Abstract

This study aims to determine the level of student interest in swimming extracurricular activities at SD Muhammadiyah Cilopadang. This study uses a quantitative descriptive method with a questionnaire as the main instrument for data collection. The research subjects were students in grades III, IV, and V who participated in swimming extracurricular activities. The data obtained were analysed descriptively to describe the level of student interest based on predetermined categories. The results showed that most students had a very high level of interest in swimming activities. Specifically, student interest was in the Very High category (31.1%), High (28.9%), Fair (24.4%), and Low (15.6%). These findings indicate that swimming extracurricular activities are popular among the majority of students, even though their implementation still faces obstacles in the form of limited facilities, infrastructure, and the number of coaches available.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the concepts of knowledge (‘ilm) and morality (akhlaq) in the thoughts of Ibn Sina and Ibn Khaldun, viewed from the aspect of their contribution to Islamic education. This research is a literature review, analyzing various conceptual information and both qualitative and quantitative data obtained from previous scholarly articles. The databases used to collect articles for this literature study include Google Scholar, DOAJ, ResearchGate, and ScienceDirect, which provide reliable and up-to-date academic sources. The data were analyzed using content analysis, by examining themes, concepts, and theoretical relevance to produce a comprehensive synthesis in accordance with the research focus. The findings and discussion reveal that the concepts of knowledge, ethics, and methods of contemporary Islamic education are greatly influenced by the works of Ibn Khaldun and Ibn Sina. Both rejected the notion of knowledge as merely technical, emphasizing instead its role in guiding humans toward truth, happiness, and morality. Ibn Khaldun highlighted knowledge as a cultural product and a tool for building civilization, with ethics rooted in social interaction. Conversely, Ibn Sina stressed the integration of reason and faith, gradual education, and the teacher as a moral role model. Their ideas are significant as they contribute to shaping the insan kamil a complete human being capable of competing globally while addressing the challenges of globalization through the integration of knowledge, faith, and ethics

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the barriers to pre-literacy skills in early childhood and the strategies used by teachers to overcome these challenges. The study is based on the importance of pre-literacy as the foundation of reading and writing skills, which determines children’s readiness for the next stage of learning. This research employed a descriptive qualitative approach, involving observation, interviews, and document analysis with 13 research subjects, consisting of teachers and children aged 5–6 years at TK Cor Jesu Marsudirini. Data were analyzed using Miles and Huberman’s interactive analysis technique, which includes three main stages: data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing/verification. Through this process, data from observations, interviews, and documentation were systematically processed to identify patterns of barriers and the strategies teachers used to enhance children’s pre-literacy skills. The findings indicate that several problems in children’s pre-literacy include limited vocabulary, lack of family support and encouragement, and inadequate educational media. By implementing play-based learning, using more engaging visual and audio media, and involving parents actively in home-based stimulation, teachers strive to address these issues. Therefore, improving children’s pre-literacy skills requires collaboration among teachers, families, and schools through creative, engaging, and contextual learning strategies.

Abstract

This study examines the language variation and virtual interaction patterns of Indonesian Generation Z on the Roblox platform. Employing a digital ethnography approach combined with multimodal discourse analysis, data were collected through participant observation, semi-structured interviews, and chat log analysis. The findings reveal five dominant communication patterns: (1) the prevalence of code-mixing (blending Indonesian and English), (2) a complex system of nonverbal communication through emotes and gestures, (3) the use of slang and abbreviations as identity markers, (4) sociolinguistic awareness in varying language registers based on social relations, and (5) the significant influence of globalization and digital content on language practices. These findings indicate that Generation Z develops multimodal communication competencies and forms unique hybrid linguistic identities by integrating local and global elements within the virtual space. This research contributes to the understanding of language evolution in the digital era and has implications for the development of digital literacy.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the experiences of working students in undergoing hybrid learning, which is increasingly being implemented in higher education institutions. Working students often face challenges in dividing their time between work and study, which can lead to dual role conflicts. This study uses a qualitative approach with a phenomenological method. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews and documentation, then analysed using thematic analysis to identify relevant patterns of experience. The results show that the main challenges faced by working students include time management, limited access to technology, and schedule conflicts between work and lectures. However, support from the work environment and campus institutions, as well as strategies such as online group learning, help them overcome these obstacles. These findings emphasise the importance of inclusive campus policies, flexible class schedules, and the provision of asynchronous learning materials. In practical terms, this study recommends collaboration between the world of work and higher education to create a learning environment that supports the academic success of working students without disrupting their professional performance.
