1 Japara. The sample was determined through purposive sampling, selecting 35 students from class X DKV 1. Data collection techniques included observation and tests, which were administered as pretests and posttests. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and inferential tests with the assistance of SPSS version 26. The findings revealed a significant improvement in students’ learning outcomes after applying the Snowball Throwing model assisted by AhaSlides. The mean pretest score of 51.11 increased to 79.43 in the posttest. The paired sample t-test results confirmed a significant difference between the pretest and posttest scores at the 0.05 significance level. Thus, it can be concluded that the implementation of the Snowball Throwing model assisted by AhaSlides is effective in enhancing student learning outcomes in Graphic Design at SMK Negeri 1 Japara.
